There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study aims to monitor the safety and effectiveness of the Occlutech AFR device in patients with heart failure for 3 years following AFR device implantation.
Since its recent marketizing in France, the cannabidiol (CBD), a major component of cannabis, is used in many over-the-counter products in France. Some painful patients or patients suffering from addiction seem to use the CBD in search of therapeutic effects. Yet, there are no data available for patients in algology and addictology, particularly with regard to the prevalence of the use of CBD, the effects sought and felt. Faced with the emergence of the use of a substance with a therapeutic purpose but outside a medical framework and without monitoring of adverse effects, it becomes essential to characterize the use of CBD. The main objective of the study is therefore to assess the prevalence of CBD users in algology and addictology departments. Secondary objectives are to characterize the use of CBD as well as the users of CBD, and to evaluate the impact of the use of CBD on other psychoactive substances use or current drug treatments and the drug liking of CBD.
The Ministry of Health has set the target of eradicating hepatitis C (HCV) in France by 2025. The goal is to validate the feasibility and value of conducting routine HCV screening in hospitalized patients.
Respiratory involvement of SARS-CoV2 leads to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and significant immunosuppression (lymphopenia) exposing patients to long ventilation duration and late mortality linked to the acquisition of nosocomial infections. Lymphopenia characteristic of severe forms of ARDS secondary to SARS-CoV2 infection may be linked to expansion of MDSCs and arginine depletion of lymphocytes. Severe forms of COVID-19 pneumonitis are marked by persistent ARDS with acquisition of nosocomial infections as well as by prolonged lymphocytic dysfunction associated with the emergence of MDSC. It has been found in intensive care patients hypoargininaemia, associated with the persistence of organ dysfunction (evaluated by the SOFA score), the occurrence of nosocomial infections and mortality. Also, it has been demonstrated that in these patients, the enteral administration of ARG was not deleterious and increased the synthesis of ornithine, suggesting a preferential use of ARG by the arginase route, without significant increase in argininaemia nor effect on immune functions. L-citrulline (CIT), an endogenous precursor of ARG, is an interesting alternative to increase the availability of ARG. Recent data demonstrate that the administration of CIT in intensive care is not deleterious and that it very significantly reduces mortality in an animal model of sepsis, corrects hypoargininemia, with convincing data on immunological parameters such as lymphopenia, which is associated with mortality, organ dysfunction and the occurrence of nosocomial infections. The availability of ARG directly impacts the mitochondrial metabolism of T lymphocytes and their function. The hypothesis is therefore that CIT supplementation is more effective than the administration of ARG to correct hypoargininaemia, decrease lymphocyte dysfunction, correct immunosuppression and organ dysfunction in septic patients admitted to intensive care. The main objective is to show that, in patients hospitalized in intensive care for ARDS secondary to COVID-19 pneumonia, the group of patients receiving L-citrulline for 7 days, compared to the group receiving placebo, has a score of organ failure decreased on D7 (evaluated by the SOFA score) or by the last known SOFA score if the patient has died or been resuscitated.
The study aims at assessing the efficacy and the safety of hydrocortisone combined with fludrocortisone compared to placebo in ICU adults with critical illness related corticosteroid insufficiency.
The primary objective of the study aims to compare the effect of high-dose intravenous vitamin C vs. placebo on a composite of death or persistent organ dysfunction - defined as continued dependency on mechanical ventilation, new renal replacement therapy, or vasopressors - assessed at 28 days on intensive care unit (ICU) patients. As secondary objectives, the study aims: - To compare the effect of high-dose intravenous vitamin C vs. placebo on: 1. 6-month mortality; 2. 6-month HRQoL; 3. organ function (days 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, and 28 if in ICU); 4. global tissue dysoxia (at baseline); 5. oxygenation Index (FiO2 x Mean Airway Pressure/PaO2) (days 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, and 28 if in ICU, and if still intubated); 6. occurrence of stage 3 acute kidney injury as defined by KDIGO (Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes) criteria20; 7. acute hemolysis as defined by: - clinician judgment of hemolysis, as recorded in the chart, or - hemoglobin drop of at least 25 g/L within 24 hours of a dose of investigational product PLUS 2 of the following: - reticulocyte count >2 times upper limit of normal at clinical site lab; - haptoglobin < lower limit of normal at clinical site lab; - indirect (unconjugated) bilirubin >2 times upper limit of normal at clinical site lab; - lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) >2 times upper limit of normal at clinical site lab. Severe hemolysis: - hemoglobin < 75 g/L AND at least 2 of the above criteria AND requires 2 units of packed red blood cells; 8. hypoglycemia as defined as core lab-validated glucose levels of less than < 3.8 mmol/L. - To assess baseline vitamin C levels in study participants (before the first dose of investigational product).
Participants in this study will have diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) that has come back or not gotten better with treatment. The trial will study whether brentuximab vedotin plus two drugs works better to treat this type of cancer than the two drugs alone. Participants will be randomly assigned to get either brentuximab vedotin or placebo. The placebo will look like brentuximab vedotin, but has no medicine in it. Since the study is "blinded," participants and their doctors will not know whether a participant gets brentuximab vedotin or placebo. All participants in the study will get rituximab and lenalidomide. These are drugs that can be used to treat DLBCL.
In mid-February 2020, within the Oise (France) cluster, a case of COVID-19 disease caused by a SARS-CoV2 infection was described among the personnel of the Creail Air Force Base (BA110). This resulted in the beginning of an epidemic controlled by epidemiological measures. One month later, containment measures were taken at the national level, measures that also applied to BA110 personnel. These personnel, exposed to both the initial phase of the epidemic and national protection measures, represent an extremely interesting population for understanding the epidemiological dynamics of the virus, particularly at a time when France is lifting the containment measures. It becomes extremely important to understand the levers of viral spread in order to adjust the health measures to be maintained as best as possible. The main objective of this study is to determine the extent of virus diffusion in this highly circulating population, as evidenced by several identified cases of COVID-19.
A study evaluating the safety, preliminary efficacy and pharmacokinetics of ipatasertib in combination with atezolizumab and docetaxel in participants with mCRPC previously treated with second-generation AR (Androgen Receptor)-targeted therapy. The study consists of two parts: [1] Part A: Safety run-in cohort of approximately 12 participants; [2] Part B: Expansion cohort of approximately 38 participants. All participants in this study will continue to be treated until progression of disease, loss of clinical benefit, unacceptable toxicity or withdrawal of consent.
According to recent data, death rate is more than 20% for 75 years old hospitalized patients and older. In case of aggravation, according to the latest observations, if they are refused for mechanical ventilation in intensive care, their death rate could reach 60% even for patients without comorbidity. Apart from an increase in oxygen therapy, no specific treatment is currently proposed. The control of the inflammatory component seems to be a key element to be able to influence the patients' health evolution. Polyvalent intravenous immunoglobilins have immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties with a favorable safety profile for these elderly patients and several clinical cases lead to positive impact in the caring for Covid patients. This study objective is evaluation of the efficacy of polyvalent IVIg in combination with the standard management of patients aged 75 and over with SARSCov2 infection with acute respiratory failure (saturation ≤ 95%) requiring oxygen therapy> 5 L / min (i.e. patients considered as moderate to severe ARDS according to the Berlin definition, Pa02 / Fi02≤200) and disqualified from a care in the ICU.
