There are about 1320 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Saudi Arabia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This phase II trial studies how well combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage II-IV diffuse anaplastic Wilms tumors (DAWT) or favorable histology Wilms tumors (FHWT) that have come back (relapsed). Drugs used in chemotherapy regimens such as UH-3 (vincristine, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, carboplatin, etoposide, and irinotecan) and ICE/Cyclo/Topo (ifosfamide, carboplatin, etoposide, cyclophosphamide, and topotecan) work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This trial may help doctors find out what effects, good and/or bad, regimen UH-3 has on patients with newly diagnosed DAWT and standard risk relapsed FHWT (those treated with only 2 drugs for the initial WT) and regimen ICE/Cyclo/Topo has on patients with high and very high risk relapsed FHWT (those treated with 3 or more drugs for the initial WT).
This randomized clinical trial will evaluate two approaches of GvHD prophylaxis; the standard of care GVHD prophylaxis regimen (methotrexate/calcineurin inhibitors) and post-transplant cyclophosphamide with calcineurin inhibitors for their efficacy as a new GVHD prophylaxis strategy.
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate superiority of macitentan 75 milligrams (mg) in prolonging the time to the first clinical events committee (CEC)-adjudicated morbidity or mortality (M/M) event in participants with symptomatic pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) compared to macitentan 10 mg.
Stereotactic Ablative Radiation (SABR/SBRT) will be prescribed to a dose of 30 Gy in 5 fractions, once weekly to the pelvis in post operative patients with endometrial cancer.
We hypothesized that adopting a lower rather than a higher threshold for phototherapy discontinuation will be associated with reduced rates of rebound hyperbilirubinemia in term and late preterm neonates with hemolytic disease of newborn. Objectives: The investigators aimed to compare the safety of implementing low-threshold, compared to high- threshold, of TSB for phototherapy interruption in term and late preterm neonates with hemolytic disease of newborn.
Stereotactic Ablative Radiation (SABR/SBRT) will be prescribed to a dose of 35 Gy in 5 fractions, once weekly to prostate with a simultaneous intra-prostatic boost to the MR detected nodule up to 50Gy. The pelvic lymph nodes and seminal vesicles will also receive 25 Gy in 5 weekly fractions.
Pedicle screw instrumentation is used nowadays mostly in spine fusion which is a surgical option for treating variety of conditions such as vertebral fractures, degenerative spine diseases, spine tumors and spine deformities. However, pedicle screws misplacement and breach may occur and be a great cause of morbidity. The breach rate can be as high as 20-39.8% but most of the time only small number is associated with complications. Surgeons use assistive technique to avoid screw breached and improve screw placement accuracy. Investigators aim in this study to compare accuracy of pedicle screws placement using two guidance techniques are O-arm navigation the latest assistive imaging technique that uses three-dimensional (3-D) real time images to allow the surgeons follow the screw's trajectory, and standard cervical distractor screws to mark the entry point and trajectory.
Background: The Y balance test is a dynamic test that requires strength, flexibility, and proprioception. It is a measure of dynamic balance that provides a significant challenge to athletes and physically active individuals. The test can be used to assess physical performance, but can also be used to screen deficits in dynamic postural control due to musculoskeletal injuries (e.g. chronic ankle instability), to identify athletes at greater risk for lower extremity injury, as well as during the rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries in healthy active adults Objective: To know the effect of 4 sessions of treatment by interferential therapy (IFT) 15-20 minutes, and SWD 15 min on the balance and dynamic postural component using Y balance test Methods: Subjects will be randomized into IFT and laser group (n=20 each). After the first session, the balance component will be measured pre-post-intervention. Outcome assessment: Y Balance tests score.
This is a proposed randomized prospective study to evaluate both the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of a COX-2 inhibitor, celecoxib, in patients with aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease and Chronic rhinosinusitis following endoscopic sinus surgery. The investigators hypothesize that supplementation with celecoxib can potentially improve surgical outcomes and reduce the postoperative usage of opioid analgesics without an increased risk of bleeding or asthma exacerbation
Breast cancer is a communal malignant disease between Saudi females, with a popularity of 21.8%. Since binding to somatostatin receptors (SSTR) induces no immunogenicity in vivo, somatostatin analog (veldoreotide) (VELD) may be suitable for delivering anti-cancer drugs to target and bioimaging the cancer cells. This work aimed to deliver CdS/ZnS core-shell type quantum dots with carboxylic acid-functionalized (QDs-COOH) which is bioimaging and anticancer nanoparticles decorated VELD as SSTR agonist with anti-cancer activity in the form of topical cream to be deposited deep in the breast periphery.
