There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
To demonstrate the potential role of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) by iodine maps data, aimed at discriminating colon cancer from colon wall pseudo-thickening.
This is a postmarket clinical follow up study on the safety and effectiveness of the Edwards PASCAL Transcatheter Valve Repair System and the Edwards PASCAL Precision Transcatheter Valve Repair System in transcatheter mitral valve repair.
Mycobacterium chimaera infections have occurred in post-cardiac surgery patients in association with contaminated cardiac bypass heater-cooler devices. So far optimal therapeutical concepts are not clear. At the University Hospital Basel Mycobacterium chimaera- infected protheses are replaced to decrease pathogenic burden and to support antibiotic long- term treatment. This study is to analyze the efficacy of this therapeutic approach.
The investigators will compare two types of rehabilitation in patients who undergo a surgery for treatment of malleolar fractures: immediate complete weight-bearing and delayed weight-bearing. The investigators want to evaluate if the immediate complete weight-bearing can improve and hasten the functional outcome of the ankle without increasing the risk of complications.
This study is to investigate if portal vein pulsatility fraction can be measured in pregnancy and if it increases during the course of pregnancy as would be expected by the physiologic increase in blood volume that happens during pregnancy. Portal vein pulsatility fraction is measured in non-pregnant controls and in women in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
The aim of this study is to assess the clinical, biomechanical and functional outcome 2 years after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair and InternalBraceTM augmentation now in direct comparison to ACL reconstruction and to identify potential deficits compared to the contralateral healthy side as well as with a knee-healthy age-matched collective. In addition, socio-economic aspects such as return to work and sports and treatment cost will be compared between both techniques.
The purpose of this study is to compare the postoperative pain and other clinical outcomes in patients who, during bariatric surgery, will be injected with a local anesthetic (Ropivacaine) through two different techniques.
Patients with COVID-19 and hypoxaemic respiratory failure and admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) are treated with supplementary oxygen as a standard. However, quality of quantity evidence regarding this practise is low. The aim of the HOT-COVID trial is to evaluate the benefits and harms of two targets of partial pressure of oxygen in arterial blood (PaO2) in guiding the oxygen therapy in acutely ill adult COVID-19 patients with hypoxaemic respiratory failure at ICU admission.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of supraphysiologic oxygen (hyperoxia) on myocardial function in anaesthetized patients with coronary artery disease.
The study will investigate the effect of a mix of fibers and probiotics on faecal microbiota challenged by an environmental stress
