There are about 3961 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Finland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Pancreatic resections carry a high risk for complications, especially pancreatic fistula. Both hydrocortisone and pasireotide have been shown to be effective in reducing complications in earlier RCTs. The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness and safety of these two drugs in preventing complications of pancreatic surgery.
The purpose of the study is to compare the safety and efficacy of Tafasitamab with BEN versus RTX with BEN in adult patients with relapsed of refractory DLBCL.
Epithelial ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological malignancy in developed countries and the fifth most common cause of cancer-related death in women. Poor prognosis is due to challenges in early diagnosis and development of inevitable resistance to chemotherapy in majority of patients despite of good initial treatment response. The purpose of this prospective study is to analyze variation in microRNA expression in prediction of primary treatment response and the role of microRNAs in development of chemoresistance in epithelial ovarian cancer. • Objectives: To screen microRNAs from prospectively collected plasma, urine and tumor samples from patients diagnosed with epithelial ovarian cancer. Samples are analyzed for microRNA expression and differential expression is correlated with primary treatment response, progression-free survival and overall survival. • Methods: Plasma, urine and tumor samples are collected at primary surgery (open surgery or diagnostic laparoscopy) or interval debulking surgery, at 1st, 3rd and 6th neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy and at progression for high-throughput screening of microRNA expression by array technology.
This will be a prospective collection of pre-defined parameters on the treatment of male stress urinary incontinence by an artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) and male sling. The data collection will be undertaken from multiple centers in Europe. The participation will be by open invitation to all members of the Female & Functional Section of the EAU (ESFFU) along with other urologists undertaking these procedures. There will be a call via the European Association of urology (EAU) to all European Urologists to register for database entry. There will be no restriction on the number of patients enrolled as long as they are consecutive. The aim is to have a long term collection of the data set from as many centers as possible. An initial assessment for the robustness of the data collection will be undertaken at 3 months by a nominated steering committee. However, the first clinical evaluation of the data collected will commence at 1 year by the steering committee. Thereafter, the evaluations will be performed after every 2 years.
This study evaluates the effect of vegetation cover on certain Interleukin-10 and immunoglobulinE (IgE) among children (3-5 y old). Children will either be in a kindergarten that does not have forest floor and agricultural land in the backyards, or alternatively they will be in a kindergarten that does have forest floor and agricultural land in the backyards.
The aim of this study is to investigate the safety and effectivity of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) surgery. In this multi center study the population consists of POP operations done in Finland year 2015.The study is prospective and validated questionnaires are used to measure the symptoms of POP and the quality of life before and six months after the operation. Methods and complications of surgery are reported by doctors in all 40 participant hospitals.
The aim of the study is to compare the effect of lifestyle intervention (diet and physical activity) by applying modern approaches to lifestyle changes on the prevention of incident T2DM and the worsening of hyperglycemia in people with high number of T2DM risk alleles and in people with low number of T2DM risk alleles compared to corresponding control groups.
In cases of benign adnexal mass laparoscopic surgery, women were randomized to two groups: transumbilical vs. transabdominal removal. Need for pain medication, postoperative pain and patients´ satisfaction were assessed between the groups, as well as surgeons´ opinions and costs.
This is a phase 1/2 open label study to assess the safety and efficacy of pixantrone in combination with bendamustine, etoposide and , for CD20 positive B-cell lymphomas, rituximab (P[R]EBEN), in patients with relapsed aNHL of B- or T-cell phenotype.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of enzalutamide plus androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) as measured by radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) based on central review. The study also evaluated the safety of enzalutamide plus ADT in mHSPC.
