Start date: December 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized controlled trial is to test the effectiveness of a peer-led self-management program (PLSMI) for people with recent-onset psychosis in the community over 18-month follow-up, compared with a conventional psychoeducation group and routine community mental healthcare.

NCT ID: NCT04154839 Active, not recruiting - Atopic Dermatitis Clinical Trials

Epidemiological Survey and Genetic Analysis of AD Patients in Hong Kong

Start date: July 12, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a joint research study between The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and The University of Hong Kong (HKU) as titled above. In view of the increasing prevalence of atopic dermatitis (AD), the lack of complete epidemiology data on childhood and adult AD in Hong Kong and the lack of complete understanding on the genetic and environmental factors associated with it, the purpose of this study to carry out an epidemiology and genetic study that targets AD patients within the local Hong Kong population. The investigators will search for new AD-associated genetic variants that are related to the local population and believe that the genetic profiles that arise from this project will form an important basis for the future management and treatment of AD, such as disease-risk screening strategy and therapeutic target development.

NCT ID: NCT04139421 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Mental Health Wellness

Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing) on Psychological Well-being

Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will examine the effects of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing) as an intervention for enhancing psychological well-being in Chinese population. The main component of Shinrin-Yoku is the use of 5 senses in various activities, which typically includes forest walking, meditation, yoga etc. While Shinrin-Yoku has been widely recognized in Japan as a means of preventative health and stress management, it is still a new concept in some countries. In the existing literature, there is increasing evidence demonstrating the efficacy of Shinrin-Yoku for improving for health promotion. However, there is very limited research examining the effectiveness of Shinrin-Yoku in different types of natural environment and the sustainability of its effects.

NCT ID: NCT04129502 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Advanced/Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

TAK-788 as First-Line Treatment Versus Platinum-Based Chemotherapy for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) With EGFR Exon 20 Insertion Mutations

Start date: January 10, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of TAK-788 as first-line treatment with that of platinum-based chemotherapy in participants with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors has epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 20 insertion mutations. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups- TAK-788 group or Platinum-based chemotherapy group. Participants will receive TAK-788 orally and pemetrexed/cisplatin or pemetrexed/carboplatin via vein until the participants experience worsening disease (PD) as assessed by blinded independent review committee (IRC), intolerable harmful effects or another discontinuation criteria.

NCT ID: NCT04113811 Active, not recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Microwave Needle Thermoablation for Treatment of Localized Prostate Cancer

Start date: October 8, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Conventional treatment options for localized prostate cancer include prostatectomy, radiotherapy and active surveillance. However, prostatectomy and radiotherapy carry certain degree of morbidity, including the risks of urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction and injury to the surrounding organs like rectum and bladder. Active surveillance carries the risk of disease progression and psychological distress to the patients. Focal therapy employs the concept of only destroying the target lesion without treating other benign areas, resulting in disease cure in majority of cases with less treatment morbidity. Microwave treatment to the prostate has been performed since more than 20 years ago for benign prostatic hyperplasia and is approved by FDA in United States. It exerts its effect through thermal destruction of prostate tissue. Targeted treatment of localized prostate cancer using microwave needle ablation guided by MRI and Ultrasound imaging has been performed recently and was shown to be safe and effective. Our study aims to assess the effectiveness of this focal therapy in treating localized prostate cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04102098 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

A Study of Atezolizumab Plus Bevacizumab Versus Active Surveillance as Adjuvant Therapy in Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma at High Risk of Recurrence After Surgical Resection or Ablation

IMbrave050
Start date: December 31, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjuvant therapy with atezolizumab plus bevacizumab compared with active surveillance in participants with completely resected or ablated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who are at high risk for disease recurrence.
