There are about 5012 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Mexico. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
In the present study, consecutive patients, older than 18 years, of both genders will be included. The diagnosis of reduced Heart Failure (HfrEF) according to: Clinical pattern, laboratories and Cardiac imaging (ESC criteria). Treatment will be assigned in two groups: Bumetanide and another group will be received Indapamide. Each group received maximum tolerated dose for seven days with Clinical and labs evaluations will be every 48 hrs. (Face-to-face and/or telephone visits). Serum and urinary labs, EKG´s, Echo will be evaluated. Daily in-home register will made. Final points were: Mortality, Urinary failure, Clinical Impairment, Hospital admissions, Oedema. (MUCHO). All patients will be followed for 30 days.
This is a Phase III, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicentre study assessing the efficacy and safety of durvalumab compared with placebo, as consolidation therapy in patients with locally advanced, unresectable, non-small cell lung cancer (Stage III), who have not progressed following definitive, platinum-based, chemoradiation therapy.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of relatlimab plus nivolumab, alone or in combination with various standard-of-care treatments in participants with gastric cancer (GC) or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma that has come back or spread to other places in the body after prior therapy.
Primary Objective: Assess effectiveness of insulin glargine (U300) in achieving glycemic goal measured by hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). Secondary Objectives: - Assess effectiveness in achieving glycemic goal measured by HbA1c; - Assess effectiveness on change in HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and self-monitored plasma glucose (SMPG) ; - Assess requirement for intensification of therapy by additional antidiabetics. - Assess incidence of hypoglycemia; - Assess other safety endpoints: adverse events (AEs), serious adverse events (SAEs); - Assess change in body weight.
Objective: To estimate the value of uterine, fetal cerebral Doppler and oligohydramnios to predict abnormal fetal heart rate tracings in pregnancies at or beyond 41 weeks
The investigator's group at the Mexican Institute of Social Security has worked for more than 20 years in the scientific research of the plant species Galphimia glauca Cav., which is used in Mexican Traditional Medicine for the treatment of mental disorders. With the obtained results it was possible the development of a phytopharmaceutical elaborated with the extract of this plant, which was standardized in its content of Galphimine-B (G-B). This new compound is a nor, seco-triterpene, which possesses selective effects on the central nervous system. Through electrophysiological neuronal unitary records it was identified that G-B acts on the ventral tegmental area (VTA), and exerts its effect on (N-methyl-D-aspartate) NMDA receptors in dopaminergic neurons. The new phytopharmaceutical, elaborated from a standardized extract (in its G-B content) of G. glauca, was subjected to a double blind and randomized clinical study that compared its efficacy and therapeutic tolerability with a similar drug formulated with lorazepam in patients with diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). In a total of 152 patients, it was evidenced that the phytomedicine administered orally (for 4 weeks) was able to significantly reduce anxiety, in a similar way as lorazepam did, but with better tolerability. Several patients who were treated with lorazepam had to leave the study because they had daytime sleepiness. In clinical practice, different benzodiazepines have specific indications. In the case of anxiety disorders, the drug of first choice is Alprazolam, this, because it manifests a more powerful anxiolytic effect with a lower degree of sedation and daytime sleepiness. Objective: The present project aims to compare the efficacy and therapeutic safety of an elaborated phytopharmaceutical with the standardized extract of Galphimia glauca with Alprazolam .
The present study aims to support previous research on antioxidant therapy effects in diabetic retinopathy outcome. The investigators intend to assess 180 patients with diabetic retinopathy in different stages (moderate, severe and proliferative), whom either will be assigned to placebo group or combined antioxidant therapy. Each group will receive the intervention for 12 months. Such intervention consists in taking one tablet (placebo or antioxidant therapy) orally, a day. At baseline, blood and urine samples will be collected in order to assess metabolic and oxidative stress status, mitochondrial function or dysfunction, liver and kidney function. In addition, fluorescein angiography will be done for the categorization of diabetic retinopathy. After six months and at the end of the intervention, blood and urine measurements as well as angiographies will be done for comparing the outcomes between both groups and correlate oxidative stress status, mitochondrial dysfunction with grade of retinopathy.
The diseases derived from Metabolic Syndrome caused 75% of the total deaths. It is more profitable to invest in prevention than in the treatment of most cardiovascular diseases. Several institutions consider prevention as one of the main priorities in public health. Patients with Metabolic Syndrome, undergoing Mediterranean diet and exercise program, will have lower fat mass, greater lean mass and muscle strength; in addition to the lower expression of proinflammatory biomarkers, compared to those subjected to standard diet and exercise. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the changes in body composition and cardiovascular risk in the population with metabolic syndrome undergoing a Mediterranean diet program and / or controlled physical activity. Design: Experimental, longitudinal design, controlled clinical trial, randomized. Population with Metabolic Syndrome in which the effect of Mediterranean diet and / or controlled physical activity will be compared on anthropometric parameters, body composition, cardiometabolic risk and plasma biomarkers.
