Following the culture step, the supernatant fluid is tested for the presence of CAAb on experimental test kits. Null Hypothesis: There is no relationship between the presence or absence of ovarian cancer (OC) and the CAAb i.e. d=0. Alternative Hypothesis: The expectation of the CAAb in the cancer population differs from that of the control population, i.e. m1 is not equal to m2. Since the sign of the difference is not important, the test will be two-sided.

Teva is developing 40 mg/ml Glatiramer Acetate (GA) Injection , administered once daily under the skin, for the treatment of ALS. The study drug is a higher dose formulation of Copaxone® (20 mg/ml GA), a marketed medication, approved for the treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. GA is an immunomodulating drug that has anti inflammatory and neuroprotective properties, which are believed to be of therapeutic value in ALS. The study treatment duration is 1 year (52 weeks).

Study visits occurred at 4 week intervals for 16 weeks; the key measure of efficacy was the 6-minute walk test. Study procedures included routine blood tests, medical history, physical exams, disease evaluation, and exercise tests. One optional substudy was also a part of FREEDOM-C at select centers - a hemodynamic substudy with a right heart catheterization at Baseline and Week 16. Patients who completed all assessments for 16-weeks were also eligible to enter an open-label, extension phase study (FREEDOM - EXT).

The study is an Open Label, Prospective, Non Comparative, Pilot, clinical trial design. Patients with inadequate relief in GI symptoms associated with GERD despite PPI treatment will be screened and those who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria will perform a glucose breath test for bacterial overgrowth . Each patient will then complete a questionnaire to record their GERD related symptoms. Each patient will then receive a daily intake of 30 mL two times daily, 30 minutes before meals for a period of 4 weeks. During the course of the trial, they will have 4 visits with the study physician to assess treatment compliance and occurrence of adverse events, and will complete periodic daily diaries to record compliance.
