The interferon-free combination regimen of ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir/ with or without dasabuvir (ABBVIE REGIMEN) ± ribavirin (RBV) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C (CHC) has been shown to be safe and effective in randomized controlled clinical trials with strict inclusion and exclusion criteria under well controlled conditions. This observational study was the first effectiveness research examining the ABBVIE REGIMEN ± RBV, used according to local label, under real world conditions in Israel in a clinical practice patient population.

GI fluids samples will be collected from: (i) fluids suctioned during standard endoscopy procedures / pouchoscopy, (ii) from ileostomy/colostomy bags removed for bag replacement and (iii) from stool samples collected by patients after pouch surgery.

This study will evaluate the ease of use of the new calorimeter (Q-NRG (COSMED, Italy)) in intensive care unit (ICU) patients compared to currently used calorimeters (i.e. Quark RMR 1.0(COSMED, Italy) or Deltatrac Metabolic Monitor (Datex, Finland)), as well as the stability and the feasibility of the measurements in various clinically relevant situations. Time needed to prepare and start indirect calorimetry (IC) measurement will be compared as the measure of the ease of use of the calorimeter.

During pregnancy, bacterial vaginosis (BV), abnormal vaginal flora (AVF) and vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) are associated with serious complications and discomfort. Yet, treatment options are limited. Lactobacilli administration was suggested to treat and prevent vaginal infections. However, this has not been examined in pregnant women, the information regarding oral treatment is scarce, and the mechanisms in which oral ingestion of probiotics induce vaginal lactobacilli proliferation are not well established. In the present study we will examine if oral probiotics are effective in prevention of vaginal infections by migration of lactobacilli from the digestive system to the vagina in pregnant women.
