NCT ID: NCT03516162 Recruiting - Brain Tumor Clinical Trials

Linking Digital Smartphone Behaviour With Brain Function

SmartSurgery
Start date: April 20, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study will thus examine daily behaviour based on smartphone use and link it to the neurological and neuropsychological status as well as to neuroradiological studies that are part of the clinical routine. The study will examine behaviour changes before and after surgery, and how this change in measured behaviour with the smartphone relates to today's "gold standard", namely professional neuropsychological examination and quantification of brain damage on imaging studies (MRI). This study is a proof-of-principle study that intends to build the basis for larger future observational studies on patients with focal or diffuse brain pathologies.

NCT ID: NCT03515772 Completed - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Drug-drug Interactions Between Antiretroviral Drugs and Cardiovascular Drugs in Elderly Patients

Start date: April 23, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Ageing is characterized by physiological changes, which can impact drug pharmacokinetics and thereby cause drug-drug interactions. This study aims to assess the pharmacokinetics of amlodipine, atorvastatin and rosuvastatin in the presence of darunavir/ritonavir (inhibitor of drug metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters), by comparison with dolutegravir (no inhibitory effects on cytochromes or transporters involved in the disposition of the evaluated co-medications), in order to characterize the importance of drug-drug interactions in elderly individuals.

NCT ID: NCT03515395 Withdrawn - Aging Clinical Trials

Entertainement and Training After a Hip Fracture

ENTERAIN-HF
Start date: August 15, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Older persons are at riskt for falls and fractures. After hip surgery they are normally treated with physical or occupational therapy. The additional use of computer based exercise games for training and the acceptance of such a technology are unclear. Thus, we plant to assess the above outcome ins an observational pilot study.

NCT ID: NCT03514758 Completed - Ability, Spatial Clinical Trials

Evaluation and Optimization of Hearing Devices in 3-D Complex Audio Environments

Start date: March 26, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A methodical evaluation of novel sound changing principles in CE-labelled Sonova brand hearing instruments (e.g. Phonak hearing instruments) is intended to be conducted on hearing impaired participants. These sound changing principles are enabled by respective hearing instrument technologies and hearing instrument algorithms. The aim of the study is to investigate and assess strengths and weaknesses of these novel sound changing principles in terms of hearing performance to determine their application in hearing instruments (Phase of development). Both, objective laboratory measurements as well as subjective evaluations in real life environment will be carried out. This will be a controlled, single blinded and randomised active comparator clinical evaluation which will be conducted mono centric at the University Hospital of Zürich.

NCT ID: NCT03513718 Completed - Surgery Clinical Trials

Acute Kidney Injury After Cardiac Surgery on CPB

Start date: October 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this retrospective study is to determine the incidence and severity of acute kidney injuries (AKI) after heart surgery on cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

NCT ID: NCT03513614 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Node-positive Breast Cancer

Tailored Axillary Surgery With or Without Axillary Lymph Node Dissection Followed by Radiotherapy in Patients With Clinically Node-positive Breast Cancer (TAXIS)

TAXIS
Start date: August 7, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: The use of tailored axillary dissection as a tailored procedure will avoid surgical overtreatment by selectively removing the lymph nodes that are affected by the cancer, thereby sparing many women the unnecessary complications of a radical surgery, providing a better quality of life while keeping the same efficacy. PURPOSE: The phase III trial is evaluating the optimal treatment for breast cancer patients in terms of surgery and radiotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT03512951 Completed - Clinical trials for Hearing Loss, Sensorineural

Subjective Evaluation of a Sound Processing Method for Hearing Aids on Auditory Distance Perception

EXTEND
Start date: October 9, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Within the course of this study, a signal processing feature has been developed at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), in collaboration with Sonova AG, in order to enhance the listening experience with remote microphone systems. In particular, the developed feature is supposed to improve the so-called audio-visual fusion, i.e. the fact to perceive the sound as coming from the physical location of the source. One of the main goals of the present study is to evaluate the extent to which this feature reaches that objective.

NCT ID: NCT03512652 Completed - Clinical trials for Passiv Continuous Patella Mobilisation

Clinical Study to Assess the Effectiveness of the Device Patello

Patello
Start date: May 31, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The device "Patello" was designed to passively mobilize the Patella in cranial-caudal direction. Its application field lays in the rehabilitation of any knee pathology where knee range of motion may be restricted due to the Patella mobility.

NCT ID: NCT03512197 Completed - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)

A Global Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Midostaurin + Chemotherapy in Newly Diagnosed Patients With FLT3 Mutation Negative (FLT3-MN) Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)

Start date: July 20, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to confirm the preliminary evidence from early clinical trials that midostaurin may provide clinical benefit not only to AML patients with the FLT3-mutations but also in FLT3-MN (SR<0.05) AML (FLT3 mutant to wild type signal ratio below the 0.05 clinical cut-off). This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of midostaurin in combination with daunorubicin or idarubicin and cytarabine for induction and intermediate-dose cytarabine for consolidation, and midostaurin single agent post-consolidation therapy in newly diagnosed patients with FLT3-MN (SR<0.05) AML.
