Metal Stents (Moving Cell Stent) for Inoperable Tumors of the Bile Duct Tract

In this feasibility study (non-randomized), the applicability of a new "moving cell" biliary stents (by HILZO) in Klatskin tumors (bile duct obstruction) will be investigated. The HILZO Moving-Cell Stent to be examined here is a non-coated metal stent with a novelty. The meshes have a diameter of 4 mm, which is rather small compared to most other stents. This significantly increases the radial force and thus the stability of the stent. Furthermore, ingrowth by tumors in the stent is difficult. The special feature is that the individual meshes can easily be stretched to 10 mm without changing the stability of the stent. This allows a second stent to pass through the first to another segment of liver.

This study evaluates KRT-232, a novel oral small molecule inhibitor of MDM2, for the treatment of patients with Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) who have failed treatment with at least one anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy or in combination with avelumab in MCC patients who are anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 treatment naïve. Inhibition of MDM2 is a novel mechanism of action in MCC.

Automatic Oxygen Control (SPOC) in Preterm Infants

Single-center, randomised controlled, cross-over clinical trial in preterm infants born at gestational age below 34+1/7 weeks receiving supplemental oxygen and respiratory support (continous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or non-invasive ventilation (NIV) or invasive ventilation (IV)). Routine manual control (RMC) of the fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) will be tested against RMC supported by automatic control (SPOC) with "old"-algorithm and RMC supported by CLAC with "new"-algorithm. The first primary hypothesis is, that the use of the "new" algorithm results in more time within arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) target range compared to RMC only. The a-priori subordinate hypothesis is, that the new algorithm results in more time within SpO2 target range compared to SPOCold. The second primary hypothesis is, that the use of 2 seconds averaging time of the SpO2 Signal results in more time within arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) target range compared to the use of 8 seconds averaging interval of the SpO2 signal.

The prognostic relevance of isolated non-ischemic LGE (i.e. with no underlying "labelled" cardiomyopathy) is unclear, and current guidelines to not state on the clearance of athlete with this type of findings as regards to competitive or intense sport practice. The principal objective of the study is to evaluate during a five-years follow up, the clinical outcome of athletes with this kind of findings. The secondary objective is the determination of prognostic factors. The management and follow-up of the athletes will be let at the appraisal of each center.
