This study is not being conducted in the United States. This is a 52-week extension to a study to assess the safety and effectiveness of two doses of vildagliptin, an unapproved drug, in lowering overall blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes who had not previously been treated with drug therapy to lower their blood sugar and whose blood sugar levels were in a specified range. The purpose of the extension study is to gather data on the long term safety and effectiveness of vildagliptin in people with type 2 diabetes.

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of induction therapy R-ICE in comparison to R-DHAP after 3 cycles adjusted to successful mobilization of stem cells in patients with previously treated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma CD20. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, vindesine, bleomycin, and prednisone (ACVBP) plus rituximab in comparison to cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone (CHOP) plus rituximab in patients aged from 60 to 65 years with non-previously treated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma as measured by the event-free survival. The goal is to obtain a 10% increase of event-free survival at 3 years.

This study is designed to provide efficacy and safety data for formoterol 10µg twice-a-day (b.i.d.) delivered by the Certihaler in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This study is also designed to compare the efficacy and safety of therapy with formoterol (Certihaler)10µg b.i.d. added to tiotropium (HandiHaler) 18µg once daily (o.d.) compared with tiotropium (HandiHaler) 18µg o.d. monotherapy, and to compare the safety and efficacy of formoterol 10µg b.i.d. (Certihaler) with tiotropium 18µg o.d. (HandiHaler).
The primary objective was to determine the effect of teriflunomide on the frequency of relapses in patients with relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS). Secondary objectives were: - to evaluate the effect of teriflunomide on the accumulation of disability as measured by Expanded Disability Status Scale [EDSS], the burden of disease as measured by Magnetic Resonance Imaging [MRI] and patient-reported fatigue; - to evaluate the safety and tolerability of teriflunomide.
This randomized phase III trial is studying combination chemotherapy followed by surgery and two different combination chemotherapy regimens with or without PEG-interferon alfa-2b to compare how well they work in treating patients with osteosarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. Biological therapies, such as PEG-interferon alfa-2b, may interfere with the growth of tumor cells. Giving combination chemotherapy before surgery may shrink the tumor so it can be removed. Giving combination chemotherapy together with PEG-interferon alfa-2b after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells. It is not yet known whether giving combination therapy together with PEG-interferon alfa-2b is more effective than two different combination chemotherapy regimens alone after surgery in treating osteosarcoma.
