There are about 5161 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Norway. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
During the first four weeks of the trial, participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: three groups will receive fixed doses of TransCon PTH and one group will receive placebo. TransCon PTH or placebo will be administered as a subcutaneous injection using a pre-filled injection pen. Neither trial participants nor their doctors will know who has been assigned to each group. After the four weeks, participants will continue in the trial as part of a long-term extension study. During the extension, all participants will receive TransCon PTH, with the dose adjusted to their individual needs. This is a global trial that will be conducted in, but not limited to, the United States, Canada, Germany, Denmark, and Norway.
This is a global, Phase IIIb, multicenter, open-label, single-arm study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of acalabrutinib 100 mg twice daily (bid) in approximately 540 participants with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Participants will be enrolled into 3 following cohorts: treatment-naive (TN), relapsed/refractory (R/R), and prior ibrutinib therapy. For this study, participants in the UK will be enrolled ONLY into the R/R cohort or the prior ibrutinib cohort. Participants in the US will be enrolled ONLY into the TN or R/R cohort. Participants will remain on study intervention until completion of 48 cycles (28 days per cycle), or until study intervention discontinuation due to, for example disease progression, or toxicity, withdrawal of consent, loss to follow-up, death, or study termination by the sponsor whichever occurs first. The duration of the study will be approximately 72 months from the first participant enrolled. This duration includes an estimated 24-month recruitment time and an assumed 48 cycles of study intervention (28 days per cycle); additional study time will be accrued during the Disease Follow up period for those participants remaining on study intervention after completion of 48 cycles prior to the final data cutoff (DCO) (the amount of time will vary by participant).
Health in work - a measure for increased coping and work participation -An effect analysis of a health- and work environment intervention at the workplace. Part 1:quantitative data collection The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of the workplace intervention in the new Norwegian national programme Health in work (HelseIArbeid) through a pragmatic cluster-randomized study. The main hypothesis is that this interdisciplinary health and welfare intervention at the workplace reduces sick leave and improves mastering of common health problems more efficiently than a conventional welfare intervention. More specifically, it is hypothesized that the Health in work intervention has a better cost-effectiveness in terms of sick leave, use of health services and coping with common health problems indicated by an increased health-related quality of life.
This study will be comprised of 2 parts: Part 1 (dose escalation) will be conducted to evaluate the safety and tolerability of 2 doses (100 milligrams/kilogram [mg/kg] and 200 mg/kg) of eteplirsen in approximately 10 participants with DMD; Part 2 (dose finding and dose comparison) will be conducted for the selection of a high dose (100 mg/kg versus 200 mg/kg) and its comparison with the 30 mg/kg dose of eteplirsen, in approximately 144 participants with genetically confirmed deletion mutations amenable to treatment by skipping exon 51.
Primary Objective: To characterize the patients who receive Dupixent® (dupilumab) for AD in a real-world setting, with respect to their medical history, socio-demographic and disease characteristics, and prior and concomitant treatments of AD Secondary Objectives: - To characterize real-world use patterns of Dupixent® for AD (eg, used regimens, reason for initiation of new treatments, concomitant therapies, treatment durations and reasons for discontinuation and/or switching) - To assess the long-term effectiveness of Dupixent® in AD patients in a real-world setting - To assess comorbid atopic conditions and effects of treatment in comorbid atopic conditions in patients who receive Dupixent® for AD - To collect safety data on study participants
This study will explore healthcare providers' pediatric postoperative pain management knowledge and clinical practice. The aim of this study is to explore healthcare providers' knowledge and clinical practice in pediatric postoperative pain management in surgical wards, and to evaluate whether an educational intervention would improve postoperative pain management. This study has a pre-post intervention design. This study will be conducted on four surgical wards in one university hospital in Norway. There will be used different methodological approaches for data collections (interviews, questionnaire, observational study) with four measurement points; baseline (T1), and one month (T2), six months (T3) and 12 months (T4) after intervention.
This is a 2 part study. Part 1 is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dostarlimab plus carboplatin-paclitaxel followed by dostarlimab versus placebo plus carboplatin-paclitaxel followed by placebo; and Part 2 is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dostarlimab plus carboplatin-paclitaxel followed by dostarlimab plus niraparib versus placebo plus carboplatin-paclitaxel followed by placebo in participants with recurrent or primary advanced (Stage III or IV) endometrial cancer.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of single and multiple doses of BIIB094 administered via intrathecal (IT) injection to participants with Parkinson's Disease (PD). The secondary objective of this study is to evaluate the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of BIIB094.The study is open for PD patients with verified presence or absence of variations in the leucine-rich repeated kinase 2 (LRRK2) gene, but also for patients without any verified PD-related genetic variant.
Annually 13000 Norwegians experience an ischemic stroke. The number of stroke is anticipated to increase with 50% within 2030 due to a growing number of elderly. Many of them will have severe function deficits and reduced quality of life. The investigators have established a cohort consisting of 800 patients with first time ischemic stroke treated at hospitals in Central Norway. The investigators want to study the incidence and prognostic markers for death, recurrent stroke and severe functional deficits during a period of 10 years after the initial ischemic stroke. The investigators want to focus on the impact of physical functioning, the level of physical activity and use of medication for secondary prevention on the incidence of death, recurrent stroke and severe functional deficits. The investigators are especially interested in the importance of fulfilling the treatment targets for blood pressure and cholesterol and the importance of smoking cessation in stroke survivors. Our objective is to improve todays stroke treatment and achieve a more efficient use of the health resources in order to increase survival after stroke maintaining a good physical and psychological function and quality of life.
The war in Syria began in 2011 and refugees from this country have faced stressors including security risks, lack of access and availability of basic services and resources as well as family, community, and socio political tensions. Exposure to stressful events or situations, either short or long lasting, of exceptionally threatening or catastrophic nature is likely to cause pervasive distress in almost anyone, which might disturb daily life function, integration in society and ability to function in work and society, although this stress does not necessarily need to become an established medical diagnose. For a long time now, somatic and mental health systems have been overburdened and inaccessible both in Syria and in transit countries, and there is little available evidence of the effect of interventions targeting common health problems among refugees once established in their host countries. In this project, the University of Bergen, in close collaboration with the Centre for Migration Health (Bergen municipality) and the Centre for Crisis Psychology, have developed two treatment interventions that are both theoretically sound and practically scalable if shown to be effective. Among resettled asylum seekers and refugees, the primary aim of the project is to separately study in a quantitative way the effect on both physical and mental health of two different interventions: Physiotherapy activity and awareness intervention for participants with pain disorders and Teaching recovery techniques for participants with post-traumatic symptoms In addition, in a qualitative mode, our secondary aim is to analyse the processes by which the interventions help/do not help the patients to improve their health. Last, as the third aim of the study, cost effectiveness analyses will be conducted.
