Safety of Formalin-free Fixatives for In-Vivo Fixation of Skin Lesions.

Existing methods of diagnosing and treating skin lesions are either surgical, which enables an histological diagnosis or destructive (electrodesiccation, liquid nitrogen, laser, caustics) with no possibility of obtaining histology. The ingredients of current formulations for in-vivo skin fixation (Mohs, Solcoderm) are unstable, inconvenient for application and painful - therefore their use was abandoned. The investigators will examine the safety of stable formalin-free formulations for in-vivo fixation of human skin lesions .These formulations were safe and had a rapid onset of fixation effect in in-vivo animal studies.

Treatment of Acute Stroke With Cromolyn(Single Dose)

Mastocytes were proven to have a central rule in their development of the lipoid plaque of the vascular system. Mastocytes also has an important role in the stabilisation of the plaque in the building of the brain barrier. Different animal studies show that the inhibition of the mastocyte activity decreases significantly the risk of secondary bleeding post ischaemic stroke.It was also shown that post stroke inflammation process was also blocked by the inhibition of mastocytes.Other studies showed up to 100% decrease in the brain barrier disruption and post stroke oedema, after treatment with mastocyte inhibitors. Cromolyn is a synthetic drug which has an anti-allergic effect by inhibition of the mastocytes. This drug is a well known,safe drug and is the main sub-substance that was used in the previously mentioned studies.

The Possible Influence of Health Promotion Coaching on Health Related and Organizational Outcomes Among Nurses

Strong evidence shows that physical activity (PA) has favorable psychological and health related outcomes. However, most employees do not perform enough PA to achieve health and well being benefits. Worksite interventions aimed at improving PA often yield modest effect sizes, and their theoretical ground is not profound. The Health Action Process Approach (HAPA), is a novel comprehensive theoretical model for health behavior change, that hasn't been studied as a whole in a worksite intervention study. The objectives of the proposed study are: 1. To develop a coaching-based group intervention that will be both grounded in theory (HAPA) as well as applicable. 2. To evaluate the feasibility of conducting this intervention among employed hospital nurses, using a randomized controlled design, interviews and other evaluation procedures. The proposed study will offer the most comprehensive empirical test to date of the full HAPA model.

Since the pathophysiology of BIPN still remains unclear, in the present study we are going to assess the development of BIPN in newly diagnosed myeloma patients, based on clinical neurological examination and electrophysiological study (EMG) and trying to find out if there is any relationship between oxidative stress generation measured by serum malonyldialdehyde - (MDA) and urinary isoprostane, and the development of BIPN, which can explain important part of the BIPN pathophysiology and can suggest new ideas of treatment and prophylactic strategies of peripheral neuropathy.

Computer Program for Evaluation of the Symmetry between the Primary Sulci of the Two Fetal Brain Hemispheres Using 3-dimensional Ultrasound Planes This retrospective study is based on the computerized analysis of the orthogonal fetal brain planes. The images are obtained from the digital archive of the fetal sonographic examinations done in Bnai Zion Medical Center. In addition, midsagittal measurements of fetal head will be obtained from this archive of 3-dimensional images. Study measurements will provide the quantitative parameters of normal fetal brain sulcation. Normal fetal head growth in midsagittal plane will be studied also.
