There are about 5161 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Norway. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study evaluates induction therapy with carfilzomib-cyclophosphamide-dexamethasone before salvage high-dose melphalan with autologous stem cell support (HDT) in multiple myeloma patients with relapse after HDT done at diagnosis. In addition, the study evaluates the effect of maintenance therapy after salvage HDT in multiple myeloma. After salvage HDT half of the patients receive maintenance therapy with carfilzomib/dexamethasone while the other half are observed without maintenance therapy.
Simultaneous PET/MRI has the potential to improve the detection accuracy in recurrent prostate cancer, since it combines the excellent soft-tissue contrast of MRI with the high molecular sensitivity of PET in a single imaging session. The aim of this study is to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of simultaneous 18F-Fluciclovine PET/MRI for detection of recurrent prostate cancer.
Insomnia is a major public health concern. While cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is acknowledged as the best available intervention, there are unanswered questions about its wider dissemination, socio-economic benefits and its impact on health resource utilization. The aim of this randomized controlled trial (RCT) is to investigate the effectiveness of a fully automated online version of CBT-I compared with online patient education about sleep (PE). Outcome measures comprise changes in symptoms of insomnia, time off work due to sick leave, as well as medication and health resource utilization. Also, we will examine putative mediators and selected potential psycho-bio-social moderators of the effects of the intervention.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the molecular biology of the tumor in relation to treatment response to chemotherapy, in particular paclitaxel compared to the combination paclitaxel and carboplatin. The study is carried out in two different, separate cohorts: Cohort I: Patients with large primary breast cancer (> 2.0 cm) including locally advanced disease, are treated with weekly paclitaxel for 12 weeks, before continuing on anthracycline containing regimen for another 12 weeks before surgery. Patient are randomized 1:1 to receive carboplatin in addition to paclitaxel for the first 12 weeks of the treatment. Cohort II: Patients with metastatic disease, available for biopsies before and during therapy are included to receive paclitaxel for 24 weeks. Patients are randomized 1:1 to receive paclitaxel alone or paclitaxel in combination with carboplatin.
Several attempts have been made to refine selection criteria for cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) in heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Previously proposed parameters probably do not sufficiently reflect the underlying mechanical dyssynchrony of the left ventricle (LV). Earlier work of our research group suggests that better candidate selection can rely on the direct observation or measurement of this LV mechanical dyssynchrony by means of non-invasive imaging. In this study apical rocking and other non-invasive measures of LV mechanical dyssynchrony will be applied to evaluate regional myocardial workload and metabolism, and determine their predictive value in CRT response.

The Micra Registry is conducted within Medtronic's Product Surveillance Registry.
This project comprises a two-arm randomized controlled trial (RCT) complemented by qualitative research on innovative group-based intervention for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) performed in the primary health care and organized in collaboration with the services provided by a hospital's outpatient clinic. The RCT will be conducted by Nordland Hospital Trust, Bodø (NLSH), in collaboration with UiT The Arctic University of Norway (UiT) and the Norwegian Centre for Integrated Care and Telemedicine, University Hospital North Norway (NST). The overall purpose of the RCT is to demonstrate whether high-intensity individualised group-based core stability training (GroupCoreSIT) performed by physiotherapists (PTs) in the primary health care has effect on balance, walking and activities of daily living (ADL) in people with MS compared to standard care. Changes in quality of life and costs will also be studied to conclude whether the intervention is cost-effective. The qualitative study contains three parts. The first part aims to investigate users' experiences from participating in the new group intervention and in standard care. The researchers will particularly focus on reflections regarding content, feasibility, potential changes in ADL, self-management, and continuity of care. The second part will investigate how the PTs act and interact with the group while conducting the intervention, particularly how individualization is carried out, and the PTs' reflections from participating in the education and performance of the intervention. The third part explores health professionals' reflections regarding coordination of care in people with MS.
Phase II, single-arm study to assess the safety and efficacy of AZD9291 (80 mg, orally, once daily) in second-line (or later) patients with EGFR mutation-positive, locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC, who have progressed following treatment with an approved epidermal growth factor tyrosine kinase inhibitor agent.
HOPP Learning will be implemented in elementary schools in the Horten municipality and will assess the effect of a combined pedagogical approach, active learning, on a large student population. Students are to increase their amount of physical activity with learning, during a school day by one hour.
A Phase Ib/II multicentre open label study of bemcentinib (BGB324) as a single agent in participants with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) or Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) or in a combination with cytarabine or decitabine in AML participants. Bemcentinib is a potent selective small molecule inhibitor of Axl, a surface membrane protein kinase receptor which is overexpressed in up to half of AML cases.
