NCT ID: NCT04787536 Recruiting - Postoperative Pain Clinical Trials

Perioperative Cognitive Trajectories in Deferred Surgery (CoTELE-SURGE)

CoTELE-SURGE
Start date: June 10, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Cognition is the way people use their brains to think, understand, remember and make decisions. Cognitive changes are often seen even up to 1 year after surgery. Whether these changes are more than what is expected for someone's age and morbidities is still uncertain. Due to the COVID-19 emergency, many elective surgeries have been delayed, which is stressful for patients, but also represents an opportunity of understanding better how surgery can impact cognitive abilities. The purpose of this study is to explore if and how cognitive performance changes over time for patients aged 65 years or older, whose surgery has been postponed. due to the COVID-19 emergency, following and assessing the cognitive performance of these patients over time before and after surgery. In particular, in this study, the participant's cognitive performance will be assessed periodically with a computer-based instrument for cognitive testing, self-administered at home, in which tests are based on playing cards.

NCT ID: NCT04787315 Recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Reaching Clinical Recommendations for Intensity of Post-stroke Rehabilitation

Start date: October 5, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The project aims to implement workstations for mobility training during intensive inpatient rehabilitation to increase the level of motor activity of individuals with hemiparesis due to stroke

NCT ID: NCT04787289 Recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

A Comparison of 2 Standard Doses of Bevacizumab in Combination With Chemotherapy in Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Start date: September 10, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

A pragmatic, two armed, study comparing 2 standard doses of an anti-cancer drug called bevacizumab, given in combination with Chemotherapy. The study will be offered to ovarian cancer patients whose disease is platinum chemotherapy resistant . Higher doses of anti-cancer based drugs are not always better than lower doses and can cause more side effects without improvement of cancer. These patients will be randomly assigned either 7.5 mg/kg or 15mg/kg of bevacizumab combined with chemotherapy . Comparing these two doses will determine if the lower dose-level is non-inferior, and could lead to practice changes.

NCT ID: NCT04786262 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1

A Safety, Tolerability, and Efficacy Study of VX-880 in Participants With Type 1 Diabetes

Start date: March 29, 2021
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of VX-880 infusion in participants with Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) and impaired awareness of hypoglycemia (IAH) and severe hypoglycemia.

NCT ID: NCT04786028 Active, not recruiting - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

A Study of Isatuximab Added to Standard CyBorD Induction and Lenalidomide Maintenance Treatments in ND-TEMM

Start date: December 8, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase II multi-center, open label, single arm study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Isatuximab administered intravenously in combination with CyBorD induction treatment and Lenalidomide maintenance treatment in a 28-day long cycle in autologous stem cell transplant-eligible patients.

NCT ID: NCT04786015 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Musculoskeletal Pain

Active Surveillance Reporting to Identify Adverse Events Following Chiropractic Care in Older Adults

Start date: July 5, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In Canada, almost 19% of chiropractic patients are aged over 65 years. Although most of patients ≥65 years seek care for musculoskeletal conditions (such as back, neck and lower limb pain), there is inadequate prospective data on the safety of chiropractic care for these patients and the frequency of potential associated adverse events remains unknown. Our study will investigate changes in symptoms reported by older adults receiving chiropractic care, with a focus on safety.

NCT ID: NCT04785456 Completed - Clinical trials for Major Depressive Disorder

rTMS for Suicidality in Opioid Use Disorder

Start date: March 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This trial is a randomized, double blind, controlled pilot study that will compare bilateral theta burst stimulation (TBS) and sham treatment for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) experiencing suicidality.

NCT ID: NCT04784858 Recruiting - Parenting Clinical Trials

Integrating a Parenting Intervention Into Substance Use Treatment: A Feasibility Study

Start date: May 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

While motherhood is central to the design of maternal integrated substance use treatment programs, "evidence-based" parenting interventions tailored to the needs of the population are rare. Stakeholder engagement has revealed that the evidence-base is not reflective of the needs of client population. With 34 ECD programs in Ontario, ECD programs are unique position to pilot Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch Up (ABC) and see if it is a good fit for their clients and if it is effective and feasible. ABC is 10-week evidence-based parenting intervention for parents who live in the context of complex risk, including mental health, addictions, child welfare involvement, and poverty. Investigators of this project will complete a open label mixed method feasibility pilot study involving active implementation of ABC that will involve: 1. exploration facilitators and barriers of the year-long implementation and training process and 2. exploration of changes in maternal mental health, substance use and parenting outcomes from beginning to end of treatment. Results of this mixed method pilot study will inform a larger trial with a control group and support a funding application to support its completion.
