There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Lactobacillus reuteri (L. reuteri) has been widely studied in clinical trials and has probiotic, health-promoting effects in both adults and children, and is safe for human consumption. Animal models indicate that treatment with L. reuteri has positive effects on bone metabolism and bone density. In other animal models of diabetes and the metabolic syndrome, positive effects on blood glucose and weight have been reported. The present double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized study is designed to investigate if dietary supplementation with L. reuteri twice daily for 12 months has any effect on bone density, body composition, inflammation, or metabolic and endocrine markers in elderly women with osteopenia.
This Phase 3 study was intended to demonstrate superiority of either Sotagliflozin high dose or low dose versus placebo on glycosylated hemoglobin A1C (A1C) reduction at Week 24 when used as an adjunct in adult participants with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) who have inadequate glycemic control with insulin therapy.
Mesh fixation is used to prevent recurrence in TEP to the potential cost of pain. The aim was to evaluate the impact of permanent fixation (PF) versus non-permanent fixation (N-PF) of mesh in TEP repair for a primary inguinal hernia regarding chronic pain. A cohort of patients were studied for pain interfering with sexual activety. The hyopthesis is that fixation causes pain.
The study is to evaluate the percentage of patients with asthma or COPD achieving disease control
This clincial trial is evaluating if the co-administration of saxagliptin and dapagliflozin, in addition to metformin, results in better glycemic control, as measured by HbA1c, over a treatment period of 52 weeks, compared to the addition of glimepiride to metformin in subjects with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who have inadequate glycemic control on Metformin Alone. We will compare the change from baseline in HbA1c achieved with saxagliptin, in co-administration with dapagliflozin, added to current background therapy with metformin compared to glimepiride added to current background therapy with metformin ≥1500 mg at Week 52.
The purpose of the study was to explore the added value of adjunctive use of Early Embryo Viability Assessment (Eeva) with morphological grading in identifying optimal embryos for transfer.
The investigators planned study is a randomized, controlled exploratory study of a ketogenic and a NFA (National Food Administration) recommended diet. Study participants will be female nutrition students with both knowledge and interest in dietary surveys, in order to increase motivation and adherence. They will be provided with cooked food. The women should be weight stable and maintain their physical activity during the study, in order to evaluate how the diet itself affects various health parameters. The investigators intend to investigate diet specific biomarkers (small molecules involved in metabolism) in the blood, as well as blood lipids, body composition, gut microbiota, energy substrate utilization, exercise performance, resting metabolic rate, hormones, cognition and sweet cravings. In addition, the investigators intend to qualitatively study the experience of following both of these dietary regimes. The investigators intend to make a short and controlled study. The study is expected to reveal whether the ketogenic diet is a healthy or unhealthy diet in the short term. The investigators also expect that data from this study will be a helpful tool to measure diet adherence in future long-term studies.
The purpose of this study is to determine if Apixaban is safer than a Vitamin K Antagonist given for 6 months in terms of bleeding in patients with an irregular heart beat (atrial fibrillation) and a recent heart attack or a recent procedure to open up a blood vessel in the heart. All patients would also be taking a class of medicines called P2Y12 inhibitors (such as clopidogrel/Plavix) and be treated for up to 6 months. The primary focus will be a comparison of the bleeding risk of Apixaban, with or without aspirin, versus a Vitamin K antagonist, such as warfarin, with or without aspirin.
Comparison of 2 doses of empagliflozin vs placebo in patients already using either an insulin regimen of multiple daily injections (MDI) or continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII). Randomisation to 3 treatments arms (equal assignment) following a screening period, an optimisation period and a run-in period. 52 week double-blind treatment period, and 3 week follow-up period.
Study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of capmatinib as a single-agent treatment for subjects with advanced/metastatic (stage IIIB or IV) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who had wild-type epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR wt) (for exon 19 deletions and exon 21 L858R substitution mutations), anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-negative rearrangement, and mesenchymal epithelial transition (MET) mutations leading to exon 14 deletion (referred to as MET mutation hereafter) and/or MET amplification.
