Non-treatment extension to study A3051123, aimed at collecting data on cardiovascular safety for all participants in the A3051123 trial for an additional 28 weeks, allowing for a total of 52 weeks of cardiovascular safety data collection.
Tumours of the brain and of the central nervous system (CNS) are the most common solid tumours in children. Amongst these, gliomas are the most frequent, although this term covers different histological subtypes, the most frequent being astrocytoma. However, they are rare diseases of low prevalence. The interest in the cisplatin/irinotecan combination in brain tumours motivated a previous pilot study at our hospital, with encouraging results. This experience, together with the need for new strategies for high-risk pediatric gliomas has motivated the conduct of this study.
The efficacy of raloxifene versus placebo was compared over a six-month period, as an adjuvant treatment of the negative symptoms of schizophrenia in a group of 80 post-menopausal women. The aim of the study is to analyze whether raloxifene has an effect on the positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia, and on psychopathological symptoms in general, and on social and neuropsychological functioning, and to study the influence of genetic polymorphisms in treatment response.
The purpose of this study is to assess efficacy, as determined by the proportion of subjects with Sustained Virologic Response at Post-Treatment Week 12 (SVR12), defined as Hepatitis C virus (HCV) Ribonucleic acid (RNA) < Limit of quantitation (LOQ) at post-treatment Week 12.
This study will evaluate whether the addition of daily BKM120 to weekly paclitaxel is effective and safe in treating patients with HER2- locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.
The aim of the study is to determine the safety and feasibility of an autologous mononuclear stem cells infusion in pressure ulcers of paraplegic patients; and moreover, to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment.
This clinical trial is designed to investigate differences in terms of efficacy (mean change in best corrected visual acuity obtained after 12 months of treatment) and safety, of 3 therapeutic estrategies for non-tractional macular edema in diabetic patients: a) laser alone; b) laser plus tiramcinolon; and c) laser plus bevacizumab.
This multicenter, open-label, single-arm, Phase IIIb study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of pertuzumab in combination with trastuzumab (Herceptin) and a taxane (docetaxel, paclitaxel or nab-paclitaxel) in first-line treatment in participants with metastatic or locally recurrent HER2-positive breast cancer. Participants will receive pertuzumab intravenously (IV) and trastuzumab (Herceptin) IV plus a taxane in cycles of 3 weeks each until predefined study end, unacceptable toxicity, withdrawal of consent, disease progression, or death, whichever occurs first.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of telaprevir in combination with Peg-IFN-alfa-2a and ribavirin in stable liver transplant patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1.
