This study will compare the efficacy and safety of unesbulin plus dacarbazine versus placebo plus dacarbazine in participants with unresectable or metastatic, relapsed or refractory LMS who have received at least 1 prior line of systemic therapy.
Lumbar punctures (LP) are frequent invasive procedures that are anxiety-provoking for both the patient and the clinicans performing the procedure. LP is performed by many practitioners, whether they are emergency physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, internists or rheumatologists. Learning how to perform LP is essentially done at the patient's bed by showing the students how a procedure is performed and then having them perform it directly on a patient afterwards. The recent development of simulation in health care with the credo "never the first time on the patient" requires the development of training devices faithful to reality. The rheumatology department of the Strasbourg University Hospital has been working for 3 years, in collaboration with the Strasbourg start-up InSimo, on the development of an LP simulator. This simulator is original because it allows the feeling by pressure of the passage of the various structures, and in particular the yellow ligament. This sensation is made possible by a haptic force feedback device.
Epidemiological and psychosociological survey of people on pre-exposure HIV prophylaxis (PrEP).
In France, according to the National Cancer Institute, it appears that treatments in radiotherapy centers for cancer will increase from 198,000 in 2015 to 239,000 in 2030: this represents 40,000 additional treatments in 15 years. A meta-analysis on radiotherapy indicated that 10 to 20% of patients had clinically significant levels of anxiety at the beginning of radiotherapy. Indeed, several factors generate this tension, above all the new or unfamiliar environment, the imposing and noisy scanner, the restraints that are difficult to bear or the nudity required for the examination. This anxiety has an impact on performance of the planning CT scan examination, an essential step for the future treatment. The radiotherapy unit of the Centre Hospitalier Departemental de Vendee has put in place resources to reduce anxiety felt during treatment sessions (music therapy, conversational hypnosis, sophrology or aromatherapy). However, nothing has been put in place to reduce the anxiety of patients in the period preceding the planning CT scan. Virtual reality software seems to be a good alternative that requires fewer human resources. The research hypothesis is that patients who have benefited from the virtual reality software will have a lower level of anxiety before the planning CT scan than patients who have not benefited from virtual reality.
During rheumatoid arthritis (RA) (in comparison with control subjects), body composition is altered with a loss of lean body mass, bone mass and an accumulation of fat mass. Determination of total body fat and particularly its abdominal distribution (visceral adiposity) is important because of the cardiovascular (excess cardiovascular risk), metabolic (insulin resistance, diabetes and dyslipidemia) and bone (increased fracture risk) risks associated with this endocrine organ. Moreover, we do not have data concerning medullary adiposity in RA. This pilot case-control study will be compare body composition, bone marrow adiposity and bone mineral density in patients with RA versus healthy volunteers.
This is a Phase IIIb, single-arm, multicenter, OLE study. Participants receiving ocrelizumab as an investigational medicinal product (IMP) in a Roche sponsored Parent study who continue to receive ocrelizumab or are in safety follow-up at the time of the closure of their respective Parent study (WA21092, WA21093 or WA25046) are eligible for enrollment in this extension study. Participants who will continue ocrelizumab treatment will receive IMP based on the dosage and administration received at the time of rollover from the Parent study.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is associated with a marked tendency to have exaggerated and persistent negative beliefs and expectations about oneself or the world . Although posttraumatic stress symptoms have been shown to be associated with a tendency to negatively anticipate the future, affective forecasting skills (i.e., the ability to predict one's own emotional reactions in response to a future event) have never been explored in PTSD . The hypothesis that the PTSD is associated with a negative affective forecasting bias, characterized by a tendency to predict more intense emotional responses to future negative events.
Clinical studies indicate a decrease in vaccine efficacy in certain immunocompromised populations (kidney transplant recipients, patients undergoing chemotherapy). It was recently reported that only 18% to 49% of heart transplant recipients developed antibodies after 2 doses of BNT162b2 vaccine. Following the published results, it is currently recommended to use 3 doses in organ transplant recipients who have not contracted COVID-19 and 2 doses in those who have been infected. The effectiveness of this strategy is not yet sufficiently evaluated in heart transplant recipients. Moreover, the factors associated with the humoral and cellular response, the kinetics and durability of the humoral response, the occurrence of the cellular immune response and the tolerance of the vaccine are not well known in this population. To provide answers to these different questions, we set ourselves the objective of evaluating the humoral and cellular response to messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines in heart transplant recipients followed at Bichat Hospital.
