NCT ID: NCT02679664 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Venous Thromboembolism

StAtins for Venous Event Reduction in Patients With Venous Thromboembolism Pilot Study

SAVER
Start date: November 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The SAVER pilot is a randomized, open-label pilot study to determine the feasibility of recruitment. In addition to feasibility data, the investigators will carefully collect clinical data to determine if rosuvastatin can reduce post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) in venous thromboembolism (VTE) patients. Eligible consenting patients who developed acute, symptomatic, and objectively confirmed proximal leg deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and/or PE will be randomized and equally allocated to 2 trial arms, either the treatment group (rosuvastatin tablet (20 mg/day) or the control group (usual care). The pilot trial consists of up to 4 study contacts over 6 months: screening, randomization, telephone follow-up (90 days), and final study visit (180 days).

NCT ID: NCT02678975 Completed - Glioblastoma Clinical Trials

Disulfiram in Recurrent Glioblastoma

Start date: January 2017
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Disulfiram (Antabuse®) is a well-tolerated, cheap, generic drug that has been in use since the 1950s to treat alcoholism. There is now an increasing amount of independent preclinical data to support disulfiram as an anticancer agent. The potency of disulfiram as an anticancer agent seems strengthened by copper. The investigators aim is to investigate disulfiram and copper-supplement as add-on treatment in glioblastoma patients with recurrence receiving alkylating chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT02678299 Active, not recruiting - Malignant Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Phase 1/2 Study of the Combination of Pixantrone, Etoposide, Bendamustine and, in CD20 Positive Tumors, Rituximab in Patients With Relapsed Aggressive Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas of B- or T-cell Phenotype - the P[R]EBEN Study

Start date: February 2016
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase 1/2 open label study to assess the safety and efficacy of pixantrone in combination with bendamustine, etoposide and , for CD20 positive B-cell lymphomas, rituximab (P[R]EBEN), in patients with relapsed aNHL of B- or T-cell phenotype.

NCT ID: NCT02677155 Completed - Follicular Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Sequential Intranodal Immunotherapy (SIIT) Combined With Anti-PD1 (Pembrolizumab) in Follicular Lymphoma

Lymvac-2
Start date: January 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Follicular lymphoma (FL) is the most common subtype of indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and is often diagnosed in advanced incurable stage. In our previous trail, Lymvac-1, patients were treated with sequential intratumoral injections of low-dose rituximab and autologous dendritic cells, combined with local radiotherapy at the same site. The aim was to overcome tumor tolerance. In this trial, clinical responses correlated strongly with systemic anti-tumor CD8+ T-cell responses detected in blood after therapy. The primary aim of the planned study (Lymvac-2) is to significantly improve rates of immunological and clinical responses by adding iv anti-PD-1 antibody (Pembrolizumab) relative to the cohort of patients previously treated with intranodal immunotherapy without Pembrolizumab (Lymvac-1). The study includes 10 patients with untreated or relapsed FL.

NCT ID: NCT02675036 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Tooth Eruption,Ectopic

Interceptive Study of Ectopic Eruption of Permanent Maxillary Canine Teeth

Start date: September 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to see whether extraction of the primary canine tooth or extraction of both the primary canine - and the primary first molar tooth is most effective in the treatment of palatally ectopic canine teeth in the maxilla. In addition the study will also measure pain and discomfort in relation to these two treatment alternatives.

NCT ID: NCT02674308 Completed - Clinical trials for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease

Entyvio (Vedolizumab) Long Term Safety Study

Entyvio PASS
Start date: March 24, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety of vedolizumab versus other biologic agents in participants with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) or Crohn's Disease (CD).

NCT ID: NCT02673242 Completed - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Disease, Chronic Obstructive

Inspiratory Muscle Training for Patients With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder

Start date: November 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is a randomized controlled trial with the aim of evaluating the effect of homebased inspiratory muscle training (IMT) for patients with COPD in Norway. The intervention group will train with threshold IMT for 6 weeks. The control group will not participate in any other training method or sham. Evaluation parameters are maximal inspiratory pressure, six minute walk test, COPD assessment test, modified Medical research council dyspnea scale and spirometry.

NCT ID: NCT02671279 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Low Calorie Diet in Morbidly Obese Patients

PreBar
Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a prospective study of morbidly obese patients that are planned to conduct bariatric surgery. The patients included in the study will conduct a low-calorie diet for 6 days prior to the operation and be admitted to hospital for this period. On admission and after finishing the diet a number of tests will be performed: Weigh, height, oral glucose tolerance test, bioimpedance measurement, and samples of blood, urine and a biopsy of subcutaneous adipose tissue.

NCT ID: NCT02667587 Completed - Brain Neoplasms Clinical Trials

An Investigational Immuno-therapy Study of Temozolomide Plus Radiation Therapy With Nivolumab or Placebo, for Newly Diagnosed Patients With Glioblastoma (GBM, a Malignant Brain Cancer)

CheckMate548
Start date: May 9, 2016
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate patients with glioblastoma that is MGMT-methylated (the MGMT gene is altered by a chemical change). Patients will receive temozolomide plus radiation therapy. They will be compared to patients receiving nivolumab in addition to temozolomide plus radiation therapy.

NCT ID: NCT02662985 Completed - Psoriatic Arthritis Clinical Trials

Study of Power Doppler Ultrasound (PDUS) to Measure Response of Secukinumab Treatment in Patients With Active Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA)

PDUS
Start date: August 22, 2016
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study was designed to leverage the sensitivity of ultrasonography available in clinical practice setting to better describe the time course of response to secukinumab (150 mg and 300 mg) on joint synovitis and enthesitis in PsA patients with an inadequate response to non-biologic DMARDs. PDUS changes in joint synovitis will be assessed using the global Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT)-European League against Rheumatism (EULAR) synovitis score (GLOESS) and changes in joint enthesitis were assessed using the OMERACT enthesitis score.
