There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate theColovac device, a single use, temporary intraluminal bypass device, intended to reduce contact of fecal content with an anastomotic site, following colorectal surgery (open or laparoscopic).
The surgical procedures in outpatient surgery are in perpetual increase. However, the peri operative stress can reduce the gastric emptying. A patient's compliance for following the fasting rules cannot be controlled at home. Ambulatory surgery is currently proposed to fragile patients with many comorbidities known to slow gastric emptying. In day case surgery the airway management are often managed with supraglottic device ( laryngeal mask). This device does not protect the respiratory tract and may expose the patient to a risk of inhalation of gastric content (if not empty). This study aim to mesure the prevalence of full stomachs in outpatient surgery and to observe any changes in anesthetic management secondary to the ultrasound assessment of gastric content. It will confront theoretical full stomach risk factors with ultrasound findings. The practical and clinical relevance of such a technique in the context of outpatient surgery will be assessed in this study. The ultimate goal is to improve the safety of the patient's anesthetic management by controlling the risk of pulmonary aspiration.
To prospectively assess the mechanical ventilation management when its provided by Emergency Physicians in French Hospital, and to assess complications and outcome of these patients. The study could be measure the proportion of patients developing an Acute Respiratory Failure Distress after a take care of by French Emergency Departments.
The Biorhythm study aims to investigate the utility of new biomarkers (e.g. MR proANP, ST2) measured pre-procedure for the prediction of procedural success in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing cardioversion or ablation.
Heart disease symptoms are a frequent reason of consultation in general medical practice. Only a few general practitioners are equipped with a 12 lead Electrocardiography (ECG) whereas this test is extremely useful for diagnosis orientation in cases of cardiac diseases.Cardiosecur allows the realization of a 15 or 22 leads ECG with only 4 electrodes connected to a smartphone or a tablet with an automatic interpretation function. The goal of the study is to evaluate the diagnostic value of Cardiosecur device regarding cardiac symptoms in family practice.
Ustekinumab is a fully human Immune Globulin Gk (IgGk) monoclonal antibody against the common p40 subunit of interleukin-12 and interleukin-23, which are implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease. Its efficiency to induce and maintain clinical response in patients with anti TNF resistant Crohn's disease has been proved in several clinical trials, and the profile of safety of this treatment was good, but the investigators have few data about biological characteristics of patients treated by Ustekinumab, particularly about ustekinumab through levels and rate of patients developing anti ustekinumab antibodies during the induction and maintenance stages, and no predictive factors of clinical response have been identified yet. The aim of this study will be to assess the evolution of biological markers of inflammation and ustekinumab trough levels and antibodies, in responders and non responders patients treated by ustekinumab, in order to identify predictive factors of clinical response. The investigators will perform a prospective observational study, including the patients followed in the University hospital center of Lyon and treated by ustekinumab for a moderate to severe Crohn's disease (with a HBI score≥4 ). All the patients included will have been previously treated by at least one anti TNF and/or Vedolizumab, with specified criteria for a primary non response, a secondary loss of response or unacceptable side effects. Then, clinical and biological data will be collected for each patient at the inclusion, and then at weeks 4, 8, 16, 24: HBI score, sides effects, extra intestinal manifestations, steroids withdraw, CRP, calprotectin, ustekinumab trough levels and ustekinumab antibodies. The investigators will compare responding and non responding patients at week 16 (end of the induction period) according to these data. The hypothesis the investigators state is that an early and significant decrease of the inflammation markers in blood and stools associated with a high ustekinumab through level in blood is associated with a clinical response at week 16 in the patients treated by ustekinumab
This study evaluates the frequency of use of smartphone health applications among people consulting in primary care in the Grenoble region, France. This is a descriptive study using a questionnaire completed by the patient and distributed by general practitioners. The study also collects the type of used application as well as the rhythm of usage, and compares the use of mobile health applications according to the sociodemographic, geographical and medical characteristics of the studied population.
The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the superiority of sotagliflozin versus placebo on hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) reduction in participants with type 2 diabetes (T2D) who have inadequate glycemic control on a DPP4(i) with or without metformin.
Lung cancer is the most common cancer in the world and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Western countries. Unfortunately, at the time of diagnosis, the majority of patients already have metastatic disease and a systemic, palliative treatment is the primary therapeutic option. Guidelines for PS 2 patients or older than 75 years old patients at the time of diagnosis recommend for fit patients a carboplatin doublet chemotherapy. Nivolumab has proven efficacy in 3rd line squamous cell lung carcinoma and is superior to chemotherapy in 2nd line treatment of squamous and non-squamous lung cancer in term of overall survival. In 1st line, nivolumab failed to show superiority compared to a platin based doublet in terms of progression free survival and overall survival in tumors ≥ 5% PD-L1 expression. The association Nivolumab plus Ipilimumab showed encouraging results in first line setting in phase 1 study. The investigators think that with regard to the manageable toxicity of nivolumab in lung cancer population and the possibility to obtain long responses, this association could be a valid option for this population of elderly and/or PS2 patients in term of overall survival.
This is the 2 years extension of the prospective and longitudinal study of the natural history and functional status of patients with myotubular myopathy and other centronuclear (CNM) sponsored by Dynacure including ten additional pediatric patients with mutation in MTM1 or DNM2 genes). the patients are planned to be enrolled in one year leading to an expected total number of 70 patients followed at least over 1 year period. Data from the study will be used to characterize the disease course of CNM and determine which outcome measures will be the best to assess the efficacy of potential therapies.
