There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Computer-based navigation systems were first introduced to spine surgery in 1995 and while they have been long established as standards in certain cranial procedures, they have not been similarly adopted in spine surgery. Designed to overcome some of the limitations of navigation-based technologies, robot-guided surgical systems have become commercially available to surgeons worldwide. These systems are rapidly challenging the gold standards. The aim is to conduct a prospective randomized controlled trial. The randomized variable will be the screw placement technique used. One arm will be treated with lumbar fusion using robotic guidance (RG), one arm will receive the same procedure but with a free hand technique (FH) and the third arm will use navigation (NV) (CT or Fluoroscopy-assisted). Intraoperative screw revisions and revision surgery for screw malposition as well as clinical patient-reported outcomes to identify any such differences between these methods of screw insertion will be assessed.
This study will assess the impact of fever prevention on fever burden and short- and long-term neurologic outcomes in brain injured patients. Half of the subjects will undergo fever prevention using a targeted temperature management system and half of the subjects will be treated for fever should it develop.
The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy of CCX168 (avacopan) to induce and sustain remission in patients with active anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV), when used in combination with cyclophosphamide followed by azathioprine, or in combination with rituximab.
The purpose of this study is to better understand how female sex hormones influence the food intake in the gut system through the release of satiety hormones as well as through central regulative mechanisms in the brain that subsequently contribute to the control of eating in healthy women at different stages of the ovarian cycle.
Determination of fractional iron absorption from bouillon fortified with 3 labeled iron compounds.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability, describe the dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs), and determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) or maximum administered dose (MAD [in the absence of establishing the MTD]) for single agent MEDI3726 in subjects with mCRPC who have received prior treatment with abiraterone or enzalutamide, with or without a prior taxane-based chemotherapy in the mCRPC setting.
Trial comparing standard treatment (chemotherapy) with pembrolizumab treatment in patients with advanced pretreated malignant mesothelioma.
Treatment of vascular malformations requires the placement of a needle within anatomically non well defined, pathological vessels, which may be as small as 1 mm, with the current state of the art relying exclusively on two dimensional fluoroscopy images for guidance. The investigators hypothesize that the combination of stereotactic image guidance with existing targeting methods will result in faster and more reproducible needle placements.

The objective of this Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) is to evaluate whether the Systematic Tool to Reduce Inappropriate Prescribing (STRIP) including STRIP assistant (STRIPA) implemented by an appropriately qualified team will lead to an improvement in clinical and economic outcomes among patients aged 70 years and more with multimorbidity and polypharmacy.
