There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The hypothesis is that changes in the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) in the kidney is reflected in urinary exosomes and that the amount of ENaC as well as the cleavage degree is upregulated in conditions with low salt.
This is an international, multicenter, open-label, long-term safety study of ZX008 in subjects with Dravet syndrome.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive lung disease with a high mortality. Health-related quality of life (HRQL) is impaired in patients with IPF. Little is known about the properties of recently developed HRQL questionnaires and about the longitudinal changes in HRQL, including factors with an impact on HRQL. Comorbidities have an impact on patients with IPF, but reports differ in incidence and prevalence. The impact of comorbidities on HRQL and disease progression has only been studied sparsely. Also, the association between biomarkers and disease progression need to be examined further.
The aim is to investigate the impact that water absorption properties in adhesives has on adhesion.
Feasibility trial on the use of a hybrid optical device integrating time-resolved near-infrared spectroscopy (TRS) and diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS) for measurement of cerebral oxygen metabolism and blood flow in neonates. The device wil be tested in four settings measuring: 1. Changes in cerebral oxygenation and haemodynamics after birth 2. precision and repeatability 3. The cerebral vaso-reactivity to arterial carbon dioxide 4. Assessment of the user-friendliness and loss of signal in routine care
Starvation and metabolic stress increase circulating ketone bodies, potentially providing the heart with an alternative oxidative fuel. Hyperketonemia reduces myocardial fatty acid consumption. It is unclear whether this is due to inhibited peripheral lipolysis or diminished uptake per se. Aim: To test whether infusion of 3-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) inhibits myocardial glucose and fatty acid uptake. Methods: Randomized, single blinded, cross-over interventional study in 8 healthy volunteers. Myocardial glucose and fatty acid metabolism studied by 11C-palmitate and 18F-FDG PET/CT. Experimental elevation of circulating ketone bodies by infusion of β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate.
The purpose of this observational study of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) participants is to explore whether or not there are differences between participants treated with abiraterone acetate and enzalutamide on the health-related quality of life (HRQoL), Fatigue, Pain, Cognitive function and medical resource use (MRU).
This study will evaluate GMI-1271, a specific E-selectin antagonist, in multiple myeloma as adjunct to standard of care chemotherapy used to treat this disease.
The study evaluates the effects of metformin treatment on myocardial efficiency in heart failure patients. 36 patients will be randomized to three months of metformin or placebo treatment in addition to their regular therapy. Hypothesis: Treatment with metformin in patients with heart failure has direct or indirect beneficial effects on left ventricular myocardial oxidative metabolism, myocardial efficiency and contractile function.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of selective blocking of the mineralocorticoid receptor in patients with type 2 diabetes on insulin resistance, lipid metabolism and myocardial function.
