There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Randomized control trial comparing two different Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) grafts in Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: the semitendinosus hamstrings graft and the quadriceps graft. Capio Artro Clinic (Stockholm) has vast experience in ACL surgery using both semitendinosus and quadriceps grafts.
The aim of the project is to evaluate the risk-reducing salpingectomy with delayed oophorectomy as an alternative for risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy in high risk women with respect to ovarian cancer incidence.
Comparison of elective infrarenal aneurysm surgery with open and endovascular technique, respectively, for subclinical ischemic myocardial injury detectable with troponin T and/or 3-channel Holter ECG with ST analysis
The overall aim of the project is to develop a new method for treatment of untreatable severe hoarseness due to vocal fold scarring by local injection of autologous mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC). At present there is no lasting effective treatment for this condition which results in personal suffering, and often extended sick leave, change of work or unemployement for the patients. Based on the previous results the investigators expect the autologous MSC product KI-MSC-PL-204 to be a new effective treatment without side effects for many patients with severe hoarseness or aphonia due to vocal fold scarring.
This is a multi-center, open-label, prospective single-arm study of reversal of the antiplatelet effects of ticagrelor with bentracimab (PB2452) in patients who present with uncontrolled major or life-threatening bleeding or who require urgent surgery or invasive procedure. At least 200 patients will be enrolled from approximately 200 centers in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions, including mainland China. Patients with reported use of ticagrelor within the prior 3 days who require urgent ticagrelor reversal will be eligible for enrollment. These populations will be enrolled based on separate inclusion criteria.
Tetraplegia after a cervical spinal cord injury (C-SCI) radically alters an individual's ability to perform normal activities of daily life due to paralysis in all extremities, resulting in lifelong dependence.[1] Traditional tendon transfer surgery has proven successful in restoring grip functions which greatly improves autonomy, but with a restricted passive opening of the hand. The number of transferrable muscles in the arm is however limited, why nerve transfer surgery is a new attractive option to further improve hand function by enabling active opening of the hand. Significant advantages of distal nerve transfers include less extensive surgical dissection, greatly reduced hospital stay, rehabilitation and restrictions, and thereby less health care use and costs. In an effort to further improve hand function and independence in patients with tetraplegia, hand surgeons at Centre for Advanced Reconstruction of Extremities (C.A.R.E.), Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SUH)/Mölndal have developed a strategy in which a nerve transfer procedure aiming to restore active opening of the hand is done prior to reconstruction of grip functions. To date, no study has compared the efficacy of this combined nerve and tendon transfer (CNaTT) procedure to traditional grip reconstruction by means of tendon transfer alone, thus constituting a major gap in the literature. The purpose of this study is therefore to fill that knowledge gap by comparing the clinical outcomes of a cohort of patients who undergo the CNaTT procedure to restore hand function, to those treated by means of tendon transfer alone.
The primary objective of this study (LANDMARK) is to compare the safety and effectiveness of the Myval THV Series with Contemporary Valves (Sapien THV Series and Evolut THV Series) in patients with severe symptomatic native aortic valve stenosis. This study will be done in total 768 subjects (384:384, Myval THV Series vs. Contemporary Valves) The randomisation will be carried out with an allocation ratio of 1:1 between Myval THV Series vs. Contemporary Valves (Sapien THV Series and Evolut THV Series)
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate superiority of macitentan 75 milligrams (mg) in prolonging the time to the first clinical events committee (CEC)-adjudicated morbidity or mortality (M/M) event in participants with symptomatic pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) compared to macitentan 10 mg.
This study is being done to find out whether carfilzomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (KRD) or KRD and Daratumumab (KRD+DARA) might be safer and more effective ways of controlling multiple myeloma than the stand or care treatment, which is lenalidomide, bortezomib, and dexamethasone (VRD).
Most older people want to stay at home as long as possible. Effective self-management for people losing autonomy depends on reliable monitoring of their mobility, health and safety and active implication in decision-making. New technologies have the potential to provide information about changing patterns that reflect changing care needs. This information could help older adults, caregivers and health professionals to participate in decision-making about housing options when a change in living environment needs to be considered.
