There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The study aims to evaluate the impact of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on impulsiveness of adults suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder. Short- and long-term effects are assessed by electroencephalography (EEG) records, experimental tasks and self-rated scales.
Carcinoid Heart Disease (CHD) is a rare form of heart disease, occurring in over 50% of the patients with carcinoid syndrome. Pathophysiology, prognostic factors of development of Carcinoid Heart Disease and progression of disease remain unclear. This observational multicenter cohort study is designed to study the occurrence of Carcinoid Heart Disease in patients with differentiated carcinoid tumors, to describe numerous factors influencing the occurrence, severity, progression and long-term survival of patients with Carcinoid Heart Disease. Basic informations and detailed diagnosis informations (oncological and cardiac parameters), are collected by professional doctors. Clinical outcomes (onset of Carcinoid Heart Disease, cardiac surgery, related death) will be followed up every year or every six/three months if clinically indicated.
Retrospective reports from literature have shown a lower rate of infections for transperineal versus transrectal approach for prostate biopsies in the setting of prostate cancer suspicion. The aim of this study would be to compare in a prospective randomized trial the rate of infection with transperineal versus transrectal approach.
Gestational trophoblastic tumors are characterized by their development from placental tissue and their high invasive and metastatic potential. These are rare tumors (1/50 000 pregnancies) affecting young women for whom conservative fertility treatments are preferred. The therapeutic strategy is based on a chemotherapy whose choice of protocol is based on a clinico-biological score, FIGO score, which includes tumor size, gonadotropic chorionic hormone level used as quantitative tumor marker, number and localization. metastases. A FIGO score ≤6 allows the use of monochemotherapy (methotrexate) with a 5-year survival of approximately 99.7%. Scores of 7 to 12 and ≥13 require multidrug therapy (EMA-CO) and are associated with 5-year survival of 95.1% and 61.6%, respectively. The chemotherapies currently used for the treatment of trophoblastic tumors have been described between the 1950s (methotrexate) and the 1980s (EMA-CO) and have a well documented toxicity regarding the risk of secondary tumors, early menopause or even death by toxicity. . To date, apart from the FIGO score, there is no predictor of resistance to chemotherapy in gestational trophoblastic tumors. However, among patients with a FIGO score ≤6 and receiving methotrexate in the first line, 9 to 46% will have a resistance and require a second line of treatment. Similarly, if the score is ≥7, 10 to 30% of patients receiving EMA-CO will require at least a second line of multidrug therapy. The hypothesis of PrediCTTro study is that tissue samples of gestational choriocarcinoma present a transcriptomic profile associated with the risk of further resistance to single or multiagent chemotherapy. The objective of PrediCTTro is to identify a transcriptomic signature able to predict resistance to single or multiagent chemotherapy.
The aim of this prospective and observational study is to describe the conditions of orthognathic procedures performed in Toulouse Teaching Hospital over a one-year period, the outpatient-to-inpatient shifts rate and the whole outpatient rate among the whole orthognathic procedures done. The investigator also wants to identify factors associated with an outpatient-to-inpatient shift, and factors associated with the duration of hospitalization.
The inclined position at 30 ° in case of transient respiratory discomfort is recommended since the consensus conference of September 2000. This recommendation is based on a low level of evidence (grade C). This advice is found in the health book, and in many tips for parents. However, it does not comply with the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics for sleeping on the back, on a firm mattress and without other objects in the bed. 70% of pediatricians advise this position in a specific medical context according to a study of Bellaïche conducted in 2013. 40% of parents use it for no particular reason. Anatomically, the upper airways of infants are of reduced caliber, and therefore at risk of obstruction. A study by Bergougnioux on the cases of MIN in infants wearing a wrap-around sling shows that the flexion of the neck causes the chin to be positioned against the chest and contributes to the suffocation of the infant. This is especially important in infants under 3 months whose neck muscles do not yet support the weight of the head. The 2009 InVS national survey of unexpected infant deaths shows that bed crashes accounted for 11.1% of all deaths reported. Among unexplained deaths, maladaptive bedding was a contributing factor, including the use of a pillow in the bed in 24.3% of cases. It was observed in the study by Kornhauser Cerar et al in 2009 that half-sitting in a car seat for an extended duration was at the origin of a significant desaturations rate, which was also found in the car bed group. The control group "hospital bed" was not subject to these desaturations. These results support the fact that only an adapted bedding that complies with the recommendations protects against asphyxiation. Since 2016, INPES recommends in its advice sheet on bronchiolitis for parents, a flat bed on the back. Hypothesis : The inclined position in infants under one year of age is at risk of unexpected death of the infant by obstruction of the upper airways, because of the changes of position that it entails, including a risk of slipping at the bottom of the bed and of asphyxiation under the covers.
The study aims to show a difference of observation and data integration between novice and expert during anaesthetic induction, in a population of nurse anesthetists.
The so-called "direct" method of intrauterine device (IUD) and intraintuerine system (IUS) insertion is increasingly used. A study has shown that it is technically simpler and assumes less painful than the classic pose. It seems interesting to compare the pain felt by the patients during IUD / IUS insertion in these two methods of placement and also to confirm that there is no more malposition with the direct method.
By this project, the investigators are going to try to demonstrate that to use objects connected to make a physical activity can have an impact on the clinical activity of the disease by bringing the subjects which present a spondyloarthritis to make a physical activity. The investigators shall show furthermore, than the use of connected objects also has better chances to glue the patients presenting a spondyloarthritis to a practice of regular physical activity that a simple recommendation.
High risk MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) patients will be treated with SGI-110 after Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation in the hypothesis that SGI-110 maintenance given early after HSCT can prevent relapse without increasing non-relapse mortality translating in an improved disease-free survival.
