The primary purpose of the study is to investigate if Symbicort is more effective than Oxis in increasing forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), measured at the clinics, in patients with COPD.
This trial is conducted in South Africa, Europe and North America. The aim of this trial is to compare efficacy and safety of NN1250 (insulin degludec (IDeg)) with insulin glargine (IGlar), as add-on to subject's ongoing treatment with metformin and/or dipeptyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, in patients with type 2 diabetes being treated with oral anti-diabetic drugs (OADs) qualifying for intensified treatment.
This study is designed to characterize the early effects of ApoA-I synthesis with RVX000222 on coronary atherosclerotic disease when administered to patients with coronary artery disease and have a low HDL-C level, as assessed by Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) in addition to standard background therapy.
The study is designed to assess the efficacy of Glatiramer Acetate (GA) injection 40 mg administered three times a week compared to placebo in subjects with RRMS, as measured by the number of confirmed relapses during the 12 month placebo controlled period. The study has two periods: - Placebo Controlled Period: 12 months of 40 mg administered three times a week by subcutaneous injection or matching placebo. - Open Label Extension Period: All subjects will continue treatment with GA 40 mg administered three times a week, until this dose strength is commercially available for the treatment of relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients or until the development of this GA dose regimen is stopped by the Sponsor
This single arm study will assess the safety and efficacy of Tarceva monotherapy in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Patients will receive Tarceva 150mg p.o. daily. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2 different doses of canagliflozin compared with placebo in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have reduced kidney function.
The primary study objective is to test the superiority of Daclizumab High Yield Process (DAC HYP) compared to interferon β 1a (IFN β-1a) in preventing multiple sclerosis (MS) relapse in participants with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. The secondary study objectives are to test the superiority of DAC HYP compared to IFN β-1a in slowing functional decline and disability progression and maintaining quality of life in this participant population.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dapoxetine compared to placebo in men with premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction who are currently being treated with a phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor (ie, sildenafil, vardenafil, or tadalafil) for erectile dysfunction.
This open-label extension study will allow subjects who have completed either the 3242K1-2000-WW or 3242K1-2001-JA study to receive up to an additional 48 weeks of ATN-103 treatment and will provide data on the long-term safety and tolerability of ATN-103 in subjects with rheumatoid arthritis.
Primary Objectives: Part A (dose ranging study): To demonstrate that sarilumab (SAR153191/REGN88) on top of MTX was effective on reduction of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis at 12 weeks. Part B (pivotal study): To demonstrate that sarilumab added to MTX was effective in: - reduction of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis at 24 weeks - inhibition of progression of structural damage at 52 weeks - improvement in physical function at 16 weeks Secondary Objectives: Part B: To demonstrate that sarilumab added to MTX was effective in induction of a major clinical response at 52 weeks To assess the safety of sarilumab added to MTX To document the pharmacokinetic profile of sarilumab added to MTX in participants with active rheumatoid arthritis who were inadequate responders to MTX therapy.
