There are about 25560 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Germany. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Artificial intelligence (AI)-powered prognostic tools and clinical decision support systems can predict the outcome of certain diseases based on a multitude of patient data at high speed, facilitating decisions by healthcare professionals. In acute ischemic stroke, the overall treatment effect and population-wide outcome benefit of treatments such as IV thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy are well established. However, in individual patients it is difficult to predict the prognosis in the acute phase of stroke: some patients are candidates for these treatments, but may have poor clinical outcomes (no improvement of stroke or even worsening) Our aim in this study is to validate an artificial intelligence (AI)-based prognostic tool to provide accurate real-time outcome prediction in patients with acute ischemic stroke. During the study, all patients admitted to the emergency room with an acute ischemic stroke will receive the usual treatment for acute stroke in accordance with the stroke neurologists in charge. A "shadow" clinical researcher, without interaction with treating physicians, will collect the data required by the AI model in vivo. These data will be obtained by filling in clinical data through an App on a hospital mobile/tablet, and by a connection with your electronic medical record. The AI models will estimate the outcome of the acute stroke patient, and this prediction will be compared with the real outcome of the patient after 3 months of follow-up.
Intensive Lipid-Lowering Therapy guided by a cloud-based Software System (CLIMEDO GmbH) improves (European Society of Cardiolofgy/European Atherosclerosis Society) ESC/EAS-guideline recommended LDL-cholesterol target attainment and adherence in patients with ST-Elevation Myocardial (STEMI) and Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarctions (NSTEMI).
Pilot-trial of Methotrexate, Tafasitamab (Minjuvi®), Lenalidomide (Revlimid®) and Rituximab in patients ineligible for HCT-ASCT with Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL)
Vestibular schwannomas are primarily benign (WHO grade I) tumors originating from the Schwann cells of the vestibular nerve and are among the most common tumors of the skull base. Common treatment options are surgical tumor resection or targeted radiation therapy. The special challenge of surgical treatment is the functional preservation of the cranial nerves, especially the cochlear and facial nerves. Perioperative ischemia of the cochlea and cochlear nerve is postulated as the underlying mechanism of postoperative hearing loss. Ischemic preconditioning is a non-invasive procedure that triggers the release of vasoactive cytokines and mediators by repeated short-term induction of limb ischemia. Improved perfusion of critically perfused end organs as well as a reduction of cerebral infarct volumes has already been shown in other pathologies. In the planned study, possible neuroprotective effects of remote ischemic preconditioning on postoperative hearing as well as facial nerve function in patients with vestibular schwannomas will be examined.
This is a prospective, multicentric, european registry of patients with infective endocarditis undergoing cardiac surgery. Patient demographics, clinical data and laboratory values will be collected, as well as treatment outcomes at day 30, day 90 and 1-5 years after the intervention.
To determine whether a strategy of adding venovenous ECMO to mechanical ventilation, as compared to mechanical ventilation alone, increases the number of intensive care free days at day 60, in patients with moderate to severe acute hypoxic respiratory failure.
The POKAL-PSY project is a study that monitors participants for five years. The goal of the study is to identify distinguishable subtypes of depression on the basis of biomarkers and to gain insight into their prognostic significance.
In this study, the investigators will establish primary cell cultures from surgically resected gastric and gastroesophageal junction cancer specimen that were collected between 06/2018 and 05/2021.
To collect information about the management of symptomatic severe Aortic Stenosis (AS) and Aortic Regurgitation (AR) using transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI).
This is an observational study in which data from women with Chagas disease who will take or have already taken nifurtimox during pregnancy and the impact on their babies are studied. Chagas disease is an inflammatory, infectious disease caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. This parasite is mainly spread by insects called triatomine bug. If Chagas disease is left untreated, it can later cause e.g. serious heart and digestive problems. Nifurtimox has been used for more than 50 years to treat Chagas disease in children and adults. It is not recommended to be used during pregnancy as data from animal studies indicate that it may harm the baby. Currently, there are not enough data to know if this is also the case in humans. In this study, researchers want to collect data on the safety of nifurtimox use in pregnant women. To do this, researchers will collect the following information: - Birth defects (abnormal and problematic structures or functions, a child is born with) - Pregnancy outcomes (like live birth, preterm birth, still birth/death of the unborn baby, miscarriage, or abortion) - Certain health problems of the child up to 12 months of age - Certain health problems of the women experienced during pregnancy The data will be collected from different sources including telephone calls with the women or their doctor, CRFs (case reprt forms) or from medical records The researchers will compare the proportion of children with birth defects, pregnancy outcomes or certain health problems of the child or the women during pregnancy with available data on these outcomes in the general population. The study will run for approximately 10 years.
