There are about 25560 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Germany. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
During the first funding period (1st FP) we investigated the impact of acute and chronic stress (Trier Social Stress Test, TSST) on Pavlovian-to-instrumental transfer (PIT). Moreover, we developed a novel full transfer task that allows assessing both general and specific PIT to investigate whether specific PIT differs between alcohol use disorder (AUD) and control subjects. We found that our online version of TSST induced stress and thereby amplified PIT effects in participants. Preliminary analyses of the full transfer task indicate that AUD participants exhibit a stronger specific PIT effect compared to controls. Based on these findings, we want to assess the following aim for this study: Investigate the effect of experimentally induced social exclusion on alcohol-specific and general PIT effects in AUD and control participants.
Participants will receive a pre-assessment and an exposure with a control spider. This control spider will be presented again at post-training assessments. Participants will then be assigned to one of the follow-up assessments: one week, six weeks or three months. The control spider (spider A) and a novel spider (spider B) will be used again at follow-up BATs to test for generalization of exposure effects.
The long-term goal is to define "signatures" in the form of genomic changes through sequence analyses of genomic DNA using modern Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) methods, which 1. determine the radiation exposure of humans. 2. provide information about the exposure (dose). 3. determine the radiation quality. 4. predict the repair capacity and radiation resistance of an individual.
The purpose of this study is to show if - compared to standard practice - allowing adults undergoing surgical procedures under anaesthesia care to drink clear fluids up to a volume of 200 ml between 2 h prior to the operation and the call to operation room (approximately 30 min prior to anaesthesia induction) will decrease patient thirst and increase patient satisfaction.
In this research project, the aim is to discover the role specific brain networks play in the relationship between stress reactions and the desire for alcohol and alcohol consumption. To investigate this question, various brain imaging methods as well as cognitive tasks are combined. Various questionnaires are sampled and brain scans are conducted. Individuals interested in participating in the study have to fulfill certain criteria... - no serious medical or mental health diagnosis - problematic alcohol drinking habits - interested in improving drinking habits ...and undergo various non-invasive procedures - filling out several questionnaires concerning personality and habits - undergoing a mental performance task while being in a brain scanner (MRI) - attempting to regulate their own brain activity while lying in the MRI scanner - filling out an electronic diary for 6 weeks - concerning daily mood, stress, and alcohol habits Participants will be randomly allocated to either one of 2 experimental groups. Both groups undergo the same tasks, receive the same instructions and only differ regarding some aspects of the brain self-regulation task .
Stress cardiac MRI is crucial for diagnosing coronary artery disease in adults. Currently, it is mainly performed with vasodilators in specialized centers. Introducing mobile CMR units could increase accessibility, especially in rural areas, potentially reducing unnecessary invasive procedures. The objectives include demonstrating the feasibility of mobile stress perfusion CMR, detecting CAD using Regadenoson, and evaluating the image quality of GE-267 in real-world scenarios.
This study will evaluate orally administered RVU120, a novel small molecule Cyclin-dependent Kinase (CDK) 8/19 inhibitor, in terms of erythroid hematologic improvement (HI-E) and safety in participants with lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Responding patients are eligible to continue treatment until loss of response/disease progression.
This is a Phase: II/III, open-label, multicenter (at least four centers in Germany) study of Sacituzumab Govitecan (SG) in metastatic colorectal cancer patients who are refractory to at least two lines of standard of care chemotherapy and not eligible for local therapy. There is no upper limit in the previous therapy lines. Patients must have documented progression or intolerability to combination chemotherapy including 5-fluoruacil or its prodrugs and derivates, Oxaliplatin and Irinotecan or a combination of the aforementioned. Previous biologicals/antibodies/small molecules including anti-EGFR and anti-VEGF directed therapies are allowed but not mandatory to meet eligibility. Trifluridin/Tipiracil (TAS102) or Regorafenib are allowed but not mandatory as previous therapies for PART I and PART II of the trial. All patients must have a documented Irinotecan-free interval of at least 6 months to be eligible for the study. The study consists of two parts: PART I: a single arm run in phase, treating 20 patients with Sacituzumab Govitecan (SG) PART II: a 1:1 randomized open label phase, comparing 30 patients treated with SG vs. 30 patients treated according to Physicians Choice (PhC). Crossover to the experimental arm (SG) is allowed in case of progression in the standard arm (PhC). PART II will only be started if significant clinical efficacy and activity is observed in PART I.
Train-METASTRA is a retrospective study that will be performed in order to collect a large and harmonised amount of clinical and imaging data concerning vertebral metastases, focusing in particular on the risk of fractures. This type of dataset will be created from the medical records of 2000 patients admitted in the last ten years in the four European clinical centers participating in METASTRA project: "COMPUTER-AIDED EFFECTIVE FRACTURE RISK STRATIFICATION OF PATIENTS WITH VERTEBRAL METASTASES FOR PERSONALISED TREATMENT THROUGH ROBUST COMPUTATIONAL MODELS VALIDATED IN CLINICAL SETTINGS", funded by the European Union under the call "HORIZON-HLTH-2022-TOOL-12-two-stage/Computational models for new patient stratification strategies". The project is coordinated by the University of Bologna (UNIBO) (PI prof. Luca Cristofolini) and involves 15 European partners, including Sarl Voisin Consulting Life Sciences VCLS, University of Szeged (Hungary), University of Sheffield (UK) and FrontEndART (Hungary). This type of dataset is not currently available in the literature and it will be pivotal to the development of the METASTRA computational models for the stratification of the risk of fracture of patients affected by spinal metastases.
The goal of this observational study is to evaluate an app to improve communication and information flows for persons suffering from Post-COVID-19 syndrome (PCS). The main questions it aims to answer are: - How can custom virtual characters (avatars) help to collect more data for the diagnosis of PCS? - Can conversations with virtual (mobile) characters (avatars) and the presentation of health data help to improve the diagnosis and understanding of PCS? - How should these virtual characters (avatars) be designed for people with PCS and healthcare professionals to be useful in the long term? This concerns appearance, dialog, personality and functions. Participants will be asked to use and test the app and take part in two interviews at the beginning and end of the study.
