There are about 7997 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Japan. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this survey is to evaluate effectiveness of EYLEA on Quality of Life (QOL). The QOL is evaluated by using Japanese version (v.1.4 - interviewer administered format) of National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire-25 (NEI VFQ-25) and compared at baseline and at the 6 and 12 months after start of EYLEA treatment.
This study is a regulatory post-marketing surveillance in Japan, and it is a local prospective and observational study of patients who have received EYLEA for Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). The objective of this study is to assess safety and effectiveness of EYLEA using in real clinical practice. A total of 4,000 patients are to be enrolled and assessed in 3 years standard observational period. An annual follow-up survey will be conducted for 5 years at the longest after standard observational period.
This protocol is intended to formally collect data on the treatment of aHUS with eculizumab in Japanese patients.
This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of AGN-229666 for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MP-424 with IFN beta and RBV in patients with genotype 1/2 hepatitis C, who are treatment-naïve or have received its treatment before.
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MP-424 with PEG-IFN Alfa-2a and RBV in patients with genotype 1 hepatitis C, who are naïve to its treatment or relapsed after previous treatment.
This is a 48-week, randomised, multi-centre, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group investigation of the efficacy and safety of intravenous (IV) ozanezumab (GSK1223249) compared to placebo in subjects with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Following a screening period of up to four weeks, eligible subjects will be randomised (1:1) to receive IV placebo or 15 milligram (mg)/ kilogram (kg) IV ozanezumab every 2 weeks for a period of 48 weeks with a follow-up visit around 14 weeks after the last infusion. A total of approximately 294 eligible subjects will be randomised from approximately 37 centers worldwide. The primary objective is to assess the effect of ozanezumab on the physical function and survival of ALS subjects over a treatment period of 48 weeks. Function will be measured using the ALS Functional Rating Scale - Revised (ALSFRS-R). Secondary objectives include the evaluation of other clinical outcomes associated with ALS (respiratory function, muscle strength, progression free survival and overall survival) in support of the primary objective. Quality of life, safety, tolerability, immunogenicity and pharmacokinetics (ozanezumab and riluzole) will also be assessed.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with SYR-472 in diabetic patients.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the absorbability of calcium tablet and calcium ion water.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects on lung function of a combination of ADOAIR 50/250mcg twice daily plus tiotropium bromide 18mcg once daily compared with the individual treatments (tiotropium bromide 18mcg once daily alone and ADOAIR 50/250mcg twice daily alone) in Japanese subjects with COPD. The study will utilize a three-way cross-over design with a 2-week wash-out period between each 4-week consecutive treatment period. The aim is to support the rationale for "triple combination" therapy by demonstrating that treatment with both ADOAIR and tiotropium can potentially produce improved, clinically relevant effects compared with either treatment alone. This study will utilize a range of lung function measures in order to fully assess the benefits of triple therapy. The primary endpoint will be based on airways conductance measured using plethysmography (sGaw measured over 4hours post dose (AUC 0-4hr) on Day 28). Secondary endpoints will include lung function measures based on plethysmography and spirometry. The lung function measures will be supported by measurement of the use of relief salbutamol .
