There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) combines thrombotic (venous and/or arterial) and/or obstetrical manifestations, along with biological anomalies related to the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies. Despite actual treatment recommended by international guidelines, the relapse rate in APS is high and survival is 65% at 15 years. Hydroxychloroquine has demonstrated its efficacy and benefits in the treatment of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, but there is no current consensus concerning the efficacy of this treatment in the secondary prevention of thrombotic events in primary APS, even though several in vitro experimental and animal model data, along with several clinical studies have suggested a beneficial effect of this drug in this indication. Considering the prevalence of primary APS in the general population and of the number of clinical events observed in patients with primary APS and receiving conventional treatment with vitamin K anticoagulants (VKA), the consortium expects a minimum clinically relevant difference of 70%. Considering a prevalence of thrombotic events for the entire studied primary APS population of 10% at 2 years, the consortium expects a 70% decrease in thrombotic events under Hydroxychloroquine treatment administered in addition to VKA treatment in primary APS, i.e. a 3% prevalence in the Hydroxychloroquine group at 2 years. The consortium proposes a drug trial, phase III, national multicentric, comparative, randomized, superiority, double-blind, controlled with 2 compared groups (Hydroxychloroquine versus placebo) study. The enrolment period will be 24 months. The main aim of this trial is to comparatively assess at 24 months the number of new thrombotic events (venous and arterial) in primary antiphospholipid syndrome in patients treated with VKA plus Hydroxychloroquine versus VKA plus placebo, in a multicentre, prospective randomized, double-blind, versus placebo study.
In the case of unitary edentulousness, a dental implant is a prosthetic device fixed in the bone which makes it possible to receive a fixed dental prosthesis (crown). Peri-implant soft tissues (gums) play an essential role in the integration of the crown. Indeed, the implant gingival emergence profile provides an aesthetic integration mimicking that of a natural tooth. This implant emergence profile (EIP) is modeled during the surgical and / or prosthetic phases. The problem comes from the labile character of the EIP (Emergence Implant Profile). If the literature evokes this problem, the instability of the volume of the EIP during the impression phases has never been measured. Moreover, the three-dimensional behavior of the EIP over time (kinetic) during the acquisition phases is not known. Objective study of the mobility of gingival tissues of the implant emergence profile (IEP), using an intra-oral optical camera, would scientifically measure the labile aspect of the IEP and improve the procedure of registration of peri-implant soft tissues
The ability of genomic biomarkers to Measuring tumour aggressiveness, and facilitate the selection of therapies in patients who had salvage radical prostatectomy after focal therapy and predict the risk of biochemical recurrence BCR after focal therapy or RP.
Study the change of retrofoveolar choroidal thickness measured by optical coherence tomography during aerobic exercise inducing an increase in systolic blood pressure in healthy subjects.Ten healthy participants will perform an exercise (riding a bicycle ergometer) and will be examined with EDI-OCT. Each participant will be scanned before exercise, during the exercise and afterwards at 0 and 5 min. Each OCT measurement will be coupled to the arterial blood pressure evaluation.
Chlamydia trachomatis is the most commonly reported bacterial sexually transmitted infection (STI), especially among young women. Up to 75% of C. trachomatis infected women are asymptomatic. If untreated, C. trachomatis infection can cause sequelae such as pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy and tubal factor infertility. C. trachomatis can also cause anorectal infections, which are typically asymptomatic. Among women with urogenital chlamydial infection, around 36-91% also had concurrent anorectal chlamydial. Notably, there was no association with anal intercourse in the studies that reported it. However, guidelines do not recommend routine anorectal testing, but restricted testing in people who are in high-risk groups, report anal sexual behavior, or have anal symptoms, i.e., on selective indications. This is in contrast to urogenital testing, which is a routine procedure in STI care services. The anal transmission of C. trachomatis in women may occur by autoinoculation from the vagina due to the close proximity of the vagina and the anus. C. trachomatis could lead to a persistent infection in the lower gastrointestinal tract, suggesting the potential role of autoinoculation of cervical chlamydial infection from the rectal site. Such (repeat) urogenital infections could lead to reproductive tract morbidity. Recommended treatments for C. trachomatis infections are a single 1g dose of azithromycin or 100mg of doxycycline 2 times a day for 7 days. Although these two regimens are equivalent for urogenital infection, no study has compared the effectiveness of these two treatments on anorectal infection. If rectal C. trachomatis is a hidden reservoir influencing transmission rates, and considering the potential complications of cervical infections, providing further evidence of the need for effective rectal treatments among women is highly relevant.
Alexithymia is often found in patients suffering from anorexia nervosa or from bulimia. Art-therapy is widely used in this indication without there is a study in the literature assessing it. ALEXART is an observational prospective multicenter cohort pilot study, assessing the effect at 3 months of art therapy on alexithymia, in patients presenting anorexia nervosa or bulimia.
Hallucinations in borderline personality disorder are a frequent an serious trouble which have an important impact in patients lives. Despite this, they are often ignored by nursing staff, and are not an important criteria in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) 5 and Classification Internationale des maladies (CIM-10). The main objective of our study is to assess the prevalence of this trouble in borderline personality disorder (BPD) population, and to characterize the hallucinations in order to compare our results with those of international studies.
The present project will therefore focus upon those processes related to visual attention and perceptual abilities and on their potential to explain reading behavior and reading problems in NF1. The main objective of this study is to clarify the specificity and heterogeneity of reading profiles and the causes of its disturbance in NF1. In particular, this project allow the investigators to study more precisely the relations between perceptual, oculomotor and visuo-attentional skills in NF1 children and reading abilities. In addition, a new oculomotor/perceptual reading aid for NF1 children will be evaluated. The investigators believe that the early intervention for perceptual, visuo-attentional or oculomotor problems may promote academic skill development.
This study should lead to the validation of the concept of the autoAc directed against the neuropeptides involved in food intake regulation.
The aim of the study is to determine if there are attention disorders related to acute morphine use in single-traumatized patients and after that the investigators will determine whether there are immediate memory problems associated with acute morphine withdrawal in single-traumatized patients. From a biochemical point of view, the analgesic effects of morphine and the central side effects appear to be two different dimensions of the action of morphine, each related to a metabolite. Regarding acute attention, it is difficult to differentiate attention deficit disorder due to pain or due to morphine. Two tests have been validated in the literature to evaluate attention and memory: the 15 words of Rey and the Stroop Color Word test. The investigators will use these two tests in this study.
