There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The aim of the current study was to examine the effect of short-term HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen treatments) on a range of cognitive abilities. The current study examined whether there is a HBOT-related short-term cognitive improvement and, if so, what specific cognitive abilities are improved by the intervention. Participants were randomized to perform cognitive tasks in one of two chambers with two different clinical environments: (a) HBOT condition: (2 ATA (atmosphere absolute) 100% oxygen for 90 minutes). (b) Control condition: in which the chamber was not pressurized (Normobaric condition- 1 ATA for 90 minutes).
Patients with COVID-19 which are 60 years old or above or with comorbidities are at risk of deteriorating and developing severe illness. This prospective open label study will include people 60 years old or above or younger if at risk for severe disease. Individuals confirmed to have SARS-CoV-2 infection will be identified using medical records screening. They will then be offered to participate in the study and if agree will be given the informed consent. After examining inclusion and exclusion criteria they will be asked to sign the informed consent and after signing Information like immunizations, ECG results, diagnostic images and reports, written medical reports, diagnostic lab testing results (e.g. blood tests, urine tests, blood bank info), allergies and intolerances (drug and food allergies, food intolerances), prescription history, and general patient information (e.g. name, birthdate, personal health number, address, phone number) will be gathered. Those who are not eligible for the study will be informed of the reason(s) for ineligibility (generally it will be a safety exclusion and they should be aware of this). Those who are eligible will be randomized to one of three arms: hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin, hydroxychloroquine + camostat mesylate or "doing nothing" in a ratio of 2:1:2. Study drug will be dispensed by the hospital pharmacy. Follow up will continue for 8 weeks.
Background/Objectives: Psychological anxiety has been associated with alterations in eating patterns. The 2020 global coronavirus pandemic has created a situation characterized by increased anxiety. The present international survey was designed to examine associations between exposure to quarantine/isolation measures, anxiety levels and changes in dietary patterns. Methods: The present study utilizes a Google Survey platform to conduct an international survey querrying dietary patterns before vs. after the coronavirus pandemic; anxiety during the pandemic; and demographic characteristics. The nutrition portion of the survey is based on the Mediterranean Diet Score while the anxiety estimate is based on the GAD-7. The survey is available in English, Hebrew, Spanish, Italian, French, Arabic and Russian. It has been distributed via social media. Anticipated Results: We believe that changes in dietary habits will be identified and that these will be associated with anxiety levels. Additionally, we believe that by-country differences will be identified. Discussion: The Google Survey format distributed by social media provides an almost immediate means of distributing the survey globally. The survey can only be completed if the respondent first indicates his/her informed consent. The convenience sample limits generalizability to individuals who volunteer to complete online surveys; however, we anticipate a large response which may mitigate this limitation.
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of elexacaftor (ELX) / tezacaftor (TEZ) / ivacaftor (IVA) triple combination (TC) in subjects 6 through 11 years of age with cystic fibrosis (CF) who are heterozygous for F508del and a minimal function (MF) mutation (F/MF genotypes).
study to evaluate the performance of the CardiacSense1's embedded PPG under different environmental and physical conditions
Studies that have examined the effects of compression stocking on athlete's performance have been carried out in a single test, i.e., the athlete's was examined during running/riding/jumping with and without the compression stocking. Yet, using the stocking during all training session and for longer period of time might further enhance the performance. Compression stocking were found to have a positive effect on the athlete' recovery. We hypotheses that if the athlete will train with the stocking on a regular basis and his/her recovery will improve, it will also improve the performance. In addition, the athlete's body may need an adjustment period to use the compression stocking. As such, the advantages of using compression stocking might only be revealed after training with the socks during a period of time and not just performing the tests/competitions with it.
This is a Phase III, randomised, controlled, 3-arm, multi-centre study of neoadjuvant osimertinib as monotherapy or in combination with chemotherapy, versus SoC chemotherapy alone, for the treatment of patients with resectable EGFRm Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the activity of low dose oral selinexor (KPT-330) and to evaluate the clinical recovery, the viral load, length of hospitalization and the rate of morbidity and mortality in participants with severe COVID-19 compared to placebo. The study had 2 arms and evaluated selinexor 20 mg + standard of care (SoC) and placebo + SoC. As the treatment for COVID-19 is rapidly evolving, the SoC varied over time and across regions of the world.
The 2019-20 coronavirus disease, caused by COVID-19, is an ongoing pandemic. The measures in which public health officials quarantine confirmed and isolate symptomatic cases in order to reduce the spread COVID-19 is the common practice used in most countries. However, a significant question remains in regards to the asymptomatically infected individuals, which may propagate the virus and impede infection control. The other question to consider is whether these asymptomatic carriers develop an immune response or continue viral shedding. The purpose of the current study is the evaluate the immune response, i.e developing anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the asymptomatic cases, in a household study design. We plan to evaluate over 1000 patients with positive COVID-19 results and their households.
This is a prospective, multicenter clinical study designed to facilitate the collection and evaluation of surgical workflow efficiency, patient pain and function outcome and adverse events data. This study might include Persona, Nexgen and Vanguard product families using the ROSA Total Knee Robotic system or conventional instrumentation. The primary objective is to evaluate the accuracy of implant alignment for ROSA Total Knee robotic instrumentation compared to conventional instrumentation.
