There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of the study is to assess changes in health-related quality of life in patients undergoing surgical correction of pectus carinatum. In addition, the study assessed long-term effects of surgical intervention in relation to the development of persistent postoperative pain and / or sensory disturbances in the surgical field.
The aim of this study is to increase our knowledge about the effect of physical activity in patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgery. The study will provide novel information in two areas. The main objective is to study the effect of physical activity on the weight loss and cardiovascular risk factors. This will be accomplished in a randomized clinical trial in patients, who are eligible for gastric bypass (GB). Patients will be randomized to six month of structured physical activity or standard postoperative counseling. The study will include an exhaustive panel of blood tests related to cardiovascular risk and the most extensive evaluation of structural and functional vascular test done in this patient group so far. In addition the study will provide information of the effect of bariatric surgery per se since both pre- and postoperative investigations are conducted. The study will learn us to what degree it is possible to motivate this group of patients to increased physical activity. All together this will enable us to improve the counseling of the patients undergoing GB.
- Due to the increased risk of brain damage, continuous monitoring of the cerebral oxygenation is interesting. The investigators will evaluate the capability of the INVOS Oximeter to detect induced changes in the cerebral regional saturation. - The purpose of the study is to investigate our hypothesis that cerebral vasoconstriction after oxygen exposure is prolonged in preterm infants compared to term infants.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of combined topotecan and veliparib (ABT888) treatment in relapsed ovarian cancer with tumor progression and negative or unknown BRCA mutation status.
The aim of the project is to compare two methods for arterial cannulation. The traditional method with ultrasound guided cannulation. The investigators goal is to improve this procedure to reduce pain and complications.
Results of growth factors indicate that Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMP) have an exceptional ability to stimulate different characteristics of mesenchymale cells to osseous cells. Local application of BMP results in an increase of osseous tissue regardless of the location of the growth factor. 5 years clinical studies show that BMP's can stimulate an increase of osseous tissue and improve clinical results when autologous bone graft is reduced or removed. The purpose of this study is to examine whether recombinant growth factor BMP-2 can replace autologous bone graft in order to stimulating ossification during transplantation of osseous tissue.
Klinefelter syndrome is the most common sex-chromosome disorder in men with a prevalence of 1 in 660 men. The syndrome is associated with hypogonadism. Many patients with Klinefelter syndrome have psychological complaints and physical discomfort. Some patients report a positive effect of testosterone treatment, whereas others do not. The aim of this study is: (i) To investigate quality of life in patients with Klinefelter syndrome. (ii) To investigate functional, physical and mental health in patients with Klinefelter syndrome. Questionnaire concerning mental and physical health and life quality are sent out to patients with KS and to age-, educational- and zipcode-matched men from the general population. The questionnaire include questions about housing, income, marital status, fatherhood, medication, chronic disease, school and education, attachment to the labor, sexual and erectile function, life quality, mental and physical health, satisfaction with life and symptoms of attention deficits hyperactivity disorders.
The aim of the study is to assess the effect of melatonin treatment in patients with osteopenia on BMD, muscle function, quality of life and calcium homeostasis.
What happens in the borderzone of a cerebral hemorrhage remains widely onknown and furhter the best timing for doing MR to look for vascular pathology in cerebral hemorrhage has not yet been determined. In this study we do acute MRS, a non-invasive imaging mathod to detemine the biochemsty in the border zone and structural MRI for vascular malformation. We repeat structural MRI after 8 weeks.
The primary objective is to study if an inhibition of nitric oxide and/or prostaglandins affect the diameter changes of retinal vessels observed during hypoxia. Diameter changes are studied using the Dynamic Vessel Analyzer.
