There are about 25435 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United Kingdom. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of up to 3 intravitreal injections of ocriplasmin (0.0625mg or 0.125mg), in subjects with moderate to very severe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR), to induce total posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) in order to reduce the risk of disease progression to proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).
A single centre, single arm phase II study of alternating eribulin and hormonal therapy in 12 patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer who have received at least one hormonal therapy and at least one chemotherapy in the metastatic setting.
The aims of the study are to see if additional insulin doses for the fat and protein in a meal, given at different times, improve blood glucose levels and are safe and acceptable to children with Type 1 diabetes using multiple daily insulin injections.
Multi-center, International, Prospective, Non comparative, Non randomized, Open label. 5,000 patients to be enrolled approximately worldwide. The objective of this registry is to collect safety and clinical performance post market data related to the procedure and follow-up of the Sorin Group aortic valve devices in accordance with the Instructions for Use (IFU). This observational global registry is intended to collect data without requiring any deviation from the standard of care and IFU in each participating center. The participating centers shall include those patients that have provided their informed consent to participate in this registry in accordance with the local applicable regulations.
Lung cancer is currently a major health problem in the UK. Despite being one of the most common cancers, lung cancer has a poor prognosis compared to other types of cancer and is the leading cause of cancer death in the world. As opposed to other organs, the lung is highly susceptible to inflammatory insults, for example from bacterial infection-induced and tobacco-induced inflammation. It has long been known that the cellular microenvironment that nurtures tumour growth and development is linked to sites of chronic inflammation but molecular insights into how external inflammation boosts or inhibits cancer in the lungs remains unclear. This study aims to directly visualise the expression of a well known marker of cancerous tissue, c-MET, and the activity of neutrophils in human lung cancer in vivo in situ using fibre-based endomicroscopy.
Prospective, randomized, stratified non blinded multi-center, international, post market trial assessed in a non-inferiority study. The trial has a flexible sample size that will be determined adaptively. The trial will enroll up to 1234 subjects, but accrual may stop earlier at approximately 900 or 1050 subjects These subjects will be enrolled at approximately 60 worldwide investigational sites where the device is commercially available The primary objective of this trial is to test the safety and efficacy of Perceval versus standard sutured stented bioprosthetic aortic valves among the intended trial population.
The study aimed to assess the long-term safety of topical use of Zorblisa (SD-101-6.0) in participants with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of crenezumab versus placebo in participants with prodromal to mild AD. Participants will be randomized 1:1 to receive either intravenous (IV) infusion of crenezumab or placebo every 4 weeks (Q4W) for 100 weeks. The final efficacy and safety assessment will be performed 52 weeks after the last crenezumab dose. Participants will then have the option to enter the Open Label Extension (OLE) study if eligible. Participants who do not enter the OLE study will have additional follow-up visits at 16 and 52 weeks after the last dose, primarily for safety and also for limited efficacy assessments.
The purpose of this trial is to test if a marketed drug for advanced prostate cancer (FIRMAGON) can reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications as compared to another marketed drug for advanced prostate cancer (LUPRON DEPOT) in subjects with prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease.
The purpose of the study is to assess the long-term safety profile of Ad26.ZEBOV and MVA-BN-Filo in participants previously exposed to these vaccines in Phase 1, 2, or 3 clinical studies.
