NCT ID: NCT00623727 Terminated - Hemophilia A Clinical Trials

BAY79-4980 Compared to rFVIII-FS in Previously Treated Patients With Severe Hemophilia A

Start date: June 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

A study to assess treatment with a new formulation of recombinant factor VIII reconstituted with liposomes (BAY79-4980) to evaluate whether a once-a-week treatment is safe and can prevent bleeds in subjects with severe haemophilia A.

NCT ID: NCT00616902 Terminated - Clinical trials for Hypertrophy, Left Ventricular

The PRIMO II Study: Paricalcitol Injection Benefits in Renal Failure Induced Cardiac Morbidity in Subjects With Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Stage 5

PRIMO II
Start date: January 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the effects of paricalcitol injection on cardiac structure and function over 48 weeks in subjects with Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) receiving hemodialysis who have left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).

NCT ID: NCT00612898 Terminated - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Apricitabine, a New NRTI, to Treat Drug-resistant HIV Infection

Start date: February 2008
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Apricitabine is a new NRTI which is active against drug-resistant HIV. NRTIs are often included as part of patients' treatment, but many HIV-infected patients develop resistance to commonly used NRTIs such as lamivudine (3TC) and emtricitabine (FTC). This study will examine whether including apricitabine as part of patients' treatment is more effective than including lamivudine, when patients change treatment because of drug resistance.

NCT ID: NCT00605384 Terminated - Chronic Hepatitis B Clinical Trials

A Phase IIIb Study to Compare Entecavir Plus Tenofovir vs. Adefovir Added to Continuing Lamivudine Therapy in Adult Patients With Lamivudine-Resistant Hepatitis B Infection

Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical research study is to find out whether a combination of entecavir (ETV) plus tenofovir (TNF) works better against Hepatitis B virus than adefovir (ADV) added to continuing lamivudine (LVD) therapy in patients whose Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is resistant against lamivudine. The safety of this treatment will also be studied.

NCT ID: NCT00603577 Terminated - Clinical trials for Colorectal Neoplasms

Role of Xaliproden on Recovery Rate From Severe Neuropathy in Patients Who Have Completed Adjuvant Chemotherapy With Oxaliplatin Based Regimens

XENON
Start date: January 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Primary objective: To assess the effect of xaliproden hydrochloride (xaliproden) 1 mg per oral daily on the rate of complete resolution of PSN at 6 months, following randomization, after the completion of oxaliplatin-based adjuvant chemotherapy for colon cancer. Secondary objective: - To assess the effect of xaliproden on patient-reported outcomes using the FACT/GOG NTX-12 subscale. - To assess the effect of xaliproden on the rate of at least partial recovery of grade > 2 PSN at 6 months - To assess the effects of xaliproden on the time to complete recovery from PSN - To evaluate the safety profile of xaliproden

NCT ID: NCT00603564 Terminated - Pneumonia Clinical Trials

Helmet Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Versus Oxygen Venturi in Acute Respiratory Failure in CAP: CAPOVeRSO

CAPOVeRSO
Start date: January 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of CPAP application by a helmet and O2 administration by a Venturi mask in terms of gas exchanges improvement in patients with acute respiratory failure due to community-acquired pneumonia.

NCT ID: NCT00603525 Terminated - Clinical trials for Arthritis, Rheumatoid

Investigating Clinical Efficacy of Ofatumumab in Adult Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Patients Who Had an Inadequate Response to TNF-α Antagonist Therapy

Start date: January 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase III, double-blind, randomized, multicenter, and parallel group trial with a duration of 24 weeks, followed by a 120 week Open-label Period. The primary purpose of the study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of ofatumumab in reducing clinical signs and symptoms in adult RA patients who had an inadequate response to TNF-α antagonist therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00600639 Terminated - Clinical trials for Acute Respiratory Failure

Non-Invasive Mechanical Ventilation in Elderly Patients

Start date: January 2004
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The efficacy of NIMV to treat HARF has been widely demonstrated. However, in most of the studies performed in ICUs and in another facilities the mean age of the patients is usually less than 70 years. A multicentric, randomized-controlled trial conduced in a group of "ELDERLY" patients with the mean age higher than 76 years, to compare the use of NIMV with Standard Medical Treatment (SMT) in the treatment of an episode of Acute Hypercapnic Respiratory Failure.

NCT ID: NCT00596830 Terminated - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Non-Small-Cell Lung

Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Determine whether the addition of CP- 751,871 in combination with paclitaxel plus carboplatin prolongs survival in patients with locally advanced (Stage IIIB with pleural effusion) or metastatic (Stage IV or recurrent) NSCLC of non adenocarcinoma histology.
