There are about 25435 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United Kingdom. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the objective response rate (ORR) of single agent lucitanib in metastatic breast cancer patients with FGFR1-amplified, FGFR1-non amplified with 11q amplification, or FGFR1-non amplified without 11q amplification.
This open-label, randomized, 3-arm study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of (obinutuzumab) RO5072759 in combination with chlorambucil as compared to rituximab plus chlorambucil or chlorambucil alone in patients with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Patients will be randomized 2:2:1 to receive a maximum of six 28-day cycles of either RO5072759 (1000 mg intravenous (iv) infusion, on days 1, 8 and 15 of cycle 1 and day 1 of cycles 2-6) plus chlorambucil (0.5 mg/kg orally, days 1 and 15 of cycles 1-6), or rituximab (iv infusion day 1, 375 mg/m^2 cycle 1, 500 mg/m^2 cycles 2-6) plus chlorambucil, or chlorambucil alone. Anticipated time on study treatment is >6 months and follow-up for disease-progression and safety will be at least 5 years. In the US, this trial is sponsored/managed by Genentech.
Evidence suggests that vitamin D may be directly or indirectly a co-factor for the efficacy of Hepatitis C virus, (HCV), antiviral therapies. The level of vitamin D necessary for optimum immune function is ill defined and many of those with HCV infection in Scotland are below these levels. Vitamin D is a cheap and safe medication, so its addition to anti-viral therapy should be highly cost-effective even if only a modest increase in SVR was achieved. Given the Scottish HCV epidemic, the world leading government response to it and the nationally low vitamin D levels, Scotland is perfectly placed to answer this question. Therefore the investigators hypothesize that vitamin D supplementation will improve SVR and propose a randomised controlled trial to test this hypothesis. The anticipated end of study date for this study is April 2015
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics (PK) of patisiran (ALN-TTR02) in Japanese subjects
In this study will measure differences in how muscle responds to both exercise and protein supplements in healthy women aged 60-69. We are studying two different protein supplements- a standard Whey Protein and a Leucine enriched supplement. Each patient would receive either one of these.
ALLEVYN◊ Life and Mepilex™ Border are both layered foam dressings with a silicone adhesive wound contact layer. Both are indicated for the same uses; however ALLEVYN◊ Life has a number of attributes designed to meet a range of characteristics associated with principles of wellbeing. The aim for this evaluation is to assess, in a clinical setting and against a number of identified criteria, the performance of the ALLEVYN◊ Life dressing compared to Mepilex™ Border in terms of characteristics of the attributes of wellbeing. ◊ Trademark of Smith & Nephew ™ All trademarks acknowledged
A study to compare the change in glycaemic control in participants with Type 2 diabetes when treated with GWP42004 or placebo as add-on therapy to metformin over a period of 12 weeks. The safety and tolerability of GWP42004 compared with placebo will also be assessed.
This study aims to assess the safety and efficacy of a novel advanced bolus calculator in subjects with Type 1 diabetes. Insulin bolus calculators have been developed to aid insulin dose adjustment and existing standard insulin bolus calculator consist of a simple algorithm that requires five subject-specific parameters as input to generate a recommended bolus insulin dose: - current blood glucose (mmol/L) - target blood glucose (mmol/L) - insulin-to-carbohydrate ratio (grams of carbohydrate per 1 unit of insulin) - total grams of carbohydrate in meals - insulin sensitivity factor (reduction in glucose per 1 unit of insulin)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of eating various levels of mycoprotein (Quorn) on feelings of appetite, energy intake and levels of gut hormones in overweight volunteers.
This is an open-label, nonrandomized, Phase 1/2 study for the fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) inhibitor futibatinib (TAS-120). The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and anti-tumor activity of futibatinib in patients with advanced solid tumors with and without genomic FGF/FGFR abnormalities. The study will be conducted in 3 parts: 1. Dose escalation portion to determine the -Maximum Tolerated Dose and/ or Recommended Phase 2 Dose of futibatinib. 2. Phase 1 expansion portion to further evaluate the safety and efficacy of futibatinib in patients with tumors harboring FGF/FGFR aberrations, including patients with cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), primary central nervous system tumors, urothelial carcinoma, breast cancer, gastric cancer. 3. Phase 2 study portion to confirm objective response rate of futibatinib in intrahepatic CCA patients with tumors harboring FGFR2 gene rearrangements (incl fusions).
