Prophylaxis With Apixaban in Transplant Eligible Patients With Multiple Myeloma Receiving Induction Therapy With IMiDs

Interventional, no-randomized, open-label, and single arm multicentre study of apixaban for the prevention of thromboembolic events during induction therapy in transplant-eligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma who receive bortezomib, thalidomide, and dexamethasone (VTD) during the induction phase of therapy prior to autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). The current study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of apixaban during the induction period. Efficacy will be defined as a composite endpoint of acute symptomatic proximal and distal deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, VTE related deaths, and acute ischemic stroke.

This study will assess the safety and effectiveness of fimaporfin-induced photochemical internalisation (PCI) of gemcitabine complemented by systemic gemcitabine/cisplatin chemotherapy compared to gemcitabine/cisplatin alone, in patients with inoperable cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the treatment groups and will receive study treatment for 6 months, followed by assessments every 3 months, as applicable.

The main aims of the study are: - To check for side effects from TAK-994 and check what dose of TAK-994 participants can tolerate. - To check what dose range provides adequate relief of narcolepsy symptoms. - To check how much TAK-994 stays in the blood of participants, over time. The study will have 4 parts. Participants can only join 1 of the parts. A. Participants with type 1 narcolepsy will take either TAK-994 or placebo tablets for 28 days. A placebo looks just like TAK-994 but will not have any medicine in it. B. Participants with type 1 narcolepsy will take 1 of 3 doses of TAK-994 or placebo tablets for 56 days. C. Participants with type 1 narcolepsy in China only will take TAK-994 or placebo tablets for 56 days. D. Participants with type 2 narcolepsy will take either TAK-994 or placebo tablets for 28 days.

Assessing Safety and Performance of the ANA Catheter System, Combined With a Stent Retriever in Acute Ischemic Stroke

The ANA catheter system (may also be designated as "ANA system", "ANA 18 -002" or "ANA device") is a distal access catheter designed to assist in neurovascular procedures by facilitating the insertion and guiding of other devices (i.e. retrieval devices and intravascular catheters) and restricting blood flow at the target position. It is a sterile, single-use, disposable intravascular device comprised of two coaxial catheters (delivery catheter and funnel catheter) consisting of sections of variable stiffness. The funnel catheter is comprised of a radiopaque nitinol braid (self-expanding funnel), covered by a continuous silicone coating that, when deployed, provides local and temporary flow restriction. The delivery catheter has a hydrophilic coating to reduce friction during use and a radiopaque marker on the distal end. Both catheters have Luer lock hubs on their proximal end. The proposed study has been designed to collect prospective clinical evidence to compare the Anaconda ANA device to similar devices used for guiding and supporting stent retrievers during neurothrombectomy procedures. The protocol has been designed to replicate the patient population enrolled in prior studies of similar devices. The primary endpoint will be ability of the investigational device to facilitate stentriever deployment and neurothrombectomy in the anterior circulation, with successful reperfusion defined as achieving a modified Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction (mTICI) score of ≥2b in the target vessel with ≤3 passes of the investigational device without the use of rescue therapy. Follow-up at 24h, Day 5 (+/- 12 h) or discharge, whichever comes first and at 90 days will allow documentation of the clinical outcome of the neurothrombectomy procedure as a whole and detect any device related and other complications, making use of the ANA device for distal access.

Impact of Corpus Luteum Presence or Absence in the Incidence of Preeclampsia After Frozen Embryo Transfer

Identifying modifiable factors that contribute to preeclampsia risk associated with assisted reproduction can improve maternal health. Recent studies have shown an increased risk for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy after in vitro fertilization, particularly for pregnancies occurring during a hormone replacement therapy such a donor egg recipient and a frozen embryo transfer. This risk may be partly attributable to the degree by which the assisted reproductive treatment affects the maternal hormonal environment, when the corpus luteum is a major source of reproductive hormones. On the other hand, cryopreserved embryos are usually thawed and replaced in in a natural or hormonally manipulated cycle; on this point, frozen embryo transfer is associated with better perinatal outcome regarding preterm birth and low birth weight yet higher risk of large for gestational age and macrosomia compared to fresh transfer. The objective of our study is to investigate whether the absence of corpus luteum adversely affects pregnancy and to analyse if there are differences in the perinatal outcomes due to differences in the endometrial preparation protocol for a frozen embryo transfer.
