There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Solid tumours contain varying degrees of hypoxia. Studies show hypoxia to be associated with poor local control and survival, as hypoxia is a cause of resistance to radio- and chemotherapy and the development of a more aggressive tumour. Previous attempts to measure hypoxia have been biased because the techniques have been invasive, not repeatable or difficult to apply on a routine basis. There is great interest in trying to measure hypoxia in tumours as this could lead to individualized hypoxia-modifying therapy and prediction of treatment response. Additionally the investigators' knowledge of change in hypoxia over time is limited, but of great interest as individualised treatment, such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is emerging. 18F-FAZA, appears promising. It is a nitroimidazole, which gets trapped in hypoxic cells and can be detected by a positron emission therapy (PET) scan. Compared to other nitroimidazoles, 18F-FAZA has superior biokinetics and thereby is believed to provide a faster and clearer image of hypoxia. The investigators' hypothesis is that 18F-FAZA can be used as a prognostic marker in HNSCC.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether subcutaneous immunoglobulin given in small doses, is effective in maintaining the force, in patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy compared with placebo (saline infusions), and intravenous immunoglobulin.
The aim of the study is to compare the performance characteristics of EUS-FNA 22 Gauge needle and EUS FNA 25 Gauge needle in terms of cellularity and diagnostic yield for diagnosis of various pathologies, including lymph nodes, pancreatic, luminal and other lesions outlined by EUS.

The investigators hypothesise that cementless one-stage exchange revision surgery can be performed in patients with chronically infected hip replacement with substantial benefits for the patients, in terms of fast rehabilitation, low re-revision rates and good long term results.
The trial will be performed to evaluate if BIBF 1120 in combination with paclitaxel and carboplatin is more effective than placebo in combination with paclitaxel and carboplatin in first-line treatment of patients with advanced ovarian cancer. Safety information about BIBF1120/paclitaxel/carboplatin will be obtained.
This study is being conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of ofatumumab in addition to salvage chemotherapy versus rituximab in addition to salvage chemotherapy in CD20 positive DLBCL subjects relapsing, or with persistent disease, after first-line treatment with rituximab combined with an anthracycline-based chemotherapy regimen and be eligible for ASCT.
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of playing video games on various components of energy balance and substrate metabolism as well as on glucose homeostasis and relevant hormonal systems that might be involved in the underlying mechanisms.
Pregnant women are at particular risk during the imminent H1N1v influenza pandemic. The new H1N1v virus requires urgent political and medical decisions on vaccination strategies in order to minimize severe disease and death from this pandemic. However, there is a lack of evidence to build such decisions upon. A vaccine will be provided in the fourth quarter of 2009, but there is little knowledge on the immunogenicity. Particularly its clinical effectiveness and duration of immunity in pregnant women and their newborn infants is unknown. Therefore, it will be important to study the optimal vaccination regimens with respect to dosing and use of adjuvant to decide future health policies on vaccination of pregnant women. We have a unique possibility to study these aspects of H1N1v infection in pregnant women in our ongoing unselected, prospective, birth-cohort study recruiting 800 pregnant mothers between Q1- 2009 and Q4-2010. Pregnant women from East-Denmark are being enrolled during the 2nd trimester and their infant will undergo a close clinical follow-up. The H1N1v pandemic is expected to reach Denmark Q4-2009. The timing of this enrollment and the imminent pandemic allows for an "experiment of nature" whereby the first half of the mothers completes pregnancy before the H1N1v pandemic. The other half of this cohort will be pregnant while H1N1v is prevalent in the community and will require H1N1v vaccination. The aim of this randomized, controlled, trial is to compare and evaluate the dose-related immune protection conferred by vaccine and adjuvant (Novartis vaccine Focetria) in pregnant women and non-pregnant women. In addition the protocol will assess the passive immunity conferred to the newborn from these vaccine regimes. The study will provide evidence-based guidance for health policies on vaccination for the population of pregnant women during future H1N1v pandemics.
In a randomized, double-blind, cross-over trial, 48 patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty with placement of an intracapsular catheter will be randomized to receive bolus injection of ropivacaine in high volume/low concentration (20 ml, 5 mg/mL) or low volume/high concentration (10 mL, 10 mg/mL) 6 and 24 hours postoperatively, and pain will be assessed at rest and with mobilization for 2 hours after injections.
