NCT ID: NCT05237024 Recruiting - Vaccine Reaction Clinical Trials

(VIII): The Eight Study and Immunologic Response Sub-study

Start date: April 15, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study's objective is to test the hypothesis that immune system activation and subsequent systemic inflammation can be detected through continuously tracking multiple bio signals including physiologic variables (ECG, skin temperature and their derivatives) and behavioral variables (activity and sleep from accelerometers) collected during routine activities of daily living using wearable biosensors. In the sub-study, the objective is to explore the association between these objectively measured physiologic changes and vaccine-induced humoral and T-cell responses.

NCT ID: NCT05236790 Completed - Colorectal Adenoma Clinical Trials

Evaluation of CAD-EYE/SCALE-EYE for Detection, Classification, and Measurement of Colorectal Polyps: a Prospective Study

Start date: June 20, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators hypothesize that the clinical implementation of an AI system is an optimal tool to monitor, audit and improve the detection and classification of polyps during colonoscopy. The purpose of this prospective clinical cohort study is to evaluate the performance of the SCALE-EYE virtual scale for measuring polyp size when used during live colonoscopies. The investigators also wish to evaluate CAD-eye for detection and classification of polyp histology. It is hypothesized that CAD-eye and SCALE-EYE can function in real-time practice with high accuracy.

NCT ID: NCT05236491 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

COvid-19 Vaccine Booster in Immunocompromised Rheumatic Diseases

COVBIRD
Start date: March 9, 2022
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

People living with Systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARDs) face a new and urgent dilemma: immunosuppression increases risk for worse COVID-19 infection, yet an immune stimulation, such as vaccination, could re-activate their disease. Fear of vaccine-related disease reactivation is not of concern in other immunosuppressed groups (e.g. patients receiving chemotherapy or hemodialysis) but in SARDs, disease flare could lead to organ failure or even death. Specific research in this population is therefore critical. Moreover, among SARD patients, those on anti-CD-20 monoclonal antibody (mAb) (i.e. rituximab (anti-CD-20 mAb)), a medication used to treat inflammatory types of arthritis, have extremely low immunity post-COVID-19 mRNA vaccine. This study will test the hypothesis that a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine is safe and enhances post-vaccine humoral and cellular responses in SARDs patients on anti-CD-20 mAb treatment. The magnitude of this response depends on the type of COVID-19 vaccine administered and is optimal when the booster dose is a vaccine from a different group than the one used for primary immunization (mix-and-match approach).

NCT ID: NCT05236296 Recruiting - Leukemia, Acute Clinical Trials

Emotion and Symptom-focused Engagement for Caregivers (EASE-CG) Pilot Study

EASE-CG
Start date: April 12, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility and acceptability of an adapted psychosocial intervention, called Emotion and Symptom-focused Engagement for Caregivers (EASE-CG), to reduce traumatic stress symptoms and other psychological distress and increase well-being in primary caregivers of patients newly diagnosed with acute leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT05235919 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Treatment to Promote Self-regulation in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder

Start date: September 22, 2022
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the feasibility of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with self-regulation impairment. Baseline and follow-up participant visits will include behavioral assessments of self-regulation and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to determine neurophysiological outcomes before and after rTMS treatment.

NCT ID: NCT05235828 Recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

Studying the Effectiveness and Implementation of Sudarshan Kriya Yoga for Canadian Veterans With PTSD

Start date: April 25, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

We plan to study the reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of the virtually-delivered Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (v-SKY) intervention. We will study effectiveness by comparing the effects of v-SKY to a waitlist control in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) with Canadian military and RCMP veterans with PTSD. Effects of the intervention on PTSD symptom severity, depression, pain, anxiety, and quality of life will be evaluated. We will evaluate the reach, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of the v-SKY intervention amongst veterans, SKY instructors, health professionals, and administrators by interviewing RCT participants, instructors, health professionals, and administrators that work with veterans. Evaluating implementation of a virtual intervention is relevant in both pandemic and post-pandemic contexts where virtual interventions may continue to be more available and possibly preferred by patients and clients.

NCT ID: NCT05235386 Not yet recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Clinical Impact of Automated Oxygen Administration on Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19 in the Emergency Department.

Start date: February 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of the FreeO2 system on the quality of the oxygen therapy in confirmed or suspected SARS-CoV-2 patients in the emergency department.

NCT ID: NCT05235334 Completed - Quality of Life Clinical Trials

Evaluating Mental Health Improvements After Using Home Phototherapy Device With UVB LEDs

Start date: October 12, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the satisfaction of users with the MySOLIUS device by a non-professional in a home use environment. The secondary objective of this study is to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of the MySOLIUS device in the improvement of mood/quality of life score.

NCT ID: NCT05235165 Recruiting - Osteosarcoma Clinical Trials

Thoracotomy Versus Thoracoscopic Management of Pulmonary Metastases in Patients With Osteosarcoma

Start date: April 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III trial compares the effect of open thoracic surgery (thoracotomy) to thoracoscopic surgery (video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery or VATS) in treating patients with osteosarcoma that has spread to the lung (pulmonary metastases). Open thoracic surgery is a type of surgery done through a single larger incision (like a large cut) that goes between the ribs, opens up the chest, and removes the cancer. Thoracoscopy is a type of chest surgery where the doctor makes several small incisions and uses a small camera to help with removing the cancer. This trial is being done evaluate the two different surgery methods for patients with osteosarcoma that has spread to the lung to find out which is better.

NCT ID: NCT05235152 Recruiting - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Group-based Exercise Training Programs for Military Members With Musculoskeletal Conditions

Start date: January 28, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized controlled trial will compare the mid- and long-term effects of group-based training programs with usual individual physiotherapy care for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in military. One hundred and twenty soldiers presenting one of the four targeted musculoskeletal disorders (low back pain, rotator cuff related pain, patellofemoral pain syndrome or lateral ankle sprain) will be recruited and randomly assigned to either a 12-weeks group-based training program or 12-weeks usual individual physiotherapy care.
