NCT ID: NCT00105378 Completed - Malnutrition Clinical Trials

Dutch EASYcare Study

Start date: April 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to study the effects of nursing home visits in independently living elderly people on their functional performance and health-related quality of life. Study of Micafungin in Patients With Invasive Candidiasis or Candidemia

Start date: September 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of two dose levels of micafungin versus caspofungin in the treatment of proven invasive candidiasis or candidemia.

NCT ID: NCT00104299 Completed - Vasculitis Clinical Trials

Rituximab for the Treatment of Wegener's Granulomatosis and Microscopic Polyangiitis

RAVE
Start date: January 2005
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA)-associated vasculitis is the most common type of small blood vessel inflammation in adults. ANCA-associated vasculitis includes Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) and microscopic polyangiitis (MPA). Rituximab is a man-made antibody used to treat certain types of cancer. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of rituximab in treating patients with WG and MPA. Study hypothesis: Rituximab is not inferior to conventional therapy in its ability to induce disease remission by Month 6.

NCT ID: NCT00104182 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Comparison of Insulin Detemir Morning, Insulin Detemir Evening and NPH Insulin Evening in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: February 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Europe and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this trial is to compare the use of Insulin Detemir once a day (morning or evening) to NPH Insulin once a day (evening) when added to treatment with oral antidiabetic drugs in patients with Type 2 diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT00104013 Completed - Alzheimer Disease Clinical Trials

Study of Xaliproden (SR57746A) in Patients With Mild-to-Moderate Dementia of the Alzheimer's Type

Start date: November 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess xaliproden's potential capacity of slowing the deterioration of cognitive and global functions in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. The patients participating in this study will take orally once daily xaliproden or placebo (inactive substance pill).

NCT ID: NCT00103506 Completed - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

Study of DOXIL/CAELYX (Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin) and VELCADE (Bortezomib) or VELCADE Monotherapy for the Treatment of Relapsed Multiple Myeloma

Start date: December 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate time to progression, overall survival, response rate and safety for the two open-label treatment groups; DOXIL/CAELYX in combination with VELCADE vs. VELCADE monotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT00103051 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Gemcitabine, Cisplatin, and Gefitinib in Treating Patients Who Are Undergoing Surgery for Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: December 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Gefitinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving gemcitabine and cisplatin together with gefitinib before surgery may shrink the tumor so it can be removed. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving gemcitabine and cisplatin together with gefitinib works in treating patients who are undergoing surgery for stage III non-small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00102843 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effect of Betaine and Folic Acid on Vascular Function in Healthy Humans

Start date: October 2002
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether lowering of fasting homocysteine concentrations improves vascular function in healthy volunteers, irrespective of the homocysteine-lowering agent.

NCT ID: NCT00102804 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Pemetrexed and Best Supportive Care Versus Placebo and Best Supportive Care in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

Start date: March 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is a randomized Phase 3, double-blind study of maintenance pemetrexed plus best supportive care versus placebo plus best supportive care in NSCLC. Participants must have received 1 of 6 induction regimens for 4 cycles and did not have progressive disease prior to randomization (enrollment) into this trial.
