There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study will evaluate the effect of Juvederm Volift with Lidocaine, an injectable gel implant, to treat aging hands of participants 35 and older.
Sexual health and satisfaction are well know as critical critera to assess quality of life, at any age. Among the multiple aspects of sexual health, erectile dysfunction (ED) is not anymore a fate, mainly thanks to the advent of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors in 1998. Nevertheless, a significant part of patients are intolerant or does not respond to PDE5 inhibitors and thus are looking for other treatment options. Since the first implantation of foreign material intracarvernosally in 1966 by Beheri, multiple modifications and enhancements were achieved in order to produce devices more reliable with a more natural appearance. First introduced in 1973 by Scott et al., inflatable prosthesis provides now high general satisfaction rates (69-94%), better than in malleable prostheses, except for few authors. In addition to changes in materials and construction, the two main manufacturers of IPP, Boston scientific AMS (Marlborough, MA, USA) and Coloplast (Minneapolis, MN, USA), modernized the pump mechanism of their devices. Since the introduction of AMS IPP, three main pump formats have been used : the standard pump has been replaced in 2004 by the " Tactile " pump and then the " Momentary Squeeze " (MS) pump in 2006, smaller and easier to deflate by not requiring the patient to hold the deflation button throughout deflation. Coloplast also replaced in 2008 their " Genesis " pump by a " One Touch Release " (OTR) pump, and finally in 2014 by the current " Touch " pump, smaller, and presenting a biconcave deflation button, easier to find. Despite all technological advances, appropriate pre-operative counselling and careful post-operative teachning, a significant part of patients has still difficulties to handle the pump and thus, does not use their IPP, regardless of any material malfunction. That situation obviously leads to patient's dissatisfaction and highlights the operating risks of a useless surgical procedure. The purposes of this study were:to identify the risks factors, modifiable and non-modifiable, for patients' difficulty to inflate and/or deflate their device after IPP implantation, then to show a correlation between easy handling and post-operative satisfaction. And last but not least, to show an association between pre-operative pump pattern viewing and handling and post-operative easy handling. That information could help the physicians to improve the pre-operative selection of patients and to adapt the peri-operative care in order to improve patients satisfaction.
The containment associated with the VIDOC-19 pandemic creates an unprecedented societal situation of physical and social isolation. Our hypothesis is that in patients with chronic diseases, confinement leads to changes in health behaviours, adherence to pharmacological treatment, lifestyle rules and increased psychosocial stress with an increased risk of deterioration in their health status in the short, medium and long term. Some messages about the additional risk/danger associated with taking certain drugs in the event of COVID disease have been widely disseminated in the media since March 17, 2020, the date on which containment began in France. This is the case, for example, for corticosteroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs but also for converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors) and angiotensin II receptor antagonists (ARBs2). These four major classes of drugs are widely prescribed in patients with chronic diseases, diseases specifically selected in our study (corticosteroids: haematological malignancies, multiple sclerosis, Horton's disease; ACE inhibitors/ARAs2: heart failure, chronic coronary artery disease). Aspirin used at low doses as an anti-platelet agent in coronary patients as a secondary prophylaxis after a myocardial infarction can be stopped by some patients who consider aspirin to be a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Discontinuation of this antiplatelet agent, which must be taken for life after an infarction, exposes the patient to a major risk of a new cardiovascular event. The current difficulty of access to care due to travel restrictions (a theoretical limit in the context of French confinement but a priori very real), the impossibility of consulting overloaded doctors, or the cancellation of medical appointments, medical and surgical procedures due to the reorganization of our hospital and private health system to better manage COVID-19 patients also increases the risk of worsening the health status of chronic patients who by definition require regular medical monitoring. Eight Burgundian cohorts of patients with chronic diseases (chronic coronary artery disease, heart failure, multiple sclerosis, Horton's disease, AMD, haemopathic malignancy, chronic respiratory failure (idiopathic fibrosis, PAH) haemophilia cohort) will study the health impact of the containment related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Study to Evaluate Viralym-M (ALVR105) for the Treatment of Virus-Associated Hemorrhagic Cystitis (HC).
To limit Corona virus dissemination on its territory, France applied strict confinement from March 16th to May 11th. Scientific societies recommended treatment modifications and remote consultations that were applied. This study evaluates the clinical impact of these care adaptation on patients under treatment for a digestive tumor. A special focus is made on quality of life and psycho-social impact of treatment modifications on patients diagnosed with metastatic colorectal cancer and metastatic pancreatic cancer.
This trial will look at a drug called sigvotatug vedotin (SGN-B6A) alone and with pembrolizumab, with or without chemotherapy, to find out whether it is safe for people who have solid tumors. It will study sigvotatug vedotin to find out what its side effects are. A side effect is anything the drug does besides treating cancer. It will also study whether sigvotatug vedotin works to treat solid tumors. The study will have four parts. - Part A of the study will find out how much sigvotatug vedotin should be given to participants. - Part B will use the dose found in Part A to find out how safe sigvotatug vedotin is and if it works to treat solid tumors. - Part C of the study will find out how safe sigvotatug vedotin is in combination with these other drugs. - Part D will include people who have not received treatment. This part of the study will find out how safe sigvotatug vedotin is in combination with these other drugs and if these combinations work to treat solid tumors. - In Parts C and D, participants will receive sigvotatug vedotin with either: - Pembrolizumab or, - Pembrolizumab and carboplatin, or - Pembrolizumab and cisplatin.
Cannabis is the most frequently consumed drug in France and its use continues to increase. Over the 18-64 age group as a whole, experimentation with cannabis at least once in a lifetime increased from 33% in 2010 to 42% in 2014, confirming the upward trend observed since the 1990. Cannabis, like all drugs, disrupts the reward circuit whose neurons originate in the ventral tegmental area and project into the mesolimbic and cortical structures. Acute cannabis use is thought to increase mesolimbic dopamine by affecting the Gabaergic or Glutamatergic system. Chronic cannabis use usurps the reward system and leads to changes in the mesolimbic circuit (nucleus accumbens, ventral tegmental area, amygdala, and prefrontal cortex), inducing increased craving, with persistent craving for the substance and vulnerability to relapse. Cognitively, addiction is associated with increased impulsivity, with a propensity to take risks leading to impaired decision-making. There is currently no validated drug treatment for cannabis addiction. Non-invasive brain stimulation could be an interesting therapeutic alternative.
This study will describe the recovery process of patients undergoing cardiac surgery during the covid-19 pandemic. This will focus on hemodynamic failure and organ dysfunction after surgery. Capturing real-world data and sharing international experience will inform the management of this complex group of patients who undergo surgery throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, improving their clinical care. This investigator-led, non-commercial, non-interventional does not collect any patient identifiable information.
Studies suggest an association between retinal abnormalities and NCD (Neuro Cognitive Disorders) whether they are linked to proven or prodromal Alzheimer's disease (aMCI : amnestic mild cognitive impairment), or to other neurodegenerative diseases such as frontotemporal dementia or Lewy body diseases. These retinal anomalies objectified by OCT-A (Optical coherence tomography angiography) and adaptive optics (AO) appear different depending on the pathologies and could therefore serve as markers in vivo of the pathophysiological processes underlying NCD. No study to date has studied the retina and its vessels in NCD using adaptive optics. In this pilot study, we are proposing a combination of two new ophthalmological imaging techniques (OCT-A and AO), which allow rapid in vivo analysis in a completely non-invasive way of the morphology of small vessels as well as architecture of the retina to better specify the retinal anomalies associated with NCD. We will compare the parameters in OCT-A and AO between patients with NCD and controls without NCD (with memory complaint or without) and will seek to determine if there are different profiles according to the causes of NCD.
Skin carcinomas are the most frequent cancers in the world, including basal cell carcinomas and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCCs), with more than 60.000 new annual cases in France. Their incidence increases mainly due to ultraviolet (UV) exposure and population ageing. Then from 1994 to 2006, the incidence of cSCC has increased by 300%. CSCCs typically manifests as a spectrum from a precursor actinic keratosis (AK) - possible spontaneous regression at this stage- to in situ cSCC invasive cSCC and finally metastatic cSCC.
