There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this pilot study is to test an exercise-based multidimensional intervention for patients with acute leukaemia undergoing consolidation chemotherapy in the context of outpatient management. Further, to test for safety, feasibility and preliminary effect on physical and functional capacity, and health related quality of life.
The investigators want to relate disturbances in first-episode schizophrenic patients in (dopaminergic) D2 receptors, brain structure, brain function, and information processing to each other and to psychopathology. Additionally, the investigators want to examine the influence of D2 receptor blockade on these disturbances. The investigators expect disturbances in the dopaminergic system at baseline to correlate with specific structural and functional changes and with disruption in information processing as measured with psychophysiological and neurocognitive methods - and investigators expect D2 receptor blockade to reverse some of the functional and cognitive impairments. The investigators do not expect any effect of treatment on brain structure.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of a supervised high-intensity exercise programme followed by an unsupervised exercise programme to an unsupervised exercise programme in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Chronic Pain is a wellknown complication after cholecystectomy. Intensity of the pain in the first week after the operation is a predictive factor for the development of chronic pain, but it is unknown whether the risk is more related to one of the different components of acute pain (ie somatic, visceral, referred). Furthermore the chronic pain has not been systematically described in terms of type of pain or sensory abnormalities etc. (allodynia, hyperalgesia etc.). The purpose of the study is to examine whether intensity of components of acute pain is predictive for development of chronic pain after cholecystectomy and to characterize the chronic pain by quantitative sensory testing. DNA-samples are collected to examine genetical factors, important for perception of pain, and the development of chronic pain.
A comparison of three different devices using near infrared spectroscopy to measure the regional oxygenation. Both absolute values, reproducibility of measurements and sensitivity to changes will be estimated. The study hypothesis is that NONIN EQUANOX 7600 with sensor Model 8004CA, INVOS 5100c with sensor SAFB-SM and FORE-SIGHT with medium sensor have similar characteristics.
Shoulder pain is a well known problem after thoracical surgery. The pathogenesis of the pain is uncertain, but mainly a mix of referred pain and mechanical strain to the shoulder. It is believed to last a few days. Persisting shoulder pain after thoracical surgery is a problem 1 year after surgery, but it is unknown if it is related to acute postoperative shoulder pain. The purpose of the study is to systematically describe postoperative shoulder pain after lobectomy and examine the time progress up to 1 year after surgery.
The purpose of this study is to elucidate the value of dual-time-point PET/CT in the recurrence of breast cancer and to determine whether the method is better than the modalities used in the standard work up. 150 patients with suspected breast cancer recurrence will be included. All patients will undergo dual-time-point PET/CT, CT of thorax and upper abdomen and bone scintigraphy. After completion of the examinations the early and the late PET/CT scan will be compared with each other, the diagnostic CT-scan and the bone scintigraphy. A verification of suspicious findings will be done by biopsy, if the area is accessible. If a biopsy cannot be obtained, the presence of recurrence will be verified with additional imaging follow-up to ensure the highest possible confidence. Sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, negative and positive predictive value (NPV/PPV) will be calculated for each modality (incl. early and late PET/CT).
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Adductor-Canal-Blockade (ACB) is superior to placebo when it comes to analgetic efficacy in high pain responders after Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). High pain responders are defined as patients reporting VAS > 60 during knee flexion the 1. or 2. day after surgery.
This study is conducted in Europe. The aim of this study is to investigate safety and efficacy in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus starting or switching to biphasic insulin aspart 30 (NovoMix® 30) treatment.
Chronic Pain after Cholecystectomy is a well known problem. One theory is that it is due to persisting inflammation. The purpose of the study is to measure inflammatory factors in cerebrospinal fluid and blod at patients 12 months after the operation. DNA-samples are collected to examine genetical factors, important for perception of pain, and the development of chronic pain.
