The objective of study IOA-289-102 is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of escalating doses of IOA-289 in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer in combination with standard chemotherapy consisting of gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel. Blood and tumour samples for PK and PD will be collected and assessments for determination of any clinical efficacy will be completed.
The present multicenter, retrospective and prospective observational study, aims to evaluate an ultra-hypofractionated whole breast irradiation schedule (WBI, 26 Gy in 5 fractions), in order to confirm literature data (FAST-F study) in the clinical practice. Patient population included women affected by early stage breast cancer (BC), both invasive and ductal carcinoma in situ, receiving ultra-hypofractionated WBI (with or without a tumor bed boost) after breast conserving surgery (BCS). Main exclusion criteria are mastectomy and regional nodal irradiation. Neoadjuvant and/or adjuvant systemic therapies are allowed. The primary otcome is acute and chronic toxicity evaluation. Secondary outcomes are: overall servival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), rates of local and loco-regional recurrences, distant metastasis occurrence, cosmetic outcome and quality of life (QoL) assessment. Acute and late toxicities will be scored according to the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) scale version 5.0. Cosmetic assessment will be graded according to the Harvard scale. Frontal photographs of both breasts will be used to evaluate toxicity and cosmetic results. For QoL assessment the EORTC (European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer), QLQ-C30 and EORTC-QLQ-BR23 questionnaires will be administered.
Diabetes is a chronic-degenerative metabolic disorder that has reached pandemic proportions mainly because of the increasing incidence and prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D). Diabetes hurts cardiovascular function due to chronic hyperinsulinemia and hyperglycemia, along with increased advanced glycation end products (AGEs) causing nonenzymatic glycation of soft tissues, including muscle and tendon, and leading to an increase in muscle and tendon stiffness. In turn, the stiffening of the muscle-tendon complex reduces its capability to change in shape, affecting its potential for modulating the mechanical request during contraction (and locomotion), also increasing the metabolic demands during walking. The present, multi-disciplinary, project combines several experimental methods and procedures to investigate the impact of muscle and tendon alterations on the mechanics of muscle contraction and locomotion capacity in T2D patients. In this project, we also propose a new training approach (minute oscillation stretching) to counteract these possible alterations (e.g. to decrease muscle and tendon stiffness).
We asked to a staff of digestive endoscopy and of the operating room to interpret the EEG traces obtained from a single dry electrode device to estimate the level of anesthesia during colonoscopy. They are required to produce a rank value (1 to 3) proportional to the anesthesia level. The rank values of anesthesia evaluated through the EEG traces will be correlated to the typically used "bispectral index" values simultaneously acquired. The expected efficacy of a low-cost single dry-electrode EEG would allow the monitoring of the level of anesthesia during non operating room procedures such as colonoscopy.
The goal of this prospective study is to test the efficacy of Echolaser transperineal focal therapy in patients with low- and intermediate risk prostate cancer. The main question it aims to answer are: 1. short and intermediate term oncological outcomes after laser focal therapy, 2. functional outcomes and quality of life after treatment. Participants affected by low risk prostate cancer will undergo trans perineal laser focal therapy. Multiparametric prostate MRI will be perform after 3 and 12 months for oncological control. Re-fusion biopsy will be perform after 12 months. Functional outcomes and quality of life will be assess at 3, 6 and 12 months.
A 52-Week Study of Ritlecitinib Oral Capsules in Adults and Adolescents with Nonsegmental Vitiligo (Active and Stable) Tranquillo
Right ventricular failure may be associated with mortality in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Mechanical ventilation may promote right ventricular failure by inducing alveolar overdistention and atelectasis. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a bedside non-invasive technique assessing the regional distribution of lung ventilation, thus helping titrating positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) to target the minimum levels of alveolar overdistension and atelectasis. The aim of this physiologic randomized crossover trial is to assess right ventricular size and function with transthoracic echocardiography with different levels of PEEP in adult patients with moderate-to-severe ARDS undergoing controlled invasive mechanical ventilation: the level of PEEP determined according to the ARDS Network low PEEP-FiO2 table, the PEEP value that minimizes the risk of alveolar overdistension and atelectasis (as determined by EIT), the highest PEEP value minimizing the risk of alveolar overdistension (as determined by EIT), and the lowest PEEP level that minimizes the risk of alveolar atelectasis (as determined by EIT). Our findings may offer valuable insights into the level of PEEP favoring right ventricular protection during mechanical ventilation in patients with ARDS.
The purpose of this study is to measure improvements in liver fibrosis and inflammation with GSK4532990 compared with placebo in participants with NASH and advanced fibrosis on biopsy (F3 or F4). The study duration will be up to 76 weeks including the screening period. The treatment duration will be up to 52 weeks.

Developmental dyslexia (DD) is a multifactorial disorder that hampers the education of about 10% of individuals across cultures and is associated to both phonological and visual deficits. The latter have been linked to a deficit in the magnocellular-dorsal (M-D) visual stream, that has a critical role in guiding the activity of ventral visual stream areas where letters identity is extracted. Here, we will test the efficacy of transcranial alternate current stimulation (tACS) of the M-D stream combined with reading trainings in adult participants with DD, assessing the neurophysiological underpinnings of these new trainings with EEG and fMRI/DTI.
