In the IMPACT project, the investigators want to improve adherence and commitment to treatment.

NCT ID: NCT02530021 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Ischemic Heart Disease

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Testing Compared With Exercise Stress Test in Hospitalized Patients With Chest Pain

Start date: August 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

There are many patients hospitalized for chest pain, which don't have high risk features that require invasive coronary angiography, but are considered intermediate risk and for which ischemic heart disease can not be excluded. The current management for these patients is to perform a non invasive test in order to classify their risk. Exercise ergometry is a commonly used non invasive test to detect ischemia. that test is non-invasive, and does not involve radiation or intra-venous contrast. The test is limited for many patients, because of un-ability to exercise, or because of non-interpetable Electro Cardio-Graphy (ECG). Heart rate variability is well known to be a marker of ischemic heart disease. Heart rate variability testing is a non-invasive ECG monitoring technique. The study design is to identify hospitalized patients who are candidates for non-invasive stress testing, and to monitor their heart rate variability for one hour prior to the stress test.

Fertility Preservation in Prepubertal Boys: An Experimental Approach

Start date: November 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Due to remarkable advances in cancer treatments, the investigators are witnessing a growing population of long-term survivors of childhood malignancies. However, fertility in adult life may be severely impaired by gonadotoxic therapies. Since prepubertal boys cannot produce spermatozoa, banking of testicular tissue prior to gonadotoxic treatment is a crucial step towards fertility preservation for this population. Several centers around the world are now cryopreserving testicular tissue for prepubertal boys in anticipation that future technologies will allow the utilization of the banked samples for fertility restoration. Testicular tissue cryopreservation has now emerged as the leading strategy for fertility preservation in prepubertal boys before gonadotoxic treatments. Fertility restoration can theoretically be obtained after allo-transplantation of testicular tissue fragments that preserve both the SSCs and the supporting microenvironment (spermatogonial stem-cell niche).

NCT ID: NCT02529306 Recruiting - Type 2 Diabetic Clinical Trials

The Correlation Between Testosterone and Cortisol Level and Inflammatory Markers Levels in Type 2 Diabetic Men.

BZMC
Start date: September 1, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Many type 2 diabetic men have low serum testosterone levels. Our aim in this trial is to check if there is a correlation between serum or hair testosteron levels and serum or hair cortisol levels in type 2 diabetic men. We'll also examine whether there is a correlation between serum and hair testosterone levels and cortisol levels and serum inflammatory markers. If such correlation will be found- then it is possible that excess cortisol or an abnormal inflammatory status- may cause the low testosterone levels that seen in type 2 diabetic men.

NCT ID: NCT02528890 Completed - Clinical trials for Streptococcus B Carrier State Complicating Pregnancy

Group B Streptococcal Carrier State Prevalence Among Arab Pregnant Women in Northern Israel District

GBS
Start date: September 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The incidence of early neonatal GBS (group B Streptococcus) infection in the Nazareth Hospital through the years 2006-2013 has been higher compared to the national average. On reviewing all the cases of infants with early GBS infection, revealed that some of these infants were born to mothers who are not included in any of the high-risk groups that need to have prophylactic antibiotic treatment before delivery. Therefore, the question was whether pregnant Arab women in the North district of Israel have a higher GBS carrier state rate than the general rate in Israel?

NCT ID: NCT02528721 Completed - Clinical trials for Helicobacter Pylori Infection

Exalenz Lab Mode System Compared to Biopsy for H.Pylori Detection

Start date: October 2015
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The Exalenz Dual Mode BreathID® Hp System comprised of IDkit: Hp™ TWO and the Dual Mode BreathID® Hp test device will be used to perform a urea breath test in the initial diagnosis and post treatment monitoring of H.pylori infection in adult patients and its results will be compared to biopsy results.

NCT ID: NCT02528214 Completed - Asthma Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Dupilumab in Patients With Severe Steroid Dependent Asthma

VENTURE
Start date: October 15, 2015
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Primary Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of dupilumab, compared with placebo, for reducing the use of maintenance oral corticosteroids (OCS) in participants with severe steroid-dependent asthma. Secondary Objectives: - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of dupilumab. - To evaluate the effect of dupilumab in improving participants-reported outcomes. - To evaluate dupilumab systemic exposure and the incidence of treatment-emergent antidrug antibodies.

NCT ID: NCT02527850 Not yet recruiting - Physical Exertion Clinical Trials

Effect of Low Level Laser Irradiation on Muscle Performance and Recovery

Start date: August 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Low level laser therapy (LLLT) was shown to affect muscle performance and fatigue. The aim of this study is to investigated the effect of B-cure laser on muscle performance and recovery after intense exercise.

NCT ID: NCT02527291 Completed - Cardiac Surgery Clinical Trials

Cytomegalovirus Reactivation in Non Immunocompromised Patients Undergoing Cardiac Surgery

Start date: November 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

We hypothesized that the stress of cardiac surgery and cardiopulmonary bypass can cause reactivation of a latent CMV infection and that reactivation might be more prevalent in patients with complicated post-operative course. The study aims are: - To study whether cardiac surgery is a trigger for latent CMV reactivation and to compare reactivation rate between sub groups of patient with complicated post-operative course and non complicated post operative course. - To study the relationship between expression IL28 SNP rs12979860 and the risk of CMV replication in the non immunocompromised patient undergoing cardiac surgery.
