There are about 5012 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Mexico. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study evaluates the effectiveness of The Behavioral Activation Protocol, a psychological treatment for the intervention of mild to moderate depression. It is compared the effectiveness of the treatment with the changes of the same participants before and after the treatment. The changes are being assessed through subjective measures such as psychometrics and objective measures such as electroencephalography.
Cerebral small vessel disease is a frequent cause of cognitive disability among older adults (OAs) in Mexico that imposes a significant burden on the health system and OAs' families. We have called the program Mind and Movement for Cognitive Health (MeMo-Salud-Cog-3). Programs to prevent or delay OAs' cognitive decline are scarce. Methods and analysis: A double-blind, randomized clinical trial will be conducted. The study will aim to evaluate two 24-week double-task (aerobic and cognitive) square-stepping exercise programs for OAs at risk of cognitive decline-one program with and another without caregiver participation-and to compare these with an aerobic-balance-stretching exercise program (control group). 255 OAs (85 per group) affiliated with the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) between 60 and 65 years of age with self-reported cognitive concerns will participate. They will be stratified by education level and randomly allocated to the groups. The intervention will last 24 weeks, and the effect of each program will be evaluated 12, 24, and 52 weeks after the intervention. Participants' demographic and clinical characteristics will be collected at baseline. The outcomes will include: (i) general cognitive function; (ii) specific cognitive functions; (iii) dual-task gait; (iv) blood pressure; (v) carotid intima-media thickness; (vi) carotid arterial compliance; (vii) OAs' health-related quality of life; and (viii) caregiver burden. We will estimate differences in outcomes between each intervention group and the control group at baseline and follow-up evaluations. We will assess differences-in-differences (D-in-D) treatment effects using a D-in-D estimator. If we identify statistically significant differences in participants' baseline characteristics between the groups, we will adjust the D-in-D estimators by these covariates using generalized linear regression models. Ethics and dissemination: The study was approved by the IMSS Ethics and Research Committee (registration number 2018-785-095). All participants will sign a consent form prior to their participation. The study results will be disseminated to IMSS authorities, healthcare providers and the research community.
This prospective study is focused on the validation of the genetic signature of 27 genes as a predictor of the response to concomitant chemotherapy treatment followed by brachytherapy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. The objective of this study is to make a massive suicide risk and social behavior assessment in 24 pre-graduate education centers in Mexico City (approximately 30,000 students aged between 15 and 22 years), taking also into account other outcomes such as depression, anxiety, alcohol and drugs. For this, an app for Smartphone (MeMind) or a web platform (www.MeMind.net) will be used in which the participants will take a self-administered questionnaire, composed of several psychometric instruments. Our main hypothesis is that identification of suicide risk in the Mexico City's student community is feasible using their own smartphones and can serve as both a population screening tool for early specialist referral, as well as a tool for evaluating social behavior strategies and their relation to suicide behavior.
The objective of this study is to make a suicide screening in the entire population of Milpa Alta (approximately 150,000 inhabitants), taking into account other outcomes such as depression, anxiety, alcohol and drugs. For this, an app for Smartphone (MeMind) or a web platform (www.MeMind.net) will be used in which the participants will take a self-administered questionnaire, composed of several psychometric instruments . It is expected that 70% of the population between 15 and 70 years old can do so directly with their own Smartphone, although web access posts will be enabled in educational and municipal units to avoid discrimination based on age or access to technology. Our main hypothesis argues that the early identification of people at risk in almost the entire community can be done with an App for Smartphone, serving to depict a map of mental health and related needs of the population, serving for the planning of healthcare services of the local environment, and ultimately for the best assistance of groups and individuals with greater needs through their identification and early reference to medical assistance.

This study evaluates the effect of zinc over the duration, severity and relapse of acute diarrheic disease, in children between 6 and 59 months of age. One study group will receive a tablet that contains 20 mg of zinc, and the other study group will receive a tablet,that does not contain zinc, it is a tablet that investigators will use as control.
