NCT ID: NCT01882166 Terminated - Infertility, Female Clinical Trials

Time-lapse Monitoring of Early Embryo Development After Ovarian Stimulation During Infertility Treatment

Start date: October 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The number of children conceived by assisted reproductive technology is increasing in Nordic countries as well as worldwide. An important factor of success in treatment of infertility is a short "time to pregnancy" with impact on both economical aspects for the society and medical and psychological aspects for the couple. During treatment, success relies on 1) optimal stimulation of growth and maturation of multiple follicles by administration of exogenous follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and 2) selection of the fertilized egg / embryo with the highest potential of implantation to be transferred to the mother. In the present project stimulation of egg production by human urine derived FSH (Fostimon®) and recombinant FSH (Puregon®) will be compared. To this end early embryo development and kinetics after fertilization will be evaluated. The system to be used is time-lapse recording of embryo morphology during the first days of embryo development by means of an embryoscope. Aim of this study is to investigate if Puregon and urinary Fostimon have different effect on embryo quality. The hypothesis of the study is that stimulation of egg production by these two types of follicle stimulating hormone does not have the same effect on early embryo quality.

NCT ID: NCT01870609 Terminated - Clinical trials for Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma

Placebo Controlled Study of VS-6063 in Subjects With Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma

COMMAND
Start date: September 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is a Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study of defactinib (VS-6063) in subjects with malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) who have not progressed (confirmed partial response or stable disease) following ≥ 4 cycles of treatment with pemetrexed/cisplatin or pemetrexed/carboplatin. Prior to entry and randomization to the study, each subject must have tumor Merlin status(high or low) established by immunohistochemistry performed at a central laboratory. Subjects will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive oral VS-6063 400 mg twice per day, or matched placebo. Randomization will be stratified by tumor Merlin status (high versus low). Progression will be assessed both locally and by central review using the Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (RECIST) Version 1.1. Subjects will continue to receive treatment until disease progression or other discontinuation criteria are met. Following documentation of nonfatal disease progression, all subjects will be followed for overall survival by telephone contact every 2 months until end of life or the close of the study.

NCT ID: NCT01867918 Terminated - Clinical trials for Metastatic Colo-rectal Cancer

LOTCOL Study: Local Treatment of Colo-rectal Liver Met

LOTCOL
Start date: May 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study the investigators will include colo-rectal cancer (CRC) patients starting last line of standard palliative chemotherapy. Eligible patients include patients with KRAS mutation starting line or KRAS wild type starting line treatment. Standard treatment today for these patients is chemotherapy only and median overall survival (OS) is about 10 months. The hypothesis is that local treatment in addition to systemic treatment will increase time to progression, progression free survival and overall survival compared to patients who receive systemic chemotherapy only. The investigators experience with local treatment of liver metastases in CRC patients is that side-effects of treatment in general are minor, although gastric bleeding have been observed after stereotactic body radiation therapy.

NCT ID: NCT01866904 Terminated - Clinical trials for Stable Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Myocardial Infarction

Long-Term rIsk, Clinical manaGement and Healthcare Resource Utilization of Stable CAD in Post MI Patients

TIGRIS
Start date: June 19, 2013
Phase:
Study type: Observational

THis study is intended to provide contemporary data on the burden of disease in patients 1 to 3 years post-MI, including a description of patient characteristics, current treatment patterns, rate of major CV events, and healthcare resource utilization in a 'real world' patient population at high atherothrombotic risk.

NCT ID: NCT01866553 Terminated - Clinical trials for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Nilotinib Plus Pegylated Interferon-α2b in CML

Start date: April 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this trial is to assess the effect of switching CML patients, who have been treated with imatinib ≥ 2 years and who have stable detectable molecular residual disease between 0.01-1.0% (IS), to the combination of Nilotinib and PegIFN, in terms of the proportion of patients who achieve confirmed MR4.0.

NCT ID: NCT01865903 Terminated - Weight Loss Clinical Trials

Nutritional Problems and Changes in Body Composition in Patients With Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (LEKS)

LEKS
Start date: June 15, 2013
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Weight loss and loss of lean body mass are common and associated with adverse outcomes such as loss of strength, reduced immune- and pulmonary function and increased disability in advanced cancer. Progressive weight loss interferes with cancer therapy and is responsible for reduced quality of life (QoL) as well as shorter survival irrespective of tumour mass or presence of metastases. Weight loss in advanced cancer is regarded as a major clinical challenge because of its serious consequences, its varying aetiology and the contribution of multiple pathophysiological mechanisms that are poorly disentangled.

NCT ID: NCT01854307 Terminated - Pneumoperitoneum Clinical Trials

The Influence of Pneumoperitoneum on Minimal Invasive Cardiac Output Measurements

Start date: May 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Perioperative goal directed fluid therapy may reduce complication rate after surgery. Minimal invasive cardiac output monitoring is a key method to guide fluid therapy. More operations are being performed by keyhole surgery (laparoscopy). For laparoscopy, the abdomen is filled with carbon dioxide. Increased pressure in the abdomen may influence minimal cardiac output monitoring, therefore minimal cardiac output monitoring is not recommended during laparoscopy. This study aims to validate minimal cardiac output monitoring during laparoscopy and therefore facilitate for goal directed fluid therapy.

NCT ID: NCT01849874 Terminated - Clinical trials for Low-grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

A Study of MEK162 vs. Physician's Choice Chemotherapy in Patients With Low-grade Serous Ovarian, Fallopian Tube or Peritoneal Cancer

Start date: June 27, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The MILO Study (MEK Inhibitor in Low-grade Serous Ovarian Cancer) is a Phase 3 study during which patients with recurrent or persistent low-grade serous (LGS) carcinomas of the ovary, fallopian tube or primary peritoneum will receive either investigational study drug MEK162 or a chemotherapy chosen by the physician (liposomal doxorubicin, paclitaxel or topotecan). Patients will be followed to compare the effectiveness of the study drug to that of the selected chemotherapies. Patients may be eligible to crossover from physician's choice chemotherapy to MEK162 if they meet certain inclusion criteria including centrally confirmed disease progression. Approximately 360 patients from North America, Europe and Australia will be enrolled in this study.

NCT ID: NCT01843335 Terminated - Clinical trials for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Contrast-enhanced Ultrasound in Follow-up After Endovascular Aneurysm Repair

Start date: September 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

X-ray computed tomography imaging (CT) is routinely used in follow-up after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) has been shown to give accurate information about endoleak after EVAR. Benefits of CEUS over CT include less radiation exposure, avoidance of renal function deterioration due to repeated X-ray contrast agent application and decrease in the cost of EVAR follow-up. This study is designed to investigate if results from literature are reproducible in St Olavs Hospital in Trondheim (Norway), to gain experience with the technique and to introduce CEUS as an alternative for detection of endoleak in this hospital.
