A Study to Evaluate the Effect of SAR443820 on Serum Neurofilament Levels in Male and Female Adult Participants With Multiple Sclerosis

This is a Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled 2 parallel-arm study to assess the effect on serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL), safety and tolerability of oral SAR443820 compared to placebo in male and female participants aged 18 to 60 years with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS) (relapsing or non-relapsing), or primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) followed by an open-label long-term extension period. The total study duration is approximately 100 weeks and includes the following: 4-week screening period 48-week double-blind treatment period (Part A) 48-week open-label long-term extension period (Part B)

A Study of Fractional Carbon Dioxide Laser Treatment for Female Stress Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence (UI) is a common disease that refers to involuntary loss of urine. The prevalence of female UI varies widely across different studies, mostly ranging from 25-40%. Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is the most common type of UI. SUI is defined as involuntary loss of urine when abdominal pressure increases suddenly such as coughing or sneezing. SUI affects women's quality of life seriously, causing psychological problems such as anxiety and depression, even socialization difficulties. There are many treatment options for female SUI, including non-surgical and surgical interventions. Clinicians and patients need a highly effective and low-risk therapy urgently, thus energy-based therapies were born on demand. This study aims to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of the fractional CO2 laser in the treatment of female SUI, as well as its impact on women's quality of life.

Breastfeeding could effectively be associated with a lower risk of future type 2 diabetes (T2D) in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), but the short-term protective impact of puerperal breastfeeding on maternal metabolic recovery of GDM women remains unascertained. The investigators recruited GDM participants at 6-9 weeks postpartum and retrieved clinical diagnoses of GDM from electronic medical records. Feeding patterns were collected via phone calls. Glucose metabolism parameters and lipid profiling were performed on fasting plasma samples collected from patients 6-9 weeks postpartum (20 breastfeeding cases vs. 15 formula feeding cases).
