NCT ID: NCT00090753 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

A Study of Intravenous or Subcutaneous Methoxy Polyethylene Glycol-Epoetin Beta (RO0503821, Mircera) in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients With Renal Anemia

Start date: October 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study assessed the long-term efficacy, safety, and tolerability of intravenous (iv) or subcutaneous (sc) methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta in chronic kidney disease patients with renal anemia. Eligible patients were those who were receiving stable maintenance therapy with methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta or erythropoiesis stimulating agents (ESAs) in Phase II or III clinical studies. They continued to receive methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta or comparator ESAs at the same weekly dose and by the same route of administration (sc or iv) as in the qualifying studies.

NCT ID: NCT00089986 Completed - Sepsis Clinical Trials

GR270773 In The Treatment Of Suspected Or Confirmed Gram-Negative Severe Sepsis In Adults

Start date: September 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective is to estimate the size of the GR270773 treatment effect on 28-day all-cause mortality for two doses of GR270773 versus placebo in adult subjects with suspected or confirmed Gram-negative severe sepsis. GR270773 will be administered as a three-day continuous intravenous infusion.

NCT ID: NCT00089492 Completed - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

A Study Comparing the Efficacy and Safety of Once-Daily Fuzeon (Enfuvirtide) Dosing Versus the Currently Recommended Twice-Daily Dosing in Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Type 1 (HIV-1) Infected Patients

Start date: July 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will assess the safety and efficacy of once-daily administration of Fuzeon compared with twice-daily administration in HIV-1 infected patients who have received prior treatment. Patients will also receive an optimized treatment consisting of antiretroviral (ARV) therapy as determined by the treating physician. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00088803 Completed - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

DNA Variations in the Gene in Young Patients With Wilms' Tumor

Start date: August 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

RATIONALE: Studying samples of blood from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that may occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. PURPOSE: This laboratory study is looking at DNA variations in the RASSF1A gene in young patients with Wilms' tumor.

NCT ID: NCT00088465 Completed - Clinical trials for Schizoaffective Disorder

Open-Label Study of Intramuscular Olanzapine Depot in Patients With Schizophrenia or Schizoaffective Disorder

Start date: August 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a long-term, open-label clinical study designed to enable longer-term treatment of patients completing other clinical studies with intramuscular olanzapine depot. Key objectives of the study are to: - Determine how well intramuscular (IM) olanzapine depot works during long-term treatment, - Evaluate the safety and tolerability of IM olanzapine depot during long-term treatment, - Determine the blood levels of IM olanzapine depot in patients during long-term treatment

NCT ID: NCT00087945 Completed - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Blood Levels of Abacavir in HIV Infected Adolescents

Start date: July 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The way abacavir (ABC) behaves in the body differs between children and adults, but little is known about ABC in adolescents. It is unclear if adult doses of ABC are appropriate for adolescents. The purpose of this study is to determine the blood levels of ABC in HIV infected adolescents who are on ABC-containing regimens.

NCT ID: NCT00087711 Completed - Clinical trials for Non Small Cell Lung Carcinoma

A Randomized Phase 3 Trial of Pemetrexed and Cisplatin Versus Gemcitabine and Cisplatin in Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: July 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is a randomized Phase 3 study comparing pemetrexed and cisplatin combination to gemcitabine and cisplatin for the treatment of Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NCSLC). Gemcitabine plus cisplatin is currently the standard of care for NSCLC. It is thought that pemetrexed plus cisplatin may be as effective and may have fewer side effects than the standard of care.

NCT ID: NCT00087178 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Comparison of Two Combination Chemotherapy Regimens in Treating Women With Breast Cancer

Start date: May 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as fluorouracil, epirubicin, cyclophosphamide, and doxorubicin, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy regimen is more effective in treating breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying two combination chemotherapy regimens to compare how well they work in treating women who have undergone surgery for breast cancer that has not spread to the lymph nodes.

NCT ID: NCT00086359 Completed - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Comparison of Anti-HIV Drug Combinations to Prevent Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV

Start date: July 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Pregnant women infected with HIV who take anti-HIV medications during pregnancy lower the risk of passing HIV to their infants. This study will compare how well two different combinations of anti-HIV medications control HIV in pregnancy, and whether these combinations of drugs are effective in preventing HIV from being transmitted from a pregnant woman to her baby. The two combinations are abacavir/lamivudine/zidovudine (ABC/3TC/ZDV) and zidovudine/lamivudine (ZDV/3TC) plus lopinavir/ritonavir (LPV/RTV).

NCT ID: NCT00086190 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Study of Antidepressants in Parkinson's Disease

Start date: June 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to find out if two antidepressant medications, paroxetine and venlafaxine, can help control depression in Parkinson's disease, and if these medications affect the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease such as tremor, stiffness, slowness, and balance.
