There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary objective of this clinical study is to investigate the suitability of an infant formula containing five different human milk oligosaccharides to support normal physical growth (evaluated per weight gain), in comparison with infant formula without human milk oligosaccharides, when the formula is fed as the sole source of nutrition.
RATIONALE: The use of tailored axillary dissection as a tailored procedure will avoid surgical overtreatment by selectively removing the lymph nodes that are affected by the cancer, thereby sparing many women the unnecessary complications of a radical surgery, providing a better quality of life while keeping the same efficacy. PURPOSE: The phase III trial is evaluating the optimal treatment for breast cancer patients in terms of surgery and radiotherapy.
The patients will be randomized into two groups of 100 subjects each one. One arm will be randomized to treatment with a negative topical pressure system (Sistema Prevena ™); while the other arm ("control group") will be randomized to treatment with standard medication with sterile gauzes and a TNT patch or medicated patch as normal traditional medication in use. The medications with a negative topical pressure system (Sistema Prevena ™) will be applied directly in the Operating Room. Thereafter the medication will be checked in the inpatient ward after 48 hours from the intervention, evaluating the possible absorption of exudate on the surface. If no absorption are detected within 48 hours, the medication won't be removed. The medication will be renewed in the 7th day (± 2 days) post-operative; and to follow every 7 (± 2 days) until the points are removed. If the wound continues to progress towards recovery, the protocol will continue until discharge and / or rehabilitation and / or surgery. For each evaluation the photograph of the medication must be taken (which will be deprived of all the identifying elements of the patient).
A 12-month study to measure the efficacy and safety of abaloparatide in men with osteoporosis.
The purpose of this study was to confirm the preliminary evidence from early clinical trials that midostaurin may provide clinical benefit not only to AML patients with the FLT3-mutations but also in FLT3-MN (SR<0.05) AML (FLT3 mutant to wild type signal ratio below the 0.05 clinical cut-off). This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of midostaurin in combination with daunorubicin or idarubicin and cytarabine for induction and intermediate-dose cytarabine for consolidation, and midostaurin single agent post-consolidation therapy in newly diagnosed patients with FLT3-MN (SR<0.05) AML.
Primary Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of alirocumab administered every 2 weeks (Q2W) and every 4 weeks (Q4W) versus placebo after 24 weeks of double-blind (DB) treatment on low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels in participants with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (heFH) 8 to 17 years of age on optimal stable daily dose of statin therapy ± other lipid modifying therapies (LMTs) or a stable dose of non-statin LMTs in case of intolerance to statins. Secondary Objectives: - To evaluate the efficacy of alirocumab versus placebo on LDL-C levels. - To evaluate the effects of alirocumab versus placebo on other lipid parameters. - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of alirocumab in comparison with placebo. - To evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of alirocumab after open label treatment. - To evaluate the development of anti-alirocumab antibodies.
Currently, the most positive documented outcomes of periodontal regenerative therapy (PRT) in intrabony defects (IBDs) have been achieved with a combination of bone grafts ( BGs) and a regeneration material like membranes in guided tissue regeneration ( GTR) or enamel matrix derivative (EMD) in Induced Periodontal Regeneration ( IPR) technique. Among the graft materials only autogenous bone grafts ( ABGs).and demineralized freeze-dried bone allografts (DFDBA), are considered regenerative materials. Polypeptide growth factors revealed a potential application in PRT periodontal because are the biological mediators during wound healing and regeneration and autologous platelet concentrates ( PC) constitute a safe and convenient approach to deliver them. Among PC, platelet-rich fibrin ( PRF) belongs to a group of second-generation blood autologous products prepared by peripheral blood centrifugation without any nonclotting agent, so to obtain a dense three-dimensional clot architecture that concentrates platelets, fibrin, leukocytes, cytokines, and sustain cellular migration. This clot is then compressed to obtain elastic and very strong membranes that can be used directly as membranes or as a filling agent, after chopping, alone or in combination with BGs. Several studies demonstrate that PRF is effective in promoting bone regeneration (BR) when used alone or in combination with BG during oral/ periodontal surgery. To date, there are very few published clinical controlled trials that compare the results of PRF + BGs to the outcomes of PRF / BG alone in the treatment of IBDs and no study about PRF + ABG in the same defects. Only one case report tested the use of PRF + ABG mixed with bovine hydroxyapatite in the treatment of insufficient alveolar ridge width in aesthetic area. The aim of the present study is to verify if the combined use of PRF + ABG in the management of IBDs may be a treatment modality clinically "not inferior" to that with EMD + ABG.
The aim of the prospective, multicentre, single-arm study is to assess safety and efficacy of a drug eluting stent in Nitinol alloy (NiTiDES) in term of vessel patency and composite event-free survival rate up to two years follow-up in focal/medium length lesions in patients with ischemic obstruction of superficial femoral arteries or/and proximal popliteal arteries.
Study Title A post market registry of Abluminus® sirolimus eluting coronary stent system for percutaneous intervention in patients with diabetes mellitus Purpose The purpose of this registry is to prospectively capture clinical data of ABLUMINUS® sirolimus eluting stent in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Investigational Device ABLUMINUS® sirolimus eluting stent consists of four components; a bare metal stent (BMS), a delivery system, the bio absorbable polymer delivery matrix and Abluminal surface coating on stent and parts of balloon in Pre-crimped condition the anti-proliferative drug, Sirolimus. Study Design Prospective, Observational, Multi‐center registry Estimated Enrolment 1000 patients End points Primary Endpoints: Target Lesion Failure that is composite of cardiac death, target-vessel myocardial infarction, and clinically indicated target lesion revascularisation within 12 months. Components of the primary end point are defined as follows: - Cardiac Death: any death due to immediate cardiac cause, deaths related to the procedure, unwitnessed death, and death of unknown cause. - Target Vessel Myocardial infarction: categorised according to the Minnesota electrocardiographic criteria (Q-wave and non-Q-wave). Spontaneous myocardial infarction was defined as a typical rise and fall of creatinine kinase-MB fraction or troponin in the presence of at least one of several conditions: ischaemic symptoms, new pathological Q waves, ischaemic electrocardiographic changes, or pathological evidence of acute myocardial infarction. Peri-procedural myocardial infarction was defined as an increase in creatinine kinase to more than twice the normal value with increased values of confirmatory biomarkers (creatinine kinase-MB fraction or troponin higher than usual). Target-vessel-related myocardial infarction was one related to the target vessel or that could not be clearly related to another vessel. - Target Lesion Revascularisation: any repeat percutaneous or surgical intervention due to a stenosis or occlusion within the device of the index procedure. Secondary Endpoints - Stent thrombosis [Time Frame: 1 month, 12 months, yearly]. Definite and probable stent thrombosis according to ARC definitions; - Cardiac death [Time Frame: 1 month, 12 months, yearly] - Target Vessel Myocardial infarction [Time Frame: 1 month, 12 months, yearly] - Target Lesion Revascularisation [Time Frame: 1 month, 12 months, yearly] - Device Success at 24 hours - Lesion Success at 24 hours - Procedural Success at 24 hours Eligibility Eligible Age: 18 Years and older.
