There are about 2118 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Malaysia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Overweight and Obesity is a growing health problem worldwide. Lifestyle changes such as decreased physical activity, increased sedentary behaviour and unhealthy eating habits has contribute to this problem. According to World Health Organization (2016), more than 1.9 billion adults aged 18 years and older were overweight (39% of men and 40% of women).Regular exercise is the key contributor to energy expenditure and is essential for energy balance and weight control. Interval training (IT) has been commonly used for decades with purpose to improve body health and reduce weight loss and this exercise differs from the conventional aerobic exercise and endurance exercise as IT typically involves repeated bouts of relatively intense exercise interspersed by periods of lower- intensity effort or complete rest for recovery. One of the most common type of IT is sprint interval training (SIT). SIT involves 'supramaximal' effort (>100% VO2max) work bouts, traditionally structured as four to six 30s all-out effort and each round separated by 4 minutes of recovery period of a low intensity exercise. Potential physiological adaptation of SIT are highlighted by various studies reporting cardiovascular, skeletal muscle adaptations, increase fat oxidation that facilitate increases in both aerobic and anaerobic performance. In addition, SIT is able to improve maximal rate of oxygen consumption (VO2max), at the same time improving the peripheral vascular structure and function, enzymes of fat metabolism and increases insulin sensitivity. Previous SIT studies have included young healthy men and women, healthy obese young women, all of which have shown that SIT is effective for fat loss and improvement of some health parameters. However, whether SIT protocol is equally effective in improving the anthropometric measures in men and women remain unknown.
This is an open-label, randomised, multicenter, Mircera-controlled, parallel-group, Phase III study to determine whether subcutaneous administered efepoetin alfa is as effective and well tolerated as subcutaneous Mircera for anaemia correction and maintenance in erythropoiesis stimulating agent (ESA)-naïve subjects who have CKD and are not on dialysis. ESA prior users who have stopped using ESA at least 12 weeks till screening will also be eligible for this study provided they fulfil all the subject entry criteria.
Prehypertention is defined as systolic blood pressure between 120 and 139 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure between 80 and 89 mmHg. People with prehypertension have the higher risk to develop hypertension compared to people with normal blood pressure (normotensive) especially when getting old, therefore prehypertension is known for preliminary stage of hypertension. Framingham Heart Study have shown the progression rate from prehypertension to hypertension was as high as 19% over 4 years. Prehypertension will also lead to abnormality of the cardiovascular system. Thus it is very important to identify the prehypertension at early stage, so that steps can be taken to slow down the progression to hypertension and to normalize the blood pressure level. Minimal reduction in blood pressure produce a large benefit to human health, as stated in JNC (Joint National Committee) VII report, a 5mmHg decrease in systolic blood pressure would be able to reduce as much as 9% mortality rate caused by coronary heart disease, 14% mortality related to stroke, and 7% decrease in all-cause mortality. Previous studies have focused on effect of music therapy in hypertensive elderly, prehypertensive pregnant women, prehypertensive elderly but no research has been conducted on prehypertensive young adults. In addition, prehypertension increase risk of developing cardiovascular disease, thus early intervention is needed to prevent the progression of prehypertension to hypertension status and normalize the blood pressure level.
This study compares the time taken to intubate between Cmac video laryngoscopy with Glidescope video laryngoscopy in paediatric patients aged 3-12 years old.
Sarcopenic obesity (SO) is a geriatric syndrome, characterized by reduced muscle mass and function, and increase in body fat. It is classified as a new category of obesity in elderly. It found to be associated with higher risk of physical disability, hospitalization, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disorders and mortality. According to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and The Pacific's (UNESCAP) 2016 population data, Malaysians aged sixty and above contribute to 9.5% of the population. The aging individuals are estimated to reach 23.5% of the population by 2050. In the matter of human health, SO increases the risk of falls and fracture, deteriorates the performance of activities of daily living, enhances the risk of getting multiple health-related outcomes and results in physical disability. Eventually, the quality of life is adversely affected. In financial terms, SO cause significant burden to health care systems. Both hospitalization and cost of care during hospitalization are increased. Therefore, study of SO has experienced a revitalized research interest due to its negative impact on public health. In addition, there is significant lack of literature related to prevalence of SO in community-dwelling elderly in Malaysia, hence, a need to investigate this phenomenon.
BIOFLOW-DAPT is a prospective, multi-center, international, two-arm randomized controlled clinical study. A total of 1'948 subjects will be randomized 1:1 to receive either Orsiro Mission or Resolute Onyx. After index procedure, all patients will receive DAPT (ASA + P2Y12 inhibitor) for 30 days, followed by monotherapy with either P2Y12 inhibitor or ASA only until the end of the study. Clinical follow-up visits will be scheduled at 1, 6 and 12 months post-procedure.

Theories support that nearly all the movements performed by athletes- from rebounding to steal the basketball, to riding a bicycle occur within a small range of motion and training in partial range can improve the isometric strength within the range of motion which it is trained and also increase the full range of motion (FROM) strength as well. The best training method to improve the shooting accuracy among basketball players remains unclear, despite the numerous training methods being available. The aim of this study is to compare the effect of tricpes full range of motion vs triceps partial range of motion training on shooting accuracy among recreational basket ball players. The previous research has mostly focused on measuring the isokinetic strength at different speed in relation to shooting accuracy and there is limited research which has explored the triceps strength using partial range exercise.
