There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
In long-term care, staff provide help to residents with bathing, dressing, eating, walking, toileting, transferring, and moving in bed. Some residents can do more for themselves than others. This study will compare two groups of residents who require the same level of help from staff. Over eight weeks, one group will receive occupational therapy services provided by OT students and the other group will not. After the eight weeks, the level of help that each group of people requires will be looked at to see if there are any differences.
The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of inclusion of 50% sprouted wheat wholemeal in a bread recipe on the postprandial glycemic and satiety responses, as well as on appetite-related sensations and acceptability of the developed products relative to a product made with a similar unsprouted wheat recipe.
Collect real-world data on acute and long-term safety and performance of the MITRIS RESILIA Mitral Valve, Model 11400M, in subjects requiring replacement of their native or prosthetic mitral valve with or without concomitant procedures.
This is a multicenter, single-arm, 24-week treatment, Phase 3 study. The purpose of this study is to investigate the PK and safety of dupilumab in children diagnosed with CSU who remain symptomatic despite the use of H1-antihistamine treatment. Study details include: Screening: 2 to 4 weeks; The treatment duration will be 24 weeks; Follow-up period: 12 weeks; The study duration will be 38 to 40 weeks (including screening and follow-up); The number of study visits will be 6.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate if a multi-component behavioral intervention given to anesthesiologists and surgeons is associated with decreasing low value preoperative testing orders in patients undergoing low risk surgery. The objectives of this trial are to evaluate a) the overall rate of low-value preoperative test (electrocardiogram and chest X-ray) in patients undergoing low risk surgery, b) to conduct an economic and c) process evaluation of the implementation The investigators will assess these outcomes in a sample of 22 Hospitals in Ontario, Canada.
This study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of single dose of GB-5001 (donepezil) IM depot in healthy male volunteers. And, it is to predict the multiple-dose pharmacokinetics based on the single-dose pharmacokinetics of GB-5001 IM depot and the oral Aricept® (donepezil hydrochloride) tablet by PK modeling.
This phase 2 trial will evaluate the effects of EP547 in subjects with cholestatic pruritus due to Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) or Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)
This study aims to investigate sex differences in blood pressure control associated with exposure to acute hypoxia (low oxygen), and short term acclimatization to hypoxia at high altitude.
The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and dystrophin protein levels in muscle tissue following multiple intravenous (IV) doses of DYNE-251 in participants with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) amenable to exon 51 skipping. The study consists of 3 periods: a multiple-ascending dose (MAD) / placebo-controlled period (24 weeks), an open-label period (24 weeks) and a long-term extension period (96 weeks).
Intravitreal topotecan has anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative and anti-fibrotic activity that we hypothesize may exhibit high efficacy for the treatment of proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). A high efficacy for intravitreal topotecan has been exhibited in cell cultures of PVR. At the same time, intravitreal topotecan has been routinely used in the treatment of vitreous seeds from retinoblastoma. At doses of 5-30 micrograms per injection, no adverse events have been reported with the use of intravitreal topotecan. Therefore, the current prospective matched phase II trial aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of intravitreal topotecan for severe PVR in patients with RRD.
