There are about 2459 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in New Zealand. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this study is to investigate the safety of intralesional (IL) PV-10 for the treatment of recurrent breast carcinoma. This study will also include a preliminary assessment of response of injected lesions by histologic assessment upon lesion excision at 1-3 weeks following IL PV-10 administration. Post-excision wound healing will be assessed clinically at 1 week and 4 weeks following excision of PV-10 injected lesions.
The purpose of the study is to determine whether lowering high blood pressure levels after the start of a stroke caused by bleeding in the brain (intracerebral haemorrhage) will reduce the chances of a person dying or surviving with a long term disability. The study will be undertaken in two phases: a vanguard phase in 400 patients, to plan for a main phase in 2000 patients.

High protein diets are popular among Maori, especially on the East Coast of the North Island. The purpose of this study was to compare the metabolic effects of a moderate carbohydrate, high protein diet (MCHP) with a high carbohydrate-high fibre (HCHF) diet on insulin sensitivity in Maori at increased risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
It has been proposed that a higher cut off for BMI (body mass index) is to be used in Maori to define overweight and obesity. However, no one has assessed the prevalence of co-morbid conditions associated with BMI. It is well known that Maori are at greater risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease compared to non-Maori and a delay in the identification of those who are overweight and obese may be detrimental for Maori. We will assess BMI, other measures of adiposity and prevalence of co-morbid conditions with a comparison with a similar matched non-Maori population.
The purpose of this study is to compare the performance and compare the wear characteristics of two polyethylene cup liners, Marathon™ and Enduron™, in the treatment of patients with hip joint disease requiring a total hip replacement. Patients who enter the study will be randomly allocated to one of the polyethylene cup liners, Marathon™ or Enduron™ and will be evaluated at regular intervals using clinical and x-ray assessments.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate long-term safety information of infliximab in patients who have participated in infliximab clinical studies in ulcerative colitis.
